Did u tried to compare with others? If u still got warranty i suggest u to use it.

It's normal to be hot, considering that you just bought it and will try to use it as much as possible. About the camera, check if you have peeled off the protecting transparent layer from the camera

Nice shot.
Sometimes I too take underwater shots with my phone. Last Sunday I recorded a 25mins video but Note 2 screwed it up.
Looks like Note2 disables auto-focus if you touch the screen while video recording

Those who wants a link for the case, he made a video review of a case for note 2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q00G_oMZXcM
i love the girl on the video..lol
Your waterproof case didn't seem reliable if you bend it.
I'm using the same case this guy did
DicaPac guarantees waterproof protection down to 5m which is pretty enough for a plastic bag.
I have a video taken underwater with my note 2 also.

Nice perform If I played with my phone when my girlfriend around she would go mad I guess She barely accepts the fact I install new ROMs everyday and play games, spend a lot of time with phone basicly

nice ! but from the pic... no offence..but I feel the cover looks very cheap as in it could tear easily? or is it not? in a scale of 1 to 10 while 10 being very durable and long lasting how much would scale/rate the cover?
Sent from my Samsung Note II N7105 LTE using Tapatalk 4
It cost less then SGD20. At that price i rate the durablity ten..
It doesn't feel like it would tear easily. If compared to a plastic bag i would say
it's around 8/10 while that plastic bag is a 1/10. .
I will not use it more then a month if used everyday...
Texture is something like this http://www.notempire.com/images/uploads/marcRainCoat.jpg
This is the case: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dive-Cover-...DA_Cases&var=470277302816&hash=item27d62307bd
Its all hard plastic with silicon on top of the screen. Of course, the screen doesnt work when underwater! So with a small change in a file, I changed the home button to a camera button.
Of course, I never went more than 2 meters (6.5 feet) underwater just to be sure. But for surface and up to 2 meters photos and videos, the case is perfect. 100% waterproof!
Max duration I had the camera in the sea was ~40 minutes and not a single drop went in.
I didnt try a pouch because I thought it would distort the pictures if it was not perfectly straight and clear near the lens.

[Q] crooked camera lens?

Am u just being picky or does it look like my camera lens is crooked? Seeing as how i basically paid retail, and within the worry free gurantee i could return it. Just wanted to check withthe community before doing so.
Mine looks crooked too, but it looks crooked differently from different angles. I think what's happening is a shadow is being cast that's making it look crooked. Could just be an optical illusion. You could always stop by Verizon and compare the floor model.

I received two N3 today and the one I got from Best Buy, the camera lens is crooked compared to the one from Verizon..
Does your camera take a while to auto focus? (Not sure if it's related to being crooked. Can't test the other N3, as it's already packaged ready to be shipped to its new owner)
I'm going to exchange it tomorrow and check it out prior to completing the swap @ BB..

I dont know, but in my opinion I think it's not crooked at all. Or am I just not seeing it hahahah
I'm not seeing it either here..

I have a week old note 3 and noticed this. The camera assembly is slightly crooked/skewed to the right. Seems like a manufacturing fault, i dont think the lens itself is crooked, just the glass housing covering the lens is not glued in accurately. Camera works fine though. I checked a couple of note 3s around my workplace and almost all seem to have this defect. Cant decide whether this is a big enough issue to replace by phone or not
There is now a replacement back housing available on etradesupply for our phone.. I have since lost my note 3 and gotten a replacement from asurion and that one does not have a crooked lens..

I have a att note3 and noticed mine is crooked just a little bit. Sometimes the angle of the shadow make it look more crooked than it really is. I'm not that worried about mine though.

New Factory Packaging Method?

So long story short, I'm on my third note 3 due to defects in the first two. When I received this note 3 however, I noticed that there was plastic on the sides and on the camera lens, in addition to the plastic on the front and back. Was just curious if Samsung changed something or if this is how they are supposed to come and the stores just remove the plastic before selling the device. I know its trivial, but I am always curious
Edit: If this belongs in general, can a Mod please help me move the thread? Thanks!
Just curious, what where the defects? My camera wont focus properly but I'm thinking that's more of a software issue.

First one had issues with spen pen accuracy and sensitivity. The second one had a poor chrome finish, parts of the trim were not painted properly, exposing the black underneath.
As far as the camera goes, does it have issues when you tap to focus or when you hit the camera button, then it tries to focus?
Both. It rarely focuses properly and once I finally get it to focus and snap a picture it blurs before taking the shot.
Mainly on close-up shots.

didnt notice any clear sticker protector on my lense, perhaps you have one on yours?
When I got mine at the store It didn't have plastic on the side but in some unboxing videos I have seen they did. So it could be that in store they are taking some of the plastic off. Not sure why though.

Very strange. Maybe it could also do where the phone came from? Mine is from China, I am not sure if they use different plants though.

Ditto to this.
Had the same issue on trying to get it to focus on some close up pictures [of food, I know, I know,...] I was taking last night in low level light.
It takes amazing pictures when there is enough light, but terrible ones in low light with a hard time to focus to tap.
Tried installing other camera apps [Camera 360] and didn't notice any improvement,...yet.
Bought mine from Best Buy and, yes, it did have all the plastic protective pieces. The one on the camera had a cut out so the camera was completely usable even with the plastic on. I bought mine on launch day, so I'm assuming that's the way they all were supposed to ship.
No complaints about the camera here.
And slightly unrelated, but I also bought 2 additional SGS4's that night and they both had the identical plastic coverings as well.

I was thinking maybe they gave you a used one that had been returned already, or they were using it for a demo model? Not really sure, but I've been with 3 carriers in 3 years, with 4 different Samsung Galaxy series (Galaxy Epic, Galaxy Epic 4GT, Galaxy SIII, and the current ones listed above) phones and every one of them have had these same protective pieces. And they were purchased at a variety of stores, Sprint, Amazon, US Cellular, and Best Buy.

It is possible, however both times the accessories were still sealed and the device still had the front and back plastic. Its just the side and camera plastic that were missing.

I've seen that wavy purple pattern on other phone cameras before -- certainly on my Note 1. I think it does that in low lighting when certain bulbs are present, perhaps flourescent?
The dark lines that are most visible in the pic of your hand have me concerned, however. That might be a hardware problem.
First pic is flouro lighting.
Second, third pic. Looks like a hardware fault. Same lines in same place .... not good.

So is it sofrware or hardware if its sotware i'll wait for samsung to fix it but if its hardware i'll go to the store to get a new one

Hardware fault. Go get it swapped.
Bloody oath... You can see the bars in all photo's.That's definately a warranty job. If it's less than a week old and you got it from a store then make sure they replace/swap on the spot, not 2 - 3 weeks for repairs.
Why should you be without a phone for that time as this is a premium flagship phone, and forget about "loaner" phones... Old as the hills, beat up pieces of garbage that have no battery life and most times don't make or receive phone calls.... Honestly, the one I saw given to somebody was straight out of the museum of ancient history, large brick that was absolutelly useless as a phone. And the store had the hide to try and charge for repairs when I complained it didn't work....
Get it replace, im really sure it a hardware problem...

Out of the box plastic removal

Hi to all, I've just got an s5 and I'm wondering is there a plastic film over the heart rate monitor and flash like there is on the camera? Only asking because it looks like there could be but I can seem to get it off and don't want to risk scratching the glass
Many thanks in advance
Sent from my SM-G900F using XDA Free mobile app
Anyone?
Sent from my SM-G900F using XDA Free mobile app
Hi no there is not any over the sensor only the camera
Oddly enough it varies. There have been plenty of people asserting that they had a plastic film over the camera glass to make those comments credible. However, I have bought two S5's brand new, in sealed boxes from a major carrier that did not have the film in place. So perhaps a carrier can specify this item or Samsung may have made a running change in their manufacturing procedure.
Regardless it shouldn't be hard to detect if it is there and remove it. I haven't heard of anyone saying that there is a film on the sensors though.
.
Excellent thanks for the replies, I didn't think there was one on it but these things can be hard to spot sometimes, had one on my s4 when I got it last year on the home button for months without realising and that was hard to remove lol
