Hi,
I rooted my N9005 on nordic MJ3 using Kingo. Then I upgraded to MJ7 using Mobile Odin to keep root and Knox 0x0. Can I downgrade to MJ3 using Mobile Odin without tripping Knox and keeping my root?

No you have MJ7 bootloader already and cannot be downgraded... to any firmware before MJ7. So don't even try to flash in ODIN any earlier build as it will fail and possibly softbrick ur phone.
Mobile Odin does not flash bootloaders to my knowledge, so I should still be on the MJ3-bootloader.
It will not work
You will egt a bootloop as the mj7 bootloader wont accept anything prior to mj7

Thank you for the replies.
According to the application Device info I'm still on The N9005XXUBMJ3-bootloader (see screenshot) so I thought it would be possible, but I won't try if it will just soft-brick mye phone.
Well I was bored and did the downgrade to MJ3 with Mobile Odin since I was sure that it would work because I'm still on the MJ3-bootloader. The only precaution I took was to keep the MJ7-modem, as not to mess up the EFS-folder.
And it worked great! I had to reroot the phone using Kingo, but otherwise everything works as normal and I'm still Knox 0x0. Now I hope that my batterylife gets back to normal again, as it was horrendous on MJ7.
Interesting!

So it seems that a downgrade with Mobile Odin is possible as long as you're going to the same firmwareversion as your bootloader. I've had some bad experiences with the EFS-folder and downgrading on the Galaxy S3, so I just left the modem untouched.

Thanx for the advice, it worked well! And you're right, you must not downgrade the modem, or you'll end up with softlocks (it happened to me at first downgrade attempt) I used mobile odin to downgrade (and cleared "modem" and "modem #2" entries).

Hi Guys .
i am planning to buy a Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005 Snapdragon S800 Version but i have some questions .
First i dont care about warranty so i dont have any problem with KNOX Void Warranty 0×1.
i read that "It isn’t possible to downgrade to KNOX-disabled firmwares/bootloaders (An attempt sets 0×1) (even though some people state, downgrade is possible when omitting the bootloader file in a firmware package). By downgrading from KNOX-enabled to KNOX-disabled firmware, your devices will be locked to installation of newer firmwares."
and ". If you try to downgrade to KNOX-disabled system(MGA for example) your device will be flaged as KNOX Void Warranty 0×1 and will get a special lock – you won’t be able to update to any KNOX-enabled firmware even by ODIN. Samsung’s 4.3 update is KNOX-enabled, so if you tried to downgrade to KNOX-disabled firmware(for example MH8->MGA), you won’t be able to install 4.3 update."
so this mean if the The KNOX flag being tripped i wont be able to flash (install) any stock roms (newer builds) .
You can always upgarde no matter what knox warranty says

I think you took your qutes from a sgs4 forum, where android4.2 is NOT and andoid 4.3 is knox enabled

Hey guys.
I recently got my new Note 3 (N9005, unlocked, no carrier) and upgraded it to the latest MJ7 FW. Now when I started to look for ways to root it, without triggering that KNOX counter, I couldn't find any clear info on it. Is it possible on the latest MJ7? If it is, how? Have anyone tried it?
Oh, just to make it clear - I'm aware of that "Root De La Vega" but first couldn't find working link to the scripts and second I couldn't find any info about whether it triggers the KNOX counter on MJ7 FW?
No that is not possible yet, because you are on the 'new' bootloader now, which prevents the RDLV method. I read that also kingo and vroot triggered knox. Sorry man, but for now it's better to wait for some smart developer to come up with a solution...
And going back to older FW is not an option? I mean downloading old FW from sammobile and using Odin dropping this older FW?

Downgrade isn't possible. U'll end up with boot loops if you try.
If u want root without triggering knox, then you'll have to wait until another exploit is found.

I tried kingo and vroot on my Note 3 (SM-9005, Firmware version MJ7). They both failed to root the device. But the KNOX remained 0x00, meaning that the warranty was still valid.
So, what do u mean by ' I read that also kingo and vroot triggered knox.' Does it apply to MJ7? Or did someone succeed rooting the Note 3 with Firmware version MJ7 and end with voiding the KNOX warranty (0x01)?

There is NO WAY at the moment to root MJ7 without triggering Knox... Period...
If you needed root you should've rooted it before update to MJ7 and then updated with Mobile ODIN Pro...But that ship hasn't only sailed, its been hit by an iceberg and sunk....
Thx anyway, I have to wait before new approaches are revealed since I'd like to keep the KNOX flag 0x00.

Hello,
I want to root my device and I want to keep KNOX 0x0.
I know that there is Universal Root de la Vega v0.2 thread that will keep knox 0x0 , The problem is that i don't know which firmware to choose.
There is 3 diffrent country/carrier(Singapore (SingTel). Singapore (StarHub), Singapore), with the same AP/CSC/MODEM.
AP: N9005XXUDML2
CSC: N9005OLBDMK2
MODEM: N9005XXUDMJ7
How i can know which firmware to download and use it on Universal Root de la Vega v0.2?

Could I use the new URDLV version 4 to get the latest version of the phones software and keep root?
Is it easy? Do I have to download a stock rom to modify?

Yes you can. 2 ways.
1) Download the whole rom and URDLV it and flash with odin
2) Download the whole rom and flash with mobile odin pro with everroot turned on.
Either way you need to download the full rom first.

Mobile odin needs root to begin with. So if you root you most probably gonna trip your knox, so mobile odin is the least of your worries.

Oh so you have fallen into this category which is a knox walking time bomb. At the moment your knox will not trip. But you are rooted with new bootloader., There is a high chance your knox will trip when you try a factory reset.
As to whether you can safely update with mobile odin pro, this I am not sure. Hope someone else can give you the answer.
Hi XDA people,
Just found this workaround for rooting latest 4.4.2 stock firmware without tripping Knox.
This method downgrades the firmware(System & Kernel) on your device to N7100XXUEMK4 except for the bootloader.
Dont even try to downgrade the bootloader as this isn't possible.
What you need:
1.Odin v3.09
2.Stock official N7100XXUFND3 firmware on your device.
3. A device with Knox Warranty Void: 0
Procedure:
1.Download N7100XXUEMK4 Stock Rom from HERE
2. Open the downloaded file. You will find 4 .tar.md5 files and an Odinv3.09 zip file inside.
3. Extract the Odin file and setup Odin on your PC.
4. Next extract the file named AP_N7100XXUEMK4_2099172_REV04_user_low_ship.tar.md5
5. Load this file into AP tab on Odin. Connect your phone in Odin mode and flash this file.
( Note : You have to flash only the AP file from Odin. Do not flash the other files namely CP, CSC, BL)
6. Now once the phone has rebooted go back to download mode and check if Knox has tripped or not.
7. Next use Saferoot from HERE to root your device.
(You would find the guide on how to root using saferoot easily over HERE
8. Now if saferoot was able to root your device then you must be rooted without tripping Knox. :good:
9. Now you can easily flash your official firmware through mobile odin. Select Everroot option on Mobile odin while flashing the new firmware. In this way you wont lose root access.
Known Issues:
If after rooting you want to flash custom recovery via mobile odin, or via DR.Ketan's utilities app please note that it will trip knox.
Knox remains cool until your recovery is stock. The moment a custom recovery is detected knox goes 1.
Credits:
@k1mu for saferoot

I did read them. They got knoxed means they got a BL with Knox warranty Void 0. And @paarkhi confirmed it to me
And I really don't think it would trigger knox that way because the bootloader doesn't check the integrity of the firmware on your device when you're flashing the bootloader itself.
Also it doesn't trigger Knox while it boots up the system and finds unauthorized firmware.
Because we don't have Kernel lock and secure boot like on Qualcomm based N3.

Being Knoxed is getting that extra line in the download mode.
But this doesn't throw away your warranty. Warranty is lost only when this extra line in download mode ends with 1 instead of 0
