[Q] Bluetooth Issues with ported Nexus 5 rom - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was running the very first Nexus 5 port made by boykioy and I flashed the ROM with no issues at all and without having to flash a new radio or kernel. When the KOT49H update came out by the same person I flashed it and my phone went into a loop where I realized that I had to flash a new radio in order for the update to function. The radio I had flashed was the stock radio provided on a blog by the same person that created the ports. The name of the radio is the v.98 KOT49H stock radio. If you have ever used Bluetooth in your car or for an external speaker you might have realized that once you pair your device it remains paired and will connect automatically when Bluetooth is enabled and the speaker/car is on. This was the case for me until I flashed the new radio. Now when I first pair my device to my car stereo or any Bluetooth speaker it will pair and play perfectly fine. Even when I turn the car/speaker off and turn it back on it will automatically reconnect and play perfect. The issue comes when I turn off Bluetooth on my phone or turn my phone off and on again; the devices won't connect again and when I manually connect them the sound will glitch about every 10 seconds. But as soon as I unpair and delete the info ok my phone and re-pair it works perfect. If anyone has any solutions or ideas I'd be more than willing to try them. I couldn't attach a link to the blog but it's real simple: nexus4(period)techxeroblog(period)com

[Q]Problem with car bluetooth

Hi,
I'm have problem with using my HD2 running android (darkstone SuperRAM FroYo v1.5) with my car's bluetooth system (Opel Antara). I can get them paired but that's as far as it goes. When I try to make a call, connection momentarily is made and then it disconnects. Android does not give any error message and car simply says "disconnected".
Now, it cannot be a hardware issue as in WM 6.5 on the same device I have no problem with car's bluetooth.
I use andriod all the time and this is the only issue stopping me from moving to a NAND version. Any suggestions, or ideas to resolve the problem?
-AlefSin
thanks or all informations
I am running the Unofficial SuperRam and have a similar problem - i can get the phone and car kit to pair and connect initially but if i turn the car off and wait till the car kit disconnects, then turn it back on again, the phone stays paired but does not reconnect. I have to unpair them and repair them every time to get them to connect. I was running Darkstone SuperRam previously and never had a problem.
The car kit is a Nokia CK-100

can someone help with bluetooth?

Hi Guys,
I'm having this problem that is driving me nuts, don't really know how to proceed.
I have a car stereo a Kenwood DNX8120, which has parrot bluetooth hands free. It has worked very well in the past on an LG, SonyEricsson and the Nexus One.
On the Nexus S (I bought this used and rooted with CM7, so I don't know about a stock model) the bluetooth connects, then after some time, like 20 seconds, it disconnects. I can play this game forever, it won't stay connected.
I can use one of two methods to connect
1- put the phone in BT discovery and let the kenwood connect to it, or
2- Have the phone connect to the kenwood.
I've tried both with the same results.
I got a.logcat and I see a whole bunch of red entries at the time this happens but I don't know what to make if it and I don't know how to grab these entries to a file.
I have also tried a phone wipe and installed infin1ty's ROM and also the latest CM nightlies. Same friggin result.
I see in recovery there are options to delete dalvik and data but I don't know if they'll help.
can you guys help?
Thanks
Tried another device. The actual hardware could be messed up on either device causing this. Try your LG again to the radio and the try another headset to to the phone. Last but not least try the stock Rom .
P.s. cm7 had an issue on the evolution where by was not given a unique Mac address which caused issues for me connecting 2 cm7 EVOs (they would over write each other).
Hope that helps

Hi Thanks for the help.
Both LG and SE phones still work fine. I'm unable to find another nexus s so I dunno if this particular one.
But here's a new discovery.
I paired them using the HU. Now when I start the car, the BT connects then after a bit it disconnects. Well now I can go to the *phone* and manually connect to the kenwood and the connection holds!!! I have no idea what is going on with the autoconnect but it can apparenlty hold a connect if I manually initiate it from the phone.
All this time I had been trying to get the kenwwood to do the manual connection (after the auto connection faills) and that never held.
sigh...
Have you tried a headset with the nexus to see how well/bad it works? Also are you on the stock rom? If so take it down to your carrier and ask if you can try it on one of their units.

[Q] Anybody experienced the bluetooth issue w/ Pdaimatejam's ROM

Anybody experienced the Bluetooth issue w/ Pdaimatejam's ROM? My Bluetooth could be switched on and stable. But it always shows "Searching..." and cannot find any Bluetooth device. I cannot find HD2 from other Bluetooth device either.
Please advise!
mine works sweetly
ermm... a) make sure the other phones bluetooth is set to be Discoverable
and b) so a soft reset )
Emm...
After performing some further testing, I found it can pair with my laptop, but still cannot connect to my car. Seems like the Bluetooth in that ROM is not compatiable with my car.

Right after the DP5 installation, I had to unpair the phone and car (2016 Mazda) because the phone would never connect. It was no where near as easy as that sounds, took me the better part of 30 minutes because of repeated "unknown errors" coming from the car.
The phone paired up just fine but I still have frequent and completely unexplained dropouts on literally every Bluetooth device I have (headphones, Moto 360, car and the list goes on). So far this has been the absolute worst of the previews for BT that I have ever seen.
But then, if you read around here, it sounds like there were a lot of these that had flaky BT hardware. Have not exchanged mine, but that has certainly been my experience since I bought this back in December.
I have no issues with Bluetooth and the latest DP. I have my phone connected to a Kenwood deck.

I wonder if I have flaky BT hardware? Mine was a launch phone and it has worked perfectly in my Toyota since day 1. However I've recently bought a fitbit type band and with that application (veryfit 2.0) installed and connected to the band then if I make a call in car it drops the BT after about 30 seconds with an error message on screen saying 'corrupted probe message'. I can manually reconnect the call (it's still active on the phone) but after another 30 seconds or so it repeats the cycle. Have upgraded to Nougat Dev Preview NPD90G but still the same. Removing the app and its binding (it binds in the app not the phones BT devices in settings) and rebooting the phone resolves the issue. Tried again with a proper fitbit and the issue is identical.
I will RMA it to see if I get another one that works. Now to figure out how to put it back to stock marshmallow. gulp.
I have the same issue pairing to my car's Bluetooth keep pairing failed

I had this same issue, I flashed the system file again and wiped the cache and dalvik. It seems to be ok now.
Check this solution. Pair with '0000' worked for me.

Since switching from my Nexus 5 with 6.0.1 to a Nexus 6P with 7.0 I am also suffering from bluetooth issues. Pairing itself is not a problem but the connection sometimes drops, controls in my car don't work properly, remaining track time is not shown, etc. Haven't even tried to make calls yet. If I can't find a solution I'll probably be going back to 6.0.1.
The proposed '0000' solution is not working for me as I cannot change the PIN on my Seat Leon (2016). The PIN is autogenerated and shown on both displays to be confirmed upon pairing.
Has anybody tried flashing the latest 6.0.1 radio image and use it with a 7.0 system?

Bluetooth pairing issues on 7.x

Hi all,
Since upgrading to Android 7.x, I've had problems connecting my phone to other Bluetooth devices, particularly my car heading it for hands-free. The headunit in one car works fine, the other car keeps connecting and disconnecting after about 1-2seconds in a continual loop. Before 7.x it was connecting fine. Even now my phone makes the notification sound of connecting when I'm in that car even when I choose 'forget this device' on both hu and phone, only way to stop the notifications is to turn bt off.
I've googled and found it's quite a common issue, but yet to find a solution. I joined the beta program and update everytime but yet to fix it.
My question is, will this problem be fixed if I install a custom rom like PureNexus or is it a flaw in 7.x affecting every rom? If that is the case, is it possible to downgrade to 6.x? I really want to be able to connect to my hu with hands free again, it's been months now with no luck!

Hello,
Backup your data's and try to factory reset.
You can install a custom ROM, but I guess it doesn't fix drivers issues which are closed sources.
Otherwise you can downgrade to a 6.x stock firmware.
Option 1 and 3 needs you to unlock your bootloader. Backup important datas, unlocking bootloader wipe all datas!
Good luck...

I suggest you fully wipe your phone and install the May Google image (N2G47O). There was a major BT rework introduced with 7.1.2 that fixed an issue just as you describe. I went 5-6 months without being able to connect with one of my cars (2014 Cadillac). When the 7.1.2 beta came out I did a fresh install and it immediately fixed the problem. BT has worked flawlessly since.

You need a completely clean 7.1.2 install.
There is a setting somewhere (I don't know where) left over from previous OS version or app.
My phone was doing the exact same thing with my BMW, and only my BMW.
Clean install of 7.1.2 fixed the issue for me.
I wiped my 6P today hoping it would resolve my BT issues with my 2015 Toyota Highlander. No such luck, it still boots my Toyota in an endless loop until I disable the BT on the phone. The car works fine on my Samsung S3.
What is the process to do a Clean install of 7.1.2?
