[Q] Using ROM Manger to install CM 7 updates

I've flashed ClockworkMod 3.0.0.5 and a CyanogenMod 7 nightly. Instead of having to boot into Clockwork recovery and flash updates manually, I'm trying to use ROM Manager 3.0.0.7 to automatically update to the latest CM7 nightly. When ROM Manager tries to update, it downloads the new ROM, but when trying to flash, it quickly gives an error and reboots. Is there anyway to get ROM Manager to do it's job with the newer ClockworkMod?
Rom manager doesn't support cm7 yet. It wont until we have a release candidate according to koush.

I tried several times with different versions of the nightly. I start at stock 4.3 with root and PhilzTouch CWM.
Every time i get "set_metadate_recursive: some changes failed" E: Error in /data/media/omni-4.4-20131128-i9300-nightly.zip (status 7) installation aborted
after that i flashed stock EMG4 with odin and PhilzTouch 5.18.5 but also the same as before

You need a recent (SELinux-aware) recovery
TWRP should be properly updated

installing custom rom failed, what next

On my N10 I have TWRP 2.6.3.0
I had an old Paranoid Android Rom 4.3 3.99
I wanted to have a new 4.4.2. rom so I downloaded Omnirom & Gapps (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2487484)
In TWRP making a backup failed everytime so I took the risk of installing Omnirom without nandroid backup...
During the installing of omnirom I received a slight error:
set_metadata_recursive some changes failed
After installing I rebooted but the only thing that happens is that I get a reboot into twrp again..
Can somebody point me in the right direction? For example how to get a clean 4.4.2 zip image on my N10 and trying to flash that one?
solved: wug's toolkit did the trick

[Q] Omnirom installation fails on oppo find 5

Hi Everone,
I was using the latest ColorOS for the find 5 and decided to change to the omnirom.
My phone was rooted and so i've installed TWRP Custom Rec.
I downloaded the omnirom nightly for the find 5 aswell as Gapps and the Modem 4.1 file.
Once in TWRP Recovery i've chosen to install the omnirom.zip from my SD card.
It starts to install and then says:
-formatting system
-extracting system
-Symlinking
-Set_metadata_recursive: some changes failed.
-E: Error executing updater binary in zip ' (sdcard)
-Error flashing zip (sdcard, path...)
-Updating Partition Details...
--FAILED--
The problem now is that i cannot get beyond the TWRP recovery screen.
It's showing me the menu and its options but for the last 4 hours i've been googling and asking for help but so far no succes.
The Rom is not installing and i cannot exit from the TRP rec. menu.
Any thoughts?
*update*
When the battery died, i recharged it and it booted again to the TWRP recovery screen after displaying the message
"Touchscreen Firmware update in Progress. Please Wait...

Can't boot to recovery.

Phone is Lenovo A6000, not plus. I installed multiple TWRPs, 3.1.0 and 2.9 something.
I even installed CWM, still couldn't boot to the recovery.
Now, I know how to flash with fastboot, and I know how to boot. Booting doesn't work at all, it says "booting" and never finishes.
Flashing says "okay" and I reboot, do a reboot to recovery, and I get put into bootloader/fastboot.
Any help? I just bought the phone today, no one messed with it.
Edit: Nevermind. CWM installed. How do I install TWRP, so it works? Also, forgot to mention that the phone has the latest stock rom, 4.4.4.
Edit#2: While trying to install "TWRP-3.1.0-Lenovo-A6000.img",
I got an error.
"Can't open /tmp/update.zip (bad)"
"Installation aborted."
Edit#3: Same error with multiple TWRP images.
First of all the twrp 3.1.0 is meant for nougat roms. Since you are flashing that recovery on KitKat rom which it won't support. So first try updating phone to stock lollipop. Then flash twrp 2.8. then take a complete backup(most important) and save it on SD card. After that flash any rom you want. If you are flashing marshmallow or nougat rom then after flashing rom flash 3.1.0 twrp.
I have long ago (10 minutes after last edit) fixed the problem already by flashing stock firmware through some weird software, and then started updating to latest lollipop firmware, and then installed TWRP 3.1 and then installed RR android version 7.1.2. But, thank you for trying to help. I hereby ask a moderator to close the thread because the problem was resolved. Thank you.
