interesting WiFi problem? - Defy Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Well I have ICS/CM9 freshly installed on my MB525 and TP-Link WR740N at home. When I set the wireless to 11bgn mode I can connect to it but just for a few seconds then it disconnects automatically. When I set it to wireless 11bg mode there are no problems connecting and browsing. Other thing is that only my phone fails to connect when is 11bgn, my brother's Samsung has no problems ... I installed the latest firmware for my router.
P.S. I have WiFi problems only with my router, with others there is no such problem

Try dd wrt

y?
After working for some time, it will disconnect, to switch to flight mode, then switch back. However, after a period of time disconnected
i think my problem is more serious
cuz is the whole wifi disconnect, even the computer :S
make me suffer alot
try this: change the wifi mode from "B/G/N mixed" to "B/G mixed"
it is already 802.11 b/g mix mode
Hi,
In my MS2 this problem also occurs when I'm connected to a router with
"B/G/N" suport, like the TP-Link TL-WR1043N / TL-WR1043ND.
I have a old d-link with support only for B/G mode, and the phone works perfectly on G mode (54mbps).
This behavior can be a MS2 of the failure of the wifi networks with N standard ?
regards,
Daniel

That's right, Motorola defective drivers for wifi don't stand being connected on N connections...

Galaxy Note disrupts connection with Wireless router and Desktop computer

Hello
This just started today after 1 day after I bought my Galaxy Note. Sometimes I'm on Wi-Fi on the Note and I'm on my desktop computer, my computer connection to the internet gets disconnected. The WiFi on the phone still works, but I can't visit any websites anymore.
I just received a call and talked for a minute, then my computer connection didn't work for a minute as I tried to load up different websites. Now it's back on. I find this strange. I tried two different routers as well (Cisco and Linksys). Both of them experienced this issue. I tried different ethernet cables as well.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a setting I need to change on the Galaxy Note? I'm new to Android.
I guess the problem is on your router / modem. I haven't heard of a similar problem before.

I have a similar problem on the phone sometimes. WiFi signal will be activated on the phone with full bars, but the phone is still unable to connect to network or visit any websites. Sometimes I get the message 'could not connect to network'. This problem is intermittent but annoying.

Probably best to set a fixed IP address for each device. I find that solves a lot of problems. Sometimes as devices join and leave (like if WiFi goes off) they take each-others IP addresses, and when re-joining the hookup fails.
Sometime I am facing this issue also. Then only I have to reboot ADSL router. Mine is Netgear.

I remember one crazy incident in the past. I had one pre-sample Acer Android phone and randomly some colleague in the same room wouldn't be able to browse in their laptop. After lots of fiddling around, realized that phone was running DHCP service on its own and it was leasing out different IPs to laptops connected to parent wifi router. (So there were two DHCP servers, one in wifi router, another in android phone and laptops connecting to the wifi router were sometimes getting IP issued by the phone).
News to me and i have a lot of devices connected to my router

Galaxy Nexus
Galaxy S2

[Q] Wifi Issues?

After reading a bit it's seems to be a common issue on ICS and later. My device occasionally looses it's wifi connection, at which point I have to go to settings and turn the wifi off and on. Is there a better solution to this problem? My router is using WPA2-PSK and is on channel 7.
Wifi seems to stay on fine here, but I cannot connect to 5ghz, only 2.4ghz. Not sure if this is an issue or if the Wifi chip only supports 2.4 ghz.

it doesnt connect to 5ghz, unless theres a trick to it??? but use wifi analyzer and look for the strongest channel on ur wifi router to fix ur problem
Turn off multimedia support on your router if all else fails

Yea I'm having trouble as well. I have a telus smart hub at home and it is super slow. Then when I use my hotspot on my Gnex from rogers, it runs fine, although this app takes awhile to load.
Tried playing with the settings, only think I couldn't find was the 5ghz and 2ghz.
Try some more playing tomorrow and look for different routers

Can I ask someone with nexus 7 to check if it connects with wifi AD-HOC network without problems?
I use my old LG gt540 as a 3g modem + wifi router, but it works only with ad-hoc. For example my HTC Sensation can't connect to such a network.
edit: NO, it does not connect with AD-HOC

Cell network disconnects when Wifi network is connected

I got this weird problem when I connect to any wifi network, my cell network will disconnect briefly for about 10 seconds ( with a stop sign ), then it will connect back.
Isit only me that is facing this problem? I tried several stock roms and kernel but it is still the same.

Help weird Wi-Fi Problem

Hey guys
I have my Oppo Find 5 X909 and even though I am very happy with it there is one weird problem that I'm facing. When I connected my phone to Wi-Fi it connected to the router via the Wi-Fi repeater and it worked perfectly. But then one day the repeater was turned off and i connected directly to the router and even though it showed me that it connected succesfully I couldn't do anything that required internet. For instance i tried surfing the web with my Chrome app and it showed me a DNS problem which is weird because all the other devices in the house work just fine whether they're connected directly to the router or via the repeater. I tried restarting the router and making the phone forget the settings and readding them with no results.
I checked the official Oppo Find 5 forum and found that noone else was facing with such a problem and I have no idea where to look for the answers. I would really appreciate it if anyone could help me with the problem.
PS: my phone is running the latest Color ROM international build but I noticed the problem also on the newest official international ROM. Also the phone is unrooted
No such problem for me. I'm on latest Color ROM as well :-/

For some reason updating the router firmware fixed the problem. Thank you for the reply nonetheless

I'm having the same problem. Also only with one AP in my network. When the problem appears, no other device can access the internet through this AP. Sometimes even my wired PCs can't get access to the network.
My workaround is to try to always connect to my other AP.
I'm on CM 10.1 Nightlies. The AP is a Linksys WAP610N
