[Q] Stock + custom kernel to fix Bluetooth woes in 4.2 - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

MY biggest problem with 4.2 is the totally borked Bluetooth audio (only on N7, not on N4 strangly). It's because Google prematurely jumped to broadcom Bluetooth stack from Bluez.
Is there a way to switch back? I know I can run 4.1.2 stock, but I would prefer to keep 4.2, if there was a kernel that used Bluez. (or is the Bluetooth userspace?)

[Q] GE bluetooth merged with CM?

Hello
I have an I9505 (jfltexx) I use with a MOGA bluetooth controller.
It never works properly with CM (tried 10.1, 10.2 and plenty of different experimentals) and they all lose the connection with the controller after about 2 mins of use. With a untouched GE rom the controller works fine, and bluetooth heaphones work 100% using CM.
Is it possible to take the drivers (right word?) from the stock GE roms and merge them with CM? Thanks for your patience here, I'm not a hugely technical user
Thank you

[Q] Bluetooth Low Energy on CM11

I recently got a Fitbit Force as a gift and noticed that it uses BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) to pair with your phone. I tried from my Razr M running the CM11 20131228 nightly and it doesn't find it.
Anyone know if there is a way to get this to work?
Does BLE run on the CM10.2 20131102 Snapshot build or any other roms?
Bluetooth BLE is not supported in CM releases it seems, my Tab didn't have any issues finding BLE devices on stock ROMS only CM releases
If you go to Apps/All & scroll drown, your find org.codeaurora.bluetooth ,
maybe you could raise the question here: https://www.codeaurora.org/forums/bluetooth

[Q] Kitkat and bluetooth sux...

Okay... I have a rogers SGH-i337m GS4 and I tried many ROM variants through it since it came out on the market. But Kitkat is possible the worst as far as bluetooth functionality is concerned. Every Kitkat ROM (including the stock Rogers Kitkat that just came out) all seem to have issue with bluetooth. The bluetooth issues range from random disconnects, no media audio streaming and phone only (or vise versa) and not being able to connect to pc.
Has anyone else had these annoying issues? Anyone have solutions?
Thanks!

[Q] Bluetooth in Car causing phone to reboot

Hi I have searched for answers but am stumped now.
I am using Google Play Edition 06-08-2014 by Danvdh and I love the rom but when using the phone in my 2011 Mercedes Benz the phone was randomly rebooting on the 4.4.2 rom.
After updating to 4.4.3 rom the bluetooth connection drops out sometimes when trying to make or receive a call, it eventually reconnects but it is very frustrating. I am even considering moving back to my iphone if I can't sort this one out.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
The first paragraph of the rom you are using:
This is the latest build for the I9505-G Google Edition S4 official from Google/Samsung, I have made quite a few optimizations to the ROM and added the tools necessary to give it the features (100% working features that is) of an AOSP ROM, Google edition does not use open source proprietary which mean's Bluetooth, and most importantly the camera will work way better out of the box since Samsung builds this ROM (Full HDR support, 1080p video recording, no green lines on the front cam).
I don't think there is much you can do. Maybe a different kernel would work, but I doubt it.
If you want working bluetooth you should flash an TW based rom.

Bluetooth Stack Question

My stock GS5 won't stay connected to my Honda Pilot. I had a 2013 and got a 2014 (long story), and it wouldn't pair with either. However, it has no problems pairing to my other car (Acura TSX), nor to any other car I have had (I travel for work and rent a lot) nor to any other bluetooth device I have. My question is: if I root the phone and install CM10, will that completely replace the bluetooth stack, or does it use the same one that Samsung put on there? I thought about just reinstalling the stock OS to reinstall the stack in case there was something off, but Samsung got rid of my two favorite features (shortcuts on the lock screen and swipe-to-call/text favorites) so I no longer have a reason to stick with stock. Therefore, if I'm going to wipe and start over, I'm just going to root it and get rid of the stock software. HOWEVER, if it will just install the same bluetooth stack, I won't bother at all.
