I am updated to OTA 4.4.2, running custom recovery.
While trying to get connected in a different mode, I unchecked BOTH of the mount options (media, camera), and now I can't mount the N10 when I connect to PC, AND I don't get those options anymore.
What can I do to restore those options/make N10 mount to PC?
I would love to be able to upload new ROMs...
Thanks!

Is it possible to mount it as an external storage just as an android phone does? On Windows you have to install the driver and it shows up. On my Mac it doesn't and just charges. Also can I mount the sdcard along with internal storage?
Also is there a way to mount my x10 as storage on the Transformer? When I plug into the USB port on the dock, I press mount on my phone but it does nothing while regular USB flash drives work just fine.
For Mac just download this http://www.android.com/filetransfer/. Works perfectly, allowing you to access your storage.

Awesome, thank you
As the title says.
I can't for the life of me find the option to mount USB storage via CWM / TWRP. Am I doing something wrong or is the feature not.. there for some reason?
Tried CWM 6.0.1.0.
You have to be rooted, have stickmount from play store and the proper otg cable, there are threads on it already, sorry no link you'll have to search.

I could of sworn I saw a mount USB storage option in TWRP 2.2.1, but I could be wrong, in any case, 2.2.1.5 has it, but has issues with gapp flashing it seems

I've always transferred files (rom/kernel zips) to my device via clockwork mod recovery because there's the option to mount usb storage even on recovery. I'm not talking about using the stickmount so that my flashdrive can be detected via usb otg.
Can anyone else confirm that for N7, neither cwm nor twrp has the option to mount usb storage when plugged in to my pc?

I'm certainly no expert, but I have never seen that option in CWM...don't know about TWRP. All I have ever done is just plug my device in to the PC...open the files...and click and drag to where I want to put the zip file. I do the same thing with my N7.

Oh, I believe you. Like I said, I'm no expert. I'm sure you know that the CWM updated and changed with JB.
So this is weird. I have two nexus s devices. One device is detected by my windows laptop as usb mass storage device just fine and I can browse my /sdcard just fine. My other nexus s is not detected as usb mass storage device, only as ADB interface so I cannot browse my /sdcard in windows. I thought it was the phone so I plugged it into my ubuntu laptop and ubuntu detects the usb mass storage just fine and opens /sdcard. Can anybody help me understand what is going on here? Should I uninstall the adb drivers from windows and try again? Maybe if I uninstall the adb drivers windows doesn't get confused and open the phone as a usb mass storage device? Both phones have USB debugging disabled.
Fews days bck my Nexus S had same issue, device was not detecting to PC ... But after 20-25 days it was gone fine again automatically ... Now my device works fine ... Do know what happend to it
I had a similar issue, I couldn't connect as Mass Storage Mode. But if I booted into Recovery, I could mount the phone and it would come up as a drive like it's supposed to.
Turned out to be Marmite 7.1.2. I updated to 7.1.4 and all is good.
Also try Settings > Storage > <menu button> > USB computer connection > MTP. Even though Mass Storage is working for me, I switched to MTP. It connects and transfers faster.
My computer detects my phone but I can't access the storage every time I do it says software or I/o error.

mounts on CWM 6.0.1.0 but not on v6.0.4.3
I have installed CM11 snapshot on my nexus s
For that CWM v6.0.4.3 is required.
But this wouldnt let me mount the usb storage even in recovery
So while in bootloader i flashed CWM 6.0.1.0 using ADB from pc
Now usb storage mounts.
Is everybody else facing the same problem or is there a stable CWM v6.0.4.3 which mounts usb storage?

Please ensure your device is connected to your machine and CWM is loaded.
On a Windows Machine do the following:
Navigate to Device Manager (Win + Pause|Break Key > Select 'Device Manager')
Locate device within the list that has an exclamation mark beside it (remove USB cable and reinsert to see if actions correspond with item visibility)
Ensuring that your USB cable is connected, right click on the device you located in Device Manager...
select 'Update Driver Software' > Browse my computer for driver software > Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer > Highlight 'USB Composite Device' (ensure 'Show compatatible hardware' was ticked before proceeding) > Finally Select Next.
The driver will now install. Once it has simply remove the USB Cable from your device and reinsert. This will initiate the re-assigned driver. You can proceed with mounting your Storage via CWM.
You should now see your device, Nexus S, is listed within Device Manager. You can proceed with installing the ADB driver's if you wish, or simply skip this step as it is not essential for USB Mass Storage operation.
@Stickman89 Thanks
Its not working
I can see adb android composite device
Can u give me the link from where you downloaded cwm 6.0.4.3 for nexus s?
Hello,
I'm trying to mount my cellphone as a mass storage device in my Nexus 7, in order to listen the music I have in its sdcard.
Using an OTG cable and StickMount, I can mount pendrives without any problem, but I can't read my phone's contents.
Obviously, I enabled Mass storage mode in my phone (it's running Android 2.3) and tried to mount using 'mount /dev/sda' without luck.
Thanks!
I think you've got the wrong subforum.

Thanks, I wasn't clear. Fixed.
Hey guys, my girlfriend just got a 2012 N7 yesterday. As normal, I started updating the OS, from 4.2 to 4.3 and finally 4.4. Everything seemed fine at first, but I just noticed it might have internal storage mount problems. For example: there are some folders (usually the data folders) that don't seem to pop up once the tablet is connected to the pc. Also Quick Office won't show me to Internal Storage as a save location as it does on my 2013 N7. Any of you had this problem, or know any viable solution? Thanks in advance!
nobody having this problem?
Check to see if you have usb debugging on and if you're using MTP for the usb connection when connecting to the pc. Original cable is preferred. What does settings > storage show?
