Can u make a deBloated version ?
Remove all and every junk Verizon thing ?
Also need the GSM part to work so having the ability to flash the Aussie Radio on it is a must.
I am interested =)
Interested, would like some debloatation of the stock rom maybe kill the google search bar at the top to regain some screen real estate.
Also have the setting turn on for hot spot so those of us with unlimited data can easily go in and mod it. I cant seem to get the setting turned on keeps telling me i need to call Verizon.
And and and lol
reboot & sleep mode back for JB (ie when the power button is pushed) not sure if its easy or not just a wish list.
If nothing else would be happy with just the stuff in the first line. But a fella can dream right.
Good stuff guys I have a bad case of the flu ATM as soon as I'm able to leave this god forsaken bed I'll get started see what I can do

Just throwing this out there... deodexed and zipaligned.
I'm sure anyone who publishes a tweaked rom that is STABLE enough to be a daily driver is good for anyone.
shucks. build it man. ill throw it on my phone for a try.
unlock?
how do u flash it without doing safestrap because i am much more comfortable flashing then safestrapping
If you're on a retail M you don't flash w/o safestrap... Ever. Unless somebody finds an unlock bootloader leak like on the S3 (not gonna happen)

Oh thanks because safeatrap seems really complicated

How do I flash DSPManager on the stock ROM? I can't stand not having it and I don't really like any of the custom ROMs.. and I am working with very limited space, so a custom ROM really is t an option for that reason alone. I recall a way to flash things without using recovery, but forgot what program did it..
Hi guys, I've recently rooted my i9505, and after trying a few ROMs I've settled on BlackBox. I've never flashed a new kernel before, just stayed with whatever came with the rom, so would it make much difference if I did, and if so, what would people recommend and why?
Thanks in advance.

No probably it won't matter much. Sure there can be a minor difference in your situation, but there is no better kernel.
Some kernels are better optimized than the Samsung stock kernel, but between custom kernels there is not much difference. If you don't understand what the difference is between each kernel, just stay with the one that comes with your rom.
Sound advice, thanks.

no mean to offense anyone...
it is like buying something new to replace a good that you have already (and it is working).
you will have to go and check what custom kernels can give you, to see if it raises an eyebrow. from my experience, each kernel has its ups and downs (I did not find a perfect one). you have to try yourself. a kernel that was best for me might be bad for you, depending on what you expect and want.
there are LOTS of benefits a customer kernel can bring!

Hi mate !
The kernel for instance can offer much customization if you're already rooted and on a custom rom, you can change the amplification of the headphone and the speaker of your device, you can overclock / undervolt your device, you can change screen display settings, you can change the i/o scheduler to your personal liking ...etc and much more !
That's why users recommend it, because it can offer what stock kernel can't and won't offer you .

Just in case anyone's interested, I flashed Adam kernel the other day and it didn't really work out. The phone became very juttery and laggy, and I the end I had to restore a nandroid. Glad I gave it a go though.

Is there a kit kat rom with all of the stock g2 features? I.E. - Knock on, ringtone fade when picked up, flip to silence incoming call, flip to snooze alarm, smart video, etc. You may ask, why do you want a new rom? Well, I have had this phone since Christmas, loving it btw, but after almost 2 months of having it, the stock rom is getting stale, but I want all those features. I also don't like launchers, they all seem artificial to me, even the highly praised ones. If not a rom, than maybe a custom kernal would add some new features?

No stock KitKat Rom yet. The reason is that the source code has yet to be released so the Devs don't have anything to build from.
I can recommend AeonFlex if you want a stock base ROM that is awesome. There are several Roms out there. Just give one a try. Or you could also go CM kitkat.
Thank you. I am downloading aeon rihht now, I will sideload it and see how I like it before flashing.

I recently bought my g2 and I rooted and I have been using xposed to get the phone how I want it. I bought g2 settings and tweaks but I want to make the background of my settings black instead of white. Is there any way to achieve this look with another module?
I tried gravity box but it didn't have it either. I'm on the Verizon model if it matters
Thanks in advance!
Gonna bump this one time since I still haven't found a solution.
Anybody able to offer any help with this? It's the only real thing in missing to make my phone exactly how I want it.

Does any mod do this yet? The white is so horrendous.
Install a custom ROM with a proper theme engine and the fix is as easy as enabling Dark UI/Dark Mode.
For example, SlimKat, Mahdi, or Carbon.

I'm rooted and have stock ROM am and experiencing so much lag, it's crazy! Is anyone having this issue? It's to the point where I might just have to ODIN back to pure stock!

Nope. Not seeing this. Perhaps you shouldn't have debloated so much?
My stock ROM was pretty laggy to begin with. I was very disappointed when I first got this phone, it had more lag than my old iPhone 5. After debloating and changing launchers it cleared up quite a bit, was running a lot better, than installing a ROM made it even better than that.
However, recently I decided to go back to stock for work purposes so I can run Airwatch, and I used Odin to get back to full stock, and this time the stock OS is MUCH smoother than out of the box. So it might be worth a shot to Odin back and then try setting it up again, may have just been a funky install from the beginning.
