Hello!
I have a Nexus 4 and I saw now that I can see squares in the screen of the Nexus when it turned off.
I can really see them clearly.
What is that? Is my Nexus 4 is defective?

its not defective unless your touchscreen is not working..
those lines that look like circuits are the touch sensor or something like that..... you can only see then with the screen off and in the right angle...

Is there a Nexus 4 phone that the pattren is less visible?
I compared with a friends phone and his does not have this pattren so clearly.
Btw,
If I change the phone's gamma with a kernel and then I back to stock, the colors goes back to the original?
And if I undervolt the phone and then I go back to stock, the settings of volt goes back to the original?
Is changing the colors can damage the screen in the long term?
We just got a new nexus 4 in the family today, rev11, and it also has this chequered pattern visible with the screen off. We have 2 original rev10's that don't have this.
Guess it's supposed to be like that.

How to know on which one am I ? I just bought the phone some like 2 weeks back. But didn't from play store, but rather from a local re seller.

Boot to the boot loader.. From power powered off state, press volume down button, then press it again with the power button and hold them both down until the boot loader screen comes up. There you can see what revision your phone is.

After two monts of perfect usage, yesterday I saw two blue areas on black bachground. I have tested several dead pixel repair apps but no chance. What kind of defect is this?

The only time I have seen that is with screen pressure "accidents".
Either replace the screen/digitizer yourself, or send it in for repair if it bothers you.

Hey all,
I received received my LG Nexus 4. I don't know if I may have damaged my screen but hopefully you guys can help clear up my queries.
I've been trying on screen protectors and my case, I don't know if maybe I've damaged it. But, one thing that has lead me to believe this is when I start up Nexus 4, during the Google screen at the top right, there is a bit of light exposure.
Basically, I would assume that during the Google screen at boot up, the whole screen would be black right except where it says Google.
Mine has a bit of faint white light on the top right corner.
Could anyone help clarify this for me?
Appreciate it, thank you!
I'm assuming that on most Nexus 4's that around the Google logo at boot up it is pitch black. But, others with Nexus 4's please check on boot up at the Google screen around the top right edge, do you also have a white/faint tint in the corner?
Are there anyways to check this? That the touchscreen is still functioning in the corner? Am I worrying too much about it? Is there a way of testing the screen?
Is your case still on the device? I'm not sure which one you're using, but it's possible that it may be too tight for the Nexus 4, which is causing pinching of the touchscreen.
You're right, at boot, the screen should be pure black, save for the Google logo and that unlocked icon (for unlocked bootloaders).
You can check if it's still registering touch feedback by going to Settings > Developer options > Show touches. Then try touching that area and looking for a white circle. Or simpler, you can pull down the notification shade from the upper right edge.
If it's still in warranty, maybe you could have it returned too.

I'm using a Ringke Fusion case, it's brand new. This was yesterday I noticed this on the screen, I was a bit annoyed after wasting a couple of screen protectors getting it on, hopefully when I go home and look at it today it looks pure black but I doubt it. I will try out the methods recommended.
@mlag: Surely I couldn't have broken it? Everyday people must put these phones into there jeans or tight trousers and it must put some pressure on the screen. As I said yesterday I was a little frustrated after going through many screen protectors trying to get it on properly. Hopefully today when I switch it on when I go home it looks better.

So I've established that light bleeding on the Nexus 4 along the top of the screen is quite common. After reading from this thread below.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2133655
Now can anyone tell me how light bleeding is caused? I'd appreciate it, thanks!
Its the display itself when made, you can't cause your phone to get light bleed at least I don't think. I also have a little on the top right.

Thanks for your response mate in both threads, I read the other one and I agree with you. It doesn't bother me, it is only because I switched on the new phone yesterday I was just playing with it as I haven't got my new SIM to use it yet. And, I noticed at the top on the right there was a very faint light bleeding, it isn't that noticable.
I will carry on using it as it is.

No I never faced such issue..
This is common in 303K and 305K version phones.. Just chill not a big issue.
If you are rooted you can use smart screen on to wake/off the device with a tap/slide.

I have gone through that particular thread before. Although I have always used LMT to lock, and turn the screen off, but I am not very comfortable with apps like s2w. Anyway, I am thinking more along the lines of a hardware fix. Has anyone gotten theirs done?

Hey guys I just got the Note 4 today. The T-Mobile variant. At first the capacitive buttons were lighting up, but now they don't. Its not a big deal they still work, but no LED. And I already checked. The setting is on the LED being on for 1.5 seconds. You guys got any ideas?

Hello guys!
The fingerprint scanner on my Graphite Nexus 6P is another color than the rest of the body? For me it seems to be greener than the body.
Is it the same for you?
Anyone?

Did you checked the photos I provided? Are you sure this is normal? I did not see this on my first model
Come on, guys...please someone with a 6P confirm if this is how it is for you or not...
It all looks normal to me. Also the fingerprint scanner will reflect light differently than the phone body because it's recessed into the body of the phone. Which in turn can make it look different. But yours looks normal. The bar at the bottom is supposed to be slightly diff than the body of the phone to give a two tone effect.

so, ppl are telling you it's normal, but you're still asking ppl to tell you it's normal?

Yes...it does. It is not about functionality tho. I just do not know if this is how it is supposed to look. As I said I do not remember my first unit (built in Octomber) to have two different colors. Or at least it was more of the same shade. That is why this one seems weird to me.

It could very possibly be a different shade. But I am just saying that unless it is effecting the usage of the device, why does it matter. It's not like you could trade it in on the basis that the fingerprint scanner paint is a slightly different shade then your first model. You are hyper focused on a non issue. Are you worried that you got a refurbished one. Because you probably did. And that would definitely explain the difference in paint. But still, you have a fully functional device.

Well yea...I am kinda worried it was a refurbished device. But the thing is...I do not know if it was indeed refurbished or not. The guy at the shop where I requested a replacement opened the second one in front of my eyes. He cut the exterior seal and also the seal on the box. So...might it be refurbished? How can I tell?

Yeah it is hard to say. I would assume it's new, but maybe they have refurbs stocked from huawei on hand for trade outs. I don't really know how it works. I have gotten refurbished phones in the past though and have not experienced negative side effects. My HTC m7 which I had for the full 2 years was one of my favorite phones. My first model did crap out though in the first week and I had to mail it in to swap it and definitely got a refurbished one. But it still works fine to this day. I could see where they had glued it back together at the top though and it made me uneasy for the first few months.

This is a little bit off topic...but is it legal to sell refurbished phones without saying they are refurbished? The shop I bought it from claims it maight be a new phone. Idk if they collaborate with Huawei. Nexus devices are not so Popular in Romania. The 6P launched here on something arount 22nd of December (I bought it on 23rd...but the phone was manufactured in October).
Back on topic...do you think it looks normal? Still waiting for more replys from guys that own a Graphite Nexus 6P
