I have a stock Verizon G2 and I did the update this morning. Now it's stuck on "Team Win Recovery Project v2.6.3.2.....
I"m now backing up the System...Is this how to do the updates now? Where do I go from here?

The OTA will not not work if you are rooted and have a custom recovery. You need to adb to the phone and enter the following to fix it:
adb shell
dd if=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/fota of=/sdcard/fota-backup.img
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/fota
Just the second command should do it if you are in terminal in TWRP.
Good luck

We'll, don't know how to get anywhere with this. How can I get back to origianl phone? adb= abort? Didn't know the phone was rooted.
Lol, you have twrp on the phone and don't know you were rooted?
You need to follow the return to stock thread. It should be stickied at the top of the lg forums

Thanks..Yeah , I know. Dumb! I haven't rooted a phone in 2 years and didn't really care to with this new phone. It was free and didn't have any desire to root it. Bought it from Bestbuy and it came rooted and it only cost me $15 with case/screen protector.
Got it back to stock. Better research some more before I try to update.

Wait, you bought a phone from Best Buy and it was already rooted with TWRP? Did you buy a used phone?

Nope, you're pretty screwed. When unlocking the bootloader, the phone tells you that your warranty is now void.
The nexus S has a oem bootloader unlock. In other words, samsung will not hold the fact that bootloader is unlocked against you. You do need to get rid of miui and get back to stock. There is a thread showing how to do this and provides the files you need. I'll see if I can find it for you.

I said that because I was screwed over by Samsung.
I just use cwm to flash the latest ota rom then locked the bootloader and reboot.
no issues from samsung regarding voided warranty. Perhaps you had sent it in with the bootloader unlocked?
Just use rom managers stock 2.3.3 and flash it... then lock bootloader by the instructions provided a post up
Just a heads up... same thing happened to a guy and he sent it in.for a speaker that wasn't working ... he waited over a month to get his phone back rather then them sending him a new one or refurbished

just flash the original system images found in the development forum, i think they are a sticky
good luck! make sure the bootloader says locked, and there is no super user app and no custom recovery!!!
I used Stock Odin image that will restore everything rom, recovery...ect then just lock bootloader. Funny thing is i sent mine back all stock and bootloader locked few months ago and got back with bootloader unlocked.

LMAO it was probably cyanogen himself, they did hire him you know
Get my nexus 7 tomorrow. Just want to know what to look for so I know if I have a good device. So far I've seen issues with: dead pixels, bad speakers, lifted screens,.... anything else I'm missing? What should I do.. take it back to the store or contact Google? Thanks Also buying it from the store I should still get the play store credits correct? Kind of looking forward to that. Would be a total downer if I don't.

All the best and congrats at the same time for your purchase !! Have a look at the Home Screen thread and yes, download Nova Launcher if you wanna experience the home screen in the landscape mode. btw, I have ordered mine too. sadly, it will take 2-3 weeks to arrive.
woot!
BTW, there a simple build.prop edit to make the homescreen auto rotate, all you do is add this line to your build.prop and reboot.. launcher.force_enable_rotation=true

Is it necessary to root the device to make the above code work ? Also, people have experienced slight bugs with it. I might be wrong but that's what I read in the forums here.

for any nexus its really easy. heres the process in a nutshell..
1. fastboot oem unlock
2. fastboot a custom recovery(twrp or cwm, i recommend twrp)
3. flash the su binaries or a custom rom in your custom recovery
4. reboot
5. profit
no need for root toolkits, youll learn nothing from them.

do a little reading, familiarize yourself with the words/terms, youll pick it up. what scares and messes up most are the words. the process is actually very easy but the word/terms make it seem intimidating.
I remember when I thought I was going to get my tablet the next day I ordered from Google, so I had to wait for UPS to bring the tablet to me.
Camped the tracking site every day, and it said the estimated date was exactly 3 days from purchase. The day it was supposed to arrive, the information on the site updated like all my other packages (left the shipping warehouse and was marked as out for delivery). Waited all day, got nothing, and eventually late in the day the order was rescheduled for like 2-3 days later :/
UPS Live support said it was a shipping mistake. Can't recall what was exactly said, but it was almost as if they were blaming Google for shipping the package later then mentioned...
Also, I never actually manually rooted my device, but would you just flash a custom recovery, push a CWM-flashable superuser file (either Superuser, or SuperSU), and then flash it for root? And then after that, I think you can install busybox somehow?
No... Im going out to get it tomorrow. As long as Google gives my payout like they should.

in this case you would need to run a unsigned kernel and then remound system as root
Installed https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummy.font.installer&hl=en tried a custom font... BRICK
Things I tried to unbrick with
1.flashing a pit file in odin
Not tried
1. BestBuy, gonna trip out there after my college classes.
2. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Unbrick-Ser...t-/271267344770?ssPageName=ADME:X:AAQ:US:1123 would like to do this only as a last resort as i am broke right now.
I'm posting on XDA for some help/suggestions on what i should do. (please note I have no custom recovery)
Also I saw someone say they put their phone on T-Mobile and took a T-Mobile OTA to replace the MF3 and then bootloader unlocked the T-Mobile update.
Edit: I do have the SGH-1337 sim unlocked currently running on airvoice going to make the switch to T-Mobile sometime this week.
Don't mess with the pit file. Best case, it didn't do anything, worst case I'd it messes up your phone worse that it is. You never mentioned what state your phone is in. Did it boot? Boot into download or what.
I think your best bet is best buy. They seem to be able to flash the mf3 firmware. It's basically the same thing jtag would do and it's free.

Wasn't thinking straight, it bootloops at the AT&T logo so I can hit download and stock recovery. tried factory reset from recovery, no dice. I'll be hitting up best buy asap. and do you anything about OTA'ing to T-Mobile and possibly unlocking that build?

Except kies doesn't have mf3...and more often than not makes the phone worse than before as it does a partial flash of (older) MDL until it gets stopped due to bootloader

You'd probably be better off going to a Best Buy that has a "Samsung Experience" booth. They can flash it back to stock MF3. The normal BB service counter will have no clue what your talking about.

Glad you got it back working. There's no way it'll ever be able to be downgraded.
Might be for the international version only, but I was curious. I don't have the guts to try it.

I tried it in the VZW G2. The root works (Phone reports being rooted in Settings\About Phone\Status screen) but it doesn't install SU. I tried installing SuperSU and both SuperUser apps (by Chains DD and ClockworkMod) but the binaries wouldn't install.
We are already rooted, I'd there a reason to go this route or are you just playing around?

I'm just a bit wary of hacking software that:
a) originates from china
b) lights up an antivirus program (Symantec) like a christmas tree when attempting to download.
Having found the same exploit that the OP talks about, I went ahead and tried that first. Since I couldn't get the SU binaries installed, I ended up using the chinese one in an older ready-to be-rebuilt laptop. The fact that a Trojan was found in it still bothers me immensely... (I'm travelling for work, so I don't have the Trojan info readily available, but can post details over the weekend if anyone is interested.)
Hope this helps out. This was after I unlocked bootloader and re-setup my phone (so there are some apps installed). Total unpacked size is 3.26GB, zip is 1.52GB.

It can't. It's just a dump of the system partition. Usually benefits people with other devices looking for something off this device. Maybe an updated app or lib.
As soon as @TheJesus and I can get online at the same time we might be able to come up with something...

Bahaha, that was the first place I looked
If someone could modify this to be able to prompt me for an unlock code when I enter a different SIM card, I would be very, very happy. Apparently T-Mobile does something to stop the prompt from coming up, and I want to be able to unlock it almost immediately. I'm on my way to get the phone now, but I don't want to come home with a useless paperweight.
Apparently a similar stock ROM was created for the LG G4 as it had the same problem. I would love to see a ROM for this once TWRP is publicly released for the V10!
