I like the new verizon car dock but when I make or receive a voice call through my factory bluetooth system (Dodge Nitro with factory nav system) the call quality is horrible. If I toggle from bluetooth to speaker phone back to bluetooth the call quality is fixed. Anyone else experienced this?

Have you tried the car home app from the Vibrant? I personally like that one better than the Mesmerize one. I'm curious if it has the same Bluetooth issue, but I have no Bluetooth system in my Jeep to try it out myself.

No I just turn my bluetooth on and let it do its things thing while paired to my trucks sound system. When I refer the verizon car dock I mean the "mount" that holds and charges the phone. Just making sure we are talking about the same thing...
Thx

Oh, sorry, I misunderstood. I thought you were referring to the application. I don't know why the dock mount itself would have anything to do with your Bluetooth quality though. As far as I know, the dock only provides charging and audio output capabilities. Do you also have the issue when your phone isn't plugged into the car dock and linked with your MyGig system? If so, you might need to make a warranty claim and get a replacement phone.

This "only" happens when the phone is in the car dock when the charger is slid down and into the phone.
I stopped my local verizon store this afternoon and tried another dock and it did the same thing.
The service rep said when the phone is put into the dock a magnet in the dock makes the phone go into car dock mode and adjust the speaker volume for hands free and nothing can be done about it without changing to a different brand of dock. I tore my dock completely apart... They're is no magnet anywhere. I am stumped.

Anyone get the 3.5mm plug to work on the car dock / desk cradle after flashing DL30?
I thought the requirement was 2.2, but can't seem to get it to work.
It works
on both the car dock app and music app there is a phone icon. Click it. It will change the output from the phone to the dock.

It would be nice to have a toogle widget so that it wouldn't app dependent.

I can't find the icon. Does out only appear when the phone its in the dock? Can you use programs other than Music Player (such as Pandora, Listen, etc.)?
When you place the phone in the dock and the app launches (car dock or desk dock) select the icon. I would imagine once you have done this you can run another app (like pandora) and it should work

Anyone get the app to launch on dock when using Launcher Pro? Before a hit of the home key would launch the app, but now that doesnt seem to work. Anyone?

That's correct. Once you select the icon in the car dock app, just go back to your home by hitting the back button and launch any other app and it should play through the dock. I confirmed with Pandora and SlingPlayer.
You wont see the icon on the car dock or music player unless it is actually docked.
Hope this helps.
I get the steering wheel icon in the notification bar but the app didn't launch. Does it show on the car dock app?
Edit: I was a delta alpha. I located said button in the car stock program. I was confused because the dock didn't automatically pop up like it did in previous versions. I had to start it while in the dock. My only complaint now is that I have to manually switch it every time.

Has anyone else noticed that the sound quality is severely degraded when running through the dock instead of a direct connection to the 3.5mm jack?
I mean I'm talking absolutely terrible audio quality. Am I the only one? Try connecting a decent pair of headphones directly to the phone and then to the dock, the difference will be very, very apparent.
Try turning down your media volume on the phone while in the dock and using an external amp to control the volume. This sort of thing happens when my internal Sirius radio volume is turned up to full and then run into into the car stero.
It worked fine...sound a bit degraded though, but never the less, it works. Now byebye carrying ipod around.

My Dock has a lot of static, even when I have no sound playing. When I remove the power, the static goes away until I plug the power back in. I have tried a USB cable and the same static happens. When I have the same speaker setup plugged into the headphone on the phone, no static. Does anyone else have this issue?
Yea, noticed that too. I thought it was my cable.

I have noticed this even without the dock, mine I believe is a whine related to the charging, as it always stopped if I removed the charger while connected to radio. Only way I found to reduce it was to set the phone volume to about 13 or so, so I wouldn't have to run the car stereo quite as high of a volume.
Picked up the Verizon car dock today and what a joy it is to finally be able to use it for audio. As previously stated, you must use the official Car Cradle app to activate the 3.5mm jack. Since the app is basically crap (Bing, Verizon Navigator), I use Custom Car Doc, which allows you to choose whatever apps you want listed. I put Car Cradle on there and am golden. Just use it to activate the jack, then back out and you can use Custom Car Doc normally.
As for audio quality, it sounds great to me. Many cars add audio interference when the phone is plugged into the cig lighter. Amazon carries several cures for this. I installed a Pyramid NS12 12 Amp InLine Noise Suppressor, which was $6 including shipping, and it did the trick on my Mazdaspeed3.
I got the cardock to work, but not the desk cradle. I think in the superclean it was removed. It has the ASOP desk , there is no speaker button.
I use Alarm Clock Plus for my home dock and it has the speaker button.
I didn't like the stock car dock app, so I was using Custom Car Home for a while. That didn't have the speaker button. Then I tried Google Car Home. I could activate the speaker by going into the stock Music app, bit not from the Google Car Home app itself.
I guess ill have to buckle down and try the stock Samsung app. They suck.

After using DL30 for a few days, I have to say, the car cradle and desktop cradle both gives soo much static....
At least the car is more barable, but the desk was not barable.
I posted a request in the Apps section for someone to 'de-bing' the stock Froyo app, no result yet. What I did find, however, is that you can activate the dock audio from *any* of the apps that support it. So, you can activate it directly from the music app if you want to use the Google car dock, or you can activate it from the Stock Car dock if you choose to swap out to the AOSP music player. Just don't pull move like me and replace BOTH with AOSP apps and then kick yourself when you have to restore lol.
You know you can add extra volume to your Samsung Galaxy S3. Follow the steps.
Go to dialer, call settings and check the box 'add extra vol. to phone calls'
Watch this video.

Mine was ticked by default after the update. But you have to click the icon during a call to activate it. I can confirm it even makes speaker calls louder too.
Fabulous update by Samsung. Lots of fixes and nice little extras.
deleted?
yes. exactly...
Thanks
I wish there was a similar fix for the volume output for media. I use an xmi mini2 speaker for my phones & it's much quieter than on the s2 or any other media device I use it with.

Same same same here... I also have x-mini 2 speaker and found that the audio output is too low on S3 as compared to my BB curve 8520 (loudest yet).
Is there a way to enable extra volume without tapping on that button which crops up only after you're connected to the other end on a call?
I don't like the idea of tapping that button after every dial-in. In general the S3's volume is low for all purposes (music and calls).
I really wonder, why didn't Samsung ensure that the S3's volume matches the volume of a $10 Nokia phone?
i have already used this feature

1st OMG? Which is $10 mobile from Nokia? 2ndly, Sadly No. You have to tap on that button everytime. May be in next updates.
that's great. u pro
The problem is, this button doesn't remain as default on next call on Lollipop 5.0.1.
Hi, I just got my nexus 4 a few days ago. I was using Samsung Galaxy S3 before.
I was happy with the ability of SGS3 detecting headphones and shows headphone related apps (music/video players) in notification bar.
Is there any mod or apps that have such functions? Thanks!
There's an option in the sound settings menu to launch the music app when headphones are plugged in. But this is CM. Not sure if it's available in stock ROM.
I'm aware of the TouchWiz function you're referring to. The closest thing I can think of to replicate it is to use Tasker to set up a profile to change your homescreen every time you plug in your headphones.

Every time I plug the headphone slowly and hear a buzz sound, Google now opens up, is there a way to prevent the app from opening when headphone is plug in?
This does not happen for me. What rom are you running?
Omega rom V22.
Same here maybe you need tick something in settings i dont know mine work
