Hi,
I have a doubt about the Action Memo:
- When I hand write a name like "Jonh Smith" and use the name to create a new contact, the contact name turns in "JonhSmith".
Don´t matter the distance between the two words and even if I write in two lines, it never put the space.
But, if I use the name to search the internet, there are no problem with the space.
This is happening only with my phone ?
Any suggestion ?
Thanks
Nobody ?!
51 views and nobody can test this simple thing and post a comment ?
I didn´t have access to anothther NOte 3 to try myself.
Thanks
All the same by me :-/
Tried all, no space in contacts

No, it is not just you, it is probably a bug. However in my case I am also suggested a better spelling in the input/keyboard window.
mine does the same, no big hassle to just ad the space after though
thanks to all
OK, agree that is not a big problem.

I second xclub_101's suggestion. SwiftKey keyboard handled the correction automatically on my end.

[QUICKFIX] "My apps" Applications and games owned by this account will appear here
FYI: So after doing research on the internet i finally found a solution to solve that problem that makes some of us SICK!
Anyway here is the fix:
Download marketfixer by kstudio: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kstudio.marketfixer.
Start markerfixer then click on Analyze market links (this will search which apps are conflicting the Google Play) this will take up to 5 minutes.
When the analyzing is done, check "Select All" or tap all manually.
Click "Remove Selected Links".
You will be prompted with a popup that will say somethink like "Install a random app" on the Google Play -> install something
This fix has been posted several times before.
And there's no need at all for the ridiculously large font.

Dudes this one here is a small and very useful contribution. Better than these ics threads which pop up by the minute as soon as something happens. This one gets saved in my link database for sure  thx!

The app is useful that's for sure and does fix the market issues pretty well. Never doubted this. I'm simply stating that according to forum structure, this stays an Android forum post and not an SGS2 specific post... It's not because alot of people only view the SGS2 forums that anyone can post things anywhere. A structure is in place for a reason.
doesn't work for me any other fixes? apart from uninstalling updates and clearing cache because that didn't work also

blessup.
i guess this is rather useful to non-root users, everybody else probably uses the market tools in titanium backup to do the very same thing w/o the need for yet another app.

TiBu only fix missing app links to the Play, marketfixer actually searches for apps that are conflicting the market this feature is not inplemented in TiBu(yet).
I reckon this app should be installed within every new custom rom!! .. would save alot of headaches!!
Thanks a lot dude, i have been facing this problem for a couple of months now and honestly the only solution i found after countless hours of digging and experimenting is to uninstall all my apps then re install them back manually and checking the market after every 2 or 3 installations and i noticed that everytime i install blackmart my google account is screwed and once i uninstall it, it goes back to normal.

In my previous galaxy phones. S, S2, and Note, the notes section in every contact did not seem to have a limit to the number of characters in it. So you could have comprehensive notes in them. But not any more. In the new S4 i9505 it is limited and its not very big. Bloody annoying.
Any idea if this is sorted with the custom roms? I assume so.

No it is not.
I posted huge chunks of text from a website into the notes section and it saves it just the same.
Your contacts source/setup (SIM Card maybe ?) may be the issue.

Hmmm... sorry, but it is definitely limited to about 960 characters. But I think I know why it doesn't appear so and why it SEEMED to work for you (But didnt really).
If you go online cut and paste 2000 characters into the notes section of a google contact, then it will accept the text and save it. If you then go to the contact in your phone you will see all 2000 characters. So it looks like the note field has capacity for lots of info.
HOWEVER... if you then try to edit the contacts note field from within the phone you will see it will only show the first 950-1000 characters. And if you try to add more it wont accept it. And if you make a change and then save you will discover all the text after 1000 characters is now lost.
This was the case in the stock 9595 rom. And now im on the WananLite 1.3 Rom and have discovered the same problem.
Not sure if it exists in roms created from scratch.

The entire text you just wrote is 983 chars... including bbcode.
That fits nicely in my notes... i tried to double paste... and indeed there is a 1000 chars limit.
For mere mortals such as myself that is alot...
Ill try a third party contact app and see if there is a limit.
But seriously are you keeping a a dossier on people in your contacts app?

I am a financial adviser and keep a lot of note in there. The Notes section seemed to be unlimited in my Galaxy S2 and Galaxy Note. But the S4 has this 1000 character limit.

I am running into the same limitation. This is clearly not a limitation of Google (support.google.com/mail/answer/148779?hl=en[/url]) and my Nexus-S didn't have this limitation.
I hope Samsung fixes this because while it probably doesn't affect most users/records, for those that are affected, it's a huge deal and it obviously doesn't have to be this way.
I wonder if a fully customised rom wont have this problem? Im on a slightly modified Samsung rom

I'm certain that a non-stock ROM could have unlimited note field length and that a Google Experience ROM will have an unlimited field. Someone should soon be able to confirm this?
sg3 too

SG3 has the same limit, it's a big restriction if you manage a large number of contacts with large notes.
Worst part is that it´s undocumented

No idea what it's called. But looks like it resizes the phone's usable area for one handed use. VERY cool, nice find!

hi , take a look at this link and read relevant article and take note of picture ......
My guess is its not Note 3 ?/ ( in video) or that feature comes from a device '"Vivo Xplay " a android phone ,also 5.7 inch screen ??
http://phandroid.com/2013/05/07/vivo-xplay-android-phone/
I read a while back about this feature , here on Xda , about it.The feature is called "Free Touch '
i have seen some sort of custom ROM read this thread for info ?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2344238
I might be wrong but take a look
good luck
In the instruction manual that was recently posted, it does say there is a setting for one handed operation (page 50 of the manual). There's no diagram so it may or may not be similar to this feature, but one handed operation is included in some form on the Note 3.

hi,
i also think you are correct ,that the Note 3 could have adopted this type of function( one handed function)
I have read the Note 3 manual and yes if you look at wording etc( on page 50) it seems like
they implemented similar feature, than what the Vivo Xplay had ?
If so, i give it a thumbs up, as i was after this "Free Touch '"feature when i first saw it ..interesting !
That guy totally wasted our time, he didn't show how it works in that "windowed" mode...
Love the idea, I have to use phone with one hand all the time and with my short fingers it's practically impossible reach far corners, this would be absolutely perfect.
Can someone confirm this existing on N3?
P.S.
It's definitively N3 (or something faking it), Vivo Xplay doesn't have middle hardware button.
hi ,
yes on Note2(for those who don't have Note2 ) presently only have a few one handed features
(keyboard ,dailer caculator and these apps ,you can only move left or right side off screen, see attached)
So i think Samsung, must have added " these " extra features..!!
Can anybody confirm it ?
edit .. post note
i see NZtechfreak confirms it in his post summary " So I had half a weekend to play with the Note 3, what did I think?"

Hi
I have bought a nexus 4 for my daughter and I would like to block a guys contact on her whatsapp,
If I use the normal whatsapp blocking she can unblock it easily. What I want is to block a number on her whatsapp such that its not visible to whatsapp at all
Thanks

Sorry there is no such mod/settting in official whatsapp to block a contact as like you are saying..
Should I be the one that says that's bad parenting? The more you cage a bird, it will take its first chance it can escape. Who's to say she will use another phone instead of the one you gave making your question rather useless.

Hi, Misledz I know u from this forum since... years, and I respect u a lot, but I don't think he's asking how to educate his daughter. I also think that's bad parenting, and I wouldn't do that, because I think u have to let ur sons and daughters crash with reality and problems, but that's not the funtcion of this forum, is it?
@7thAkash, as they said, there isn't such mod, but if she wants to contact him she will use facebook, viber, skype, or whatever.

The easiest way is edit the contact to remove the country code lol. The way whatsapp works is it makes sure that the country code-phone# matches before it displays. I've had some contacts without the country code and they dont show up. That is until that person messages you.

suggest
There is an app which allows me to hide my contact from any whatsapp user
This means if any user even saves my number in his contact , it will still not show on his whatsapp contacts
But it will to show to everyone else except him
Any idea which app is this ?
I have noticed how all the previous galaxy notes have had the formla match function, where you write a formula and it gives you the answer by using wolfram alpha, either in the S-Finder or the S-note, however ive realised, theyve removed the S-Finder in the note 4 and the formula function isnt in the S-Note, is it somewhere wher i cant find it or have the removed the feature? :crying:
I think I've seen it inside the calculator application on the Note 4.
Try hovering over the calculator's input field with the S-Pen and click on the button for the handwriting field.
Can't test it though as I haven't gotten my Note 4 yet.
Thanks

I dont know, i dont really see why they removed it in the first place. the most common answer ive seen is that its in the calculator, il check that the next time i use it. If they have removed it, theres only one way you can get it, but i dont know if thats capable of handwriting recognition, only one way to find out and thts to wait and find out.
