Hi, I just got my nexus 4 a few days ago. I was using Samsung Galaxy S3 before.
I was happy with the ability of SGS3 detecting headphones and shows headphone related apps (music/video players) in notification bar.
Is there any mod or apps that have such functions? Thanks!
There's an option in the sound settings menu to launch the music app when headphones are plugged in. But this is CM. Not sure if it's available in stock ROM.
I'm aware of the TouchWiz function you're referring to. The closest thing I can think of to replicate it is to use Tasker to set up a profile to change your homescreen every time you plug in your headphones.

Ever since I installed the Froyo leak, I have no sound when the phone is in the charging dock. I don't have any speakers hooked up to it, and it used to work on 2.1. I use it for my alarm clock in the morning so this is kind of a problem. The alarm shows up on the phone but there is no sound. Is there a setting for this? I know the dock is supposed to work with speakers now but I'm hoping it will still work without them too for my alarm. Thanks!

I saw something about a setting to go from the 3.5mm jack to to phone speaker and vice versa. Anybody seen this or know where I can find it?

I have a majority of my music loaded to Google play to save storage on my phone, now if anyone doesn't know, Tasker is on sale now and I recently downloaded it. My question is if there is a way to auto play the music as soon as I plug the headphone jack in? I have it set to load play music when I insert the jack, now I am looking for a way to have it play as well... Any ideas?

I'm not sure if Tasker has a way to do this.... however I use Plug In Launcher to accomplish the same thing.
I've been eyeing that app myself.
I have tasker do exactly that, plug in headphones and Deezer app starts.

I've tried searching these forums as well as the internet and cannot find what I am looking for.
When I plug in headphones or a USB there is a little animation at the bottom. I have searched my settings and cannot find how to disable this. It is quite annoying. At first it was neat. Now, it is a bother.
If it's the little pop up at the bottom of the screen when you plug into your pc then I believe its System/usbautorun.iso
There's a debloat list thread in general section I believe it's covered on the first page.

I think its neat. Plus I don't think it hurts anything.
Would be cool to hook that action and change the launch point. I think some apps on the Play store can do this with the audio jack. I think I remember seeing a setting in an app that lets you control the headset button actions. There was an option for auto launch on insertion.
Nothing wrong with the anima IMO. To me, its about the thought and detail which just smoothes out the experience.

Plug and pop. There are internal dock hooks for app sliders, pops, ect.
Every time I plug the headphone slowly and hear a buzz sound, Google now opens up, is there a way to prevent the app from opening when headphone is plug in?
This does not happen for me. What rom are you running?
Omega rom V22.
Same here maybe you need tick something in settings i dont know mine work

Hi all,
I'm going through a very strange behaviour on my Note 4 that I didn't have on the Note 2, pumping sound or in other words, a very high compression level. What I mean is when I turn the volume up it goes up but suddenly goes down (only the sound, not the sound control) and depending on the music style or volume it goes up and down like a clipping prevention system or something like that. My note is the 910C, stock NJ4, rooted.
Thanks for your help.
Try "Poweramp", go to sound settings (screen with a lot of dials), switch on "Limit".
Try if the effect is still there.
Issue sounds like dynamic range limiting.

Exactly what I'm using. I did already tried to turn "limit" off. No difference. I believe the issue is with Poweramp itself as I don't have the same issue with the default android player.

I think I answered my own question. Poweramp is the bad guy. I tried PlayerPro and had no issues with the pumping effect.

Had the same problem with PowerAmp.
Go to Settings>Audio>Advanced Tweaks and disable Direct Volume Control.
That fixed it for me.
