Is the Razr limited by a hardware chipset for the implementation of the new Bluetooth 4.0 BLE with the new Android 4.3 ROM or is it a software defined radio? Has anyone been able to get a BLE device to work successfully on it? I'm looking to add the Polar H7 bluetooth strap to my razr.

MY biggest problem with 4.2 is the totally borked Bluetooth audio (only on N7, not on N4 strangly). It's because Google prematurely jumped to broadcom Bluetooth stack from Bluez.
Is there a way to switch back? I know I can run 4.1.2 stock, but I would prefer to keep 4.2, if there was a kernel that used Bluez. (or is the Bluetooth userspace?)
I recently got a Fitbit Force as a gift and noticed that it uses BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) to pair with your phone. I tried from my Razr M running the CM11 20131228 nightly and it doesn't find it.
Anyone know if there is a way to get this to work?
Does BLE run on the CM10.2 20131102 Snapshot build or any other roms?
Bluetooth BLE is not supported in CM releases it seems, my Tab didn't have any issues finding BLE devices on stock ROMS only CM releases
If you go to Apps/All & scroll drown, your find org.codeaurora.bluetooth ,
maybe you could raise the question here: https://www.codeaurora.org/forums/bluetooth
Hi guys,
is it possible to use signal from ANT+ device in app that uses only bluetooth smart api? I mean emulate (translate?) or sth? (Im a real noob)
I have ANT+ HRM and would like to use it with micoach app (adidas sucks and isnt interested in adding ANT+ api to its app).
No. ANT+ and Bluetooth Smart are different wireless protocols, using different API's and different stacks (think WiFi vs. Bluetooth).
To allow an existing app that uses Bluetooth Smart to use an ANT+ device, you would have to replace the Bluetooth stack on your phone with one where you have changed it (not changing the API) so it uses the ANT+ stack and translates between ANT+ and Bluetooth packets and adds in info for Bluetooth advertising. Not a trivial task.

Hi there,
We're developing a hardware project at University that captures audio and send it out through BT A2DP profile to be analysed. It already works fine with wireless headsets and our next step is connecting it to an Android device.
The AOSP is currently implementing the "sink role" of A2DP profile in Bluedroid stack, but as far as I know it is still on lab. However, it seems that the discontinued BlueZ BT stack partially implements this role in Lollipop versions.
Hence, my question is: do you know any 5.x ROM for Nexus 4 that swaps BT stack to be BlueZ? We haven't either enough time nor knowledge to build our own custom ROM.
Any further help would be really appreciated :highfive:
Hi, does anyone know if there is any information about what communication protocol is used between Android wear watches and Android phones? I'm working on developing a wearable device and we already have notifications working with iOS devices via Bluetooth LE by using ANCS. We would like to achieve the same with Android phones and as there are already a number of Android wear watches out there, I presume there is a Bluetooth protocol defined by google that is being used between them that we could implement, rather than having to come up with our own custom protocol?
Hello, any news on this? I would like to fake the Android-wearOS connection once the phone is out of range with another BLE device.
