LG Stock launcher (home) reloads when clearing tasks - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello Everybody,
I was wondering if some of you could help me.
Problem in short:
LG Stock launcher (home) reloads when clearing tasks (long pressing home + clear all backround apps)
(by reload, I mean all icons, widgets disappears for one or two seconds, and reappears again.)
My device is D802 (Int), NON-rooted
This happens every time even if I clear one small task only eg.: Settings
Can anybody suggest something how to resolve this? Thank you

Anyone?

well, I guess I'm on my own here

I guess
I have never experienced launcher reload. Except if you referring to a micro lag after clearing the task manager...

android.process.acore Problem - Landscape Mode

I've been getting "android.process.acore" messages for the last couple of weeks. It happens whenever I rotate the homescreen.
One thing I've read said it could be the widgets, but I've removed each one and am still having the issue.
Any ideas?

I get that sometimes randomly, but I'm not sure what it means.
I'm just going to wipe everything and start from scratch. I'm getting it constantly now, and it's starting to be a real pain.

I wiped it clean, went back to cyanogen, and added everything back.
It worked for awhile but came back. When it does it now, it takes me to the previous app I was in before going to the homescreen.
If it's the widgets (on ADW Launcher btw), I have:
NewsPro Reuters App
Advanced Task Killer
TM World Clock
Power Control
Icons w/ Desktop Visualizer
Oh dear, sadness is overtaking me! (sorta melodramatic but still very true)
Any help would be appreciated.

Rule them out...remove them all and add them back one at a time, over time, until you can reproduce the problem...that is, of course, assuming that you don't get the error when you don't have any widgets...
To solve the score force closes, first back up your contacts or make sure they are synced to Google. Next go to settings-> applications-> manage applications->all-> and select contacts storage. Once you have done this hit Force Stop, then clear data. Reboot and resync your contacts and you should be free of your issue. I had the same problem until I found an article ellaborating this process. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the responses.
I tried both the widget and contacts fix but it didn't work. Only when I updated to cyanogen RC2 (released today) has the error gone away. Weird.

I guess, You are doing End All...instead of single End.
I am using Program Monitor, just pressing END in front of the app !!!
I do have the same problem on jpy...reset worked for sometime but the problem returns.
But what puzzles me is why shd the program manager show contacts open even after closing through the back button alike older firmwares
Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk
Anyone knows why ?
I found that if I upgraded to Program Manager 1.5 the contacts did not close with the back button. Leaving Program Manager at 1.1.12 means contacts will close with the back button.
Thanks, but still no reason to clear icons when you close it
Same here - after i opened contacts, i am not able to close it anymore, besides program manager - and then, all icons disappear for a while - strange...

[Q] Home button lag

Hi,
Did you noticed that it takes about 2 seconds (!!) to reach home screen when pressing the home button from any application.
It's happening only on Sony Ericsson launcher so this is pure launcher oriented.
I realy like the SE launcher and don't want to give up and move to another.
Is there any solution for this issue ??
Thanks !!
Try V6 Supercharger.
And post in the correct section and use the search function!
Thanks .
But is that actually solving the SE Launcher's Home Button 2 seconds lag ?
I did search but couldn't find any post talking specifically about that.
Usually it should fix the issue, because among other things it lock the home in memory.

Thanks for the fast answer .
Do you mean that Go launcher, for example, is already memory locked ?
While SE launcher is not, and that is the reason it takes about 2 sec ?
If you already installed that, how much time it takes you to reach home screen from within another app (Whatsapp for example) ?

I'm not really sure about that, but I think so.
That's definitely.
I'm not using Whatsapp, but usually it responds instantly and don't have to refresh the apps/widgets on the homescreens (or you won't recognize it).

Forgive me for asking, but can you can try to do it from any app, just launch any app you wish, and then press Home. Can you tell me how many seconds passed from the moment you pressed home till the home screen really shown ?
Thanks!

As I said, it should respond instantly.
And I'm not using the stock SE Home any more, so I can't.
Just try it.

This is exactly what I'm using... stock ROM v.42 with no modifications.
And I don't have so much widgets...
Very strange...
Restarting the phone will help for a while. If you are like me and don´t want to mess around with that supercharger thing this is the only way to fix that
restart didn't help...
Anyway, I installed zeam launcher and everything is super fast.
As I said its a pure launcher issue.

I tried SE launcher and go launcher, both got lagging issue (sometimes) when backing to home screen. I'll test zeam later.
BTW, my wife's ArcS perfoams very well. No lag at all.

[Q] Application Defaults Reset

Hey guys,
Whenever I restart my phone (or turn it on), a dialog pops up asking me to select my default launcher. I select it and press always.
The next time I turn on my phone, the same popup appears even though I selected always.
How come the defaults aren't sticking?
Thanks in advance.

More information may be needed...
Are you rooted or not? If rooted, what ROM are you running?
Also helpful; Does this happen for all app defaults or just the launcher and if just the launcher, which one are you trying to make default?

I am not rooted.
It only appears to be the launcher. I am setting it to be the Standard Launcher (as opposed to the Easy Mode).
Try:
Manage Apps => Reset app preferences

Nope, didn't work.
When I power on the device, I get the following popup "Complete action using" and I have Easy Launcher and TouchWiz home. I select the latter and tap always. This doesn't hold though the next time I power on my device.

You could remove TouchWiz Home with TiBu, then it has no choice but to use Easy Launcher.

Not real sure, I haven't ran TW in forever... Someone else will chime in...
Yes Easylauncher is preinstalled by default.

Do a test... Get nova or apex... See if they stick... Then you'll know if its a launcher issue... Whether or not they get saved to the launcher or the ROM...
The issue still persists. I know that other people have had this problem.

[Q] Widgets are dying

I have a stock Note 3 and I'm having widget problems. After the phone has been on for a few days all the widgets die. What I mean is that they stop updating and even tapping them doesn't launch the associated app. They're just frozen.
When this happens, I can remove the widgets and add them again, but all that happens is that the outline of the widget is there and nothing loads into the widget, just a grayed out box.
What the heck is going on here? Any ideas on what is causing this to happen or suggestions on things to try to fix this? Unfortunately any troubleshooting suggestion will take days to test because that's how long it takes for the problem to crop up.
TIA
Sounds like an average case of full RAM to me. Tried clearing the RAM when it happens? (Long press Home > Pie icon > RAM > Clear RAM)

I have not tried that but I will give it a shot next time it happens.
Curious that I've never had this problem before with lower end Android phones with even more widgets running. I'd think if it was an average case of full RAM I would have experienced this in the past.
Also, I thought Android was really good at managing RAM so you're not supposed to have memory problems like this.
Anyway, appreciate the suggestion so I'll give it a shot. Just not optimistic that's the problem since I've never had this happen before I got the Note 3.

Nope. RAM is not the problem.
Right now the one widget I'm using is locked up and clearing the RAM doesn't help.
Any other ideas on how to fix this very annoying problem?

No. I'm using the stock launcher.
Going into the app manager and clearing cache and data for Touchwiz Home seems to have solved the problem.
I should point out for the benefit of anyone trying this in the future, clearing out Touchwiz Home will return your launcher back to all default settings. So any shortcuts or widgets you put on your launcher screens will be gone.
If I had known I would have taken some screenshots of my launcher screens before doing this so I could set them back up again exactly as I had them.
