Yes. Unfortunately, it takes awhile to charge it. I would give it at least one hour to be sure.

So I accidentally depleted my phones battery low enough that when I plugged my phone in to charge it, it was blinking red. But it charged and is back working again, so its all good. But now when I turned my phone on, there's a Google watermark Almost on my screen. I've taken screen shots and looked at them on my computer and it didn't have it, so it much be the screen? Its in the same spot and size as the Google logo when you start up. I only let it charge for about an hour, and the first time I turned it on, it was on its charger and I didn't get the boot animation, the screen was off, I could tell because it was really black, if I display a black screen on my phone while its on, I can still tell its on because of the backlight. Did I break it... ?

It's definitely burned into the LCD, was the phone heated up when it happened? were you using intensive tasks? though, Either way it wouldn't matter. The only thing you could do about it currently is to take it back to LG for them to replace your screen.
What charger you used ? Stock ?
I'd give it about a week to return to normal.
The phone was warm, but not hot. I used stock charger and stock cable. Its actually gone already. I can't notice it at least.

just factory resest your phone...or better yet use a toolkit to return to stock image..the mark will go away..this happens something is seriously wrong with nexus 4..its get loads of issues...!
@zander, which kernel are you using?

Looks like a screen burn in.. You probably have really high brightness? Or your device was taking long during the boot up at the Google icon stage?

This happened to me when an app required to restart my phone and a weird static image showed up on my screen. The Google logo was temporarily burned in. I shut the phone down for a few minutes, turned it back on and it was gone
Hey guys. My girl dropped her phone in a cup of water. Halfway the phone was in it. So the screen wont come off but the led blinks red. I have the phone on a bowl of rice. Been there for 12 hours. Still wont come on but it vibrates and the red light blinks. I was wondering if that is what would called lights of death? So what you guys recommend? Leave the phone on rice more time? Open it?

Buy a new phone. It's likely fried.

Blinking red light means the battery is too low to start the phone up
Follow this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2250454
You might as well clean up any moisture that might be present inside while you're doing that
You're fault for having a girl
You'll probably have to replace a few things. Check YouTube for an N4 teardown video.
Alternatively, you could sell it for about $150 on eBay and cut your losses.

Forgot to mention. Kids talk your childish comments somewhere else. The screen wont come on. Will put it on charge all night tonight. I was just wondering if the phone can be save though the led light comes on. Then the phone should be fine right?

If it does get past the red light, you may still have more issues with the device, but it should at least attempt to boot.

Cant get past the red light. Its been 5 days now and now the red light flashes when its plugged in. Not sure if it will ever come to life. I tried to go into recovery and nothing. I wonder if its bricked completely. But its a shame that I couldnt save it. Maybe a JTAG repair may fix it
You might have to do the fix where you open the phone and manually charge the battery. Someone posted a link to that thread in this thread already, just go to the 1st post of that thread.

hello all
my n4 got wet two days ago. since friday i didn't manage to power it on.
today, after i opened it and put it in a bowl of dry rice (heard it can absorb the fluids) i connected it to the charger and after i pressed the power button for few seconds it the green led light popped, but turned off after few seconds. when i press it for few sec and it turns on and afrterwards turns off.
now it's connected and i managed to keep the green light on for the last 0.5 hour. do i still have a chance to save it and what should i do, or it lost?
i'll mention i don't have an app about the lights and didn't root my phone. i also looked it up in the forum and didn't find a similar problem.
thank you very much for the effort.
You should of placed it in rice has soon has possible.
The green LED means fully charged.
When you mean by turns on do you mean it shows the Google splash screen and if so then when does it come off?

If I were you I would try rooting the phone and installing Slimbean or another rom that lets you disable the LED light. That could shut it off for good hopefully unless the LED lost all connection to the motherboard and it's only getting power now.
Hello!
I have a Nexus 4 and I saw now that I can see squares in the screen of the Nexus when it turned off.
I can really see them clearly.
What is that? Is my Nexus 4 is defective?

its not defective unless your touchscreen is not working..
those lines that look like circuits are the touch sensor or something like that..... you can only see then with the screen off and in the right angle...

Is there a Nexus 4 phone that the pattren is less visible?
I compared with a friends phone and his does not have this pattren so clearly.
Btw,
If I change the phone's gamma with a kernel and then I back to stock, the colors goes back to the original?
And if I undervolt the phone and then I go back to stock, the settings of volt goes back to the original?
Is changing the colors can damage the screen in the long term?
We just got a new nexus 4 in the family today, rev11, and it also has this chequered pattern visible with the screen off. We have 2 original rev10's that don't have this.
Guess it's supposed to be like that.

Boot to the boot loader.. From power powered off state, press volume down button, then press it again with the power button and hold them both down until the boot loader screen comes up. There you can see what revision your phone is.
My wife pulled her phone out of her purse today (had the phone for 2 weeks) and the phone wouldn't come on, after looking at it, it looks like the screen is cracked, but you can't feel the cracks (See attached pics)
Also, the LED doesn't light up when you plug it in
What I would like to know, is what do I actually need to repair this?
Thanks
Anyone? The LED turns blue when you turn it on.
I know something is cracked, but what is it? If I order a part, what do I need to order?

Hello, I'm a technichan.
The AMOLED display is broken and shouldn't get hot. Maybe is the CPU getting hot (normal) and/or the PMIC (it's normal when device is powered on or under charge, but if get too hot it's bad). I suggest to take device to someone that can test motherboard, since the notification LED is connected (together with 3,5" stereo jack) with a different connector than screen+touch screen and doesn't light up while charging or during boot, bad symptom
