Any Kernel bootloops - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

I am on Sacs 4.3 v5 ROM, and unable to flash any kernels without getting stuck at the "Samsung Galaxy S4" boot screen. It will just sit there and loop over and over, and I have to dirty flash the ROM to get it to boot.
I've tried flashing both KT kernel, as well as a stock MJA kernel, to no avail. The phone is fairly new, and came with MJA installed, so unfortunately I've got Knox.
Any help in being able to flash Kernels on my phone would be awesome!

The new update of sacs rom is mk2 i believe. So mja kernels will not work with mk2 will just cause bootloops. Reflash the rom again and stick to its kernel that it comes with.

[Q] i337 S4 MF3 - SafeStrap Rom Installation

Hey All!
I get the feeling I'm probably just doing something wrong, not flashing something, etc etc.
Managed to root my MF3, install SafeStrap, and create a new rom slot.
All that was pretty easy, but I'm stuck trying to install a rom to the new slot.
I'm trying to install Vision X:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2391142
I've ROM'ed phones in the past, flashed modems and GAPS, things like that. What I've been doing:
1) Flash Vision X Rom
2) Flash SafeStrap MF3 Kernal
3) Flash LokiDoki (Found here from Vision X: http://www.androidrootz.com/2013/10/vision-x-rom-for-galaxy-s4-gt-i9505t.html)
After this process, I reboot to System, but the phone just begins to boot loop =/
Obviously I can just jump back to stock, which is fully functional. If someone could be so kind as to point out my (presumably) really silly mistake, I would be grateful!
Problem is that Vision X is a 4.3 rom. Since you are on MF3, the only roms that you can install is 4.2.2 Touchwiz roms.
U need to update to MK2 4.3 firmware first. .... follow my thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=49797738.... Before u install custom rom. ....
Swyped from MK2 Dark Venom SS Edition
Thanks for the answers guys!
I'm going to try writing in MF2!

[Q] No sound after NAE Modem upgrade.

I have a sprint galaxy s4 and I am currently on Sacs Rom 4.3 v5.6 with the MF9 bootloader and Modem. I am Trying to upgrade to his 4.4.2 rom but whenever i flash the NAE modem it says in the about section of setting that the NAE modem is installed but there is no sound at all no sound at all. I flashed the modem through ODIN for PC. I have looked at other post here in the forums and seen other fix it successfully but it doesn't seem to help me at all. I have follow the step SACS23 recommends and still same issue. then after multiple reboots i can get get to the home pages and then it starts to freeze and get force closes. I can't post in the development thread yet or i would do so.
Are you using the NAE modem in sacs thread or Unknownforces. If using the one in sacs try flashing the Unknownforce one.

Update
I restored my Galaxy S4 back to stock 4.2.2 (bootloader, modem, OS) and flashed the NAE modem and it was successful and now there is no issues with SACS 4.4.2 V2 ROM. No FC's or freezing, wifi, toggles. Everything seems to be working fine except 3minit but 4.4.2 is new so its going take a few weeks or so.

S4 I337 4.4.2 rooting/flashing

Hey guys,
I successfully downgraded to MK2 from NB1 after taking the OTA update several weeks ago. I have rooted the MK2 and installed SS 3.72 with success on installing the recovery. I have tried multiple times following the guides on updating through ODIN to 4.4.2 again using GoldenEye and SkyFall and CM ROMs with no success. Each attempt ends with the phone not loading past the boot screen. It isn't bootlooping but pausing after the boot screen and not doing anything. What have I done wrong? I am getting tired of using this 4.3 rooted stock rom with no wifi. My data bill is going to be through the roof.
If you would have read the entire downgrade post you would know that there is a simple fix for WiFi.

I understand that there is a wifi fix for 4.3. However, that was not my main issue. I am trying to upgrade to a rooted 4.4.2 and followed the guide to a T as far as I know multiple times. Not having wifi between 4.3 and 4.4.2 was expected as I did not expect to be on 4.3 this wrong. I would really appreciate help on getting up to 4.4.2. The ROMs are not loading after the boot animations. Any ideas?
Nevermind guys. I decided to just revert back to stock 4.4.2 via Odin. I appreciate all the work by the devs to put up these guides for us to follow, keep up the good work guys.

[Q] Installing Samsung I9505 MIUI ROM on AT&T Galaxy S4 (I337)

I have been searching the forum for hours now, but could not find a definite answer. Please help.
First question: Is it possible to install Samsung I9505 MIUI ROM on I337 ?
Second question: If possible, can someone direct me to a tutorial?
I am asking this about Samsung Galaxy S4 i337 ( USA AT&T version) on 4.4.2
I would bet it is NOT possible for your i337. You say your on 4.4.2, so the only recovery available for your device is Safestrap. Since your bootloader is locked you CANNOT flash custom kernels. To run AOSP/CM/ and most likely MIUI required a different kernel than stock kernel. Safestrap on your device can ONLY run Touchwiz based Roms due to needing a stock kernel.
If you had the Original firmware like MDB or MDL and used Loki bootloader bypass you can run AOSP/CM based Roms and more than likely MIUI as well. With the Loki bypass those on MDB or MDL CAN FLASH custom kernels.

Thank you for the response. Then my new question: is there a version of MIUI that uses stock kernel? I remember reading that some people installed MIUI on bootloader locked galaxy s4 with Safetrap.
I haven't seen a MIUI thread at all. Sorry I could not be of any help with that. How old is the thread you saw? Point it out and I can take a look. Phones with MDB or MDL may have been able to since they use regular TWRP/CWM for recovery, but never seen one for Safestrap.

I am still on an older android, and rooted with recovery. How would one go about flashing the i9505 on here (i337)

[Q] Trouble installing custom recovery to install a custom ROM on Galaxy S4 I337 NC1

Okay, so I'm almost positive there is probably a thread for this, but I'm having trouble finding exactly what I'm looking for and very new to doing all of this on my own. I usually have a buddy help me out (aka he does it all).
I am running 4.4.2 Kit Kat on NC1 and I was finally able to root my device using TowelRoot. I've been trying for days now to install ClockworkMod custom recovery, but to no avail. Odin has failed, the command prompt method has failed, and Rom Manager app has failed. Is there just no compatible builds for any of this? I'm not entirely sure how this all works or why any of it is failing. What can I do to install CWM or TWRP and get CM11 back on? I need all kinds of explanation, so don't skimp on the details! Thanks guys!
You can't install clockwork. You have to use safestrap. Read the all things mk2, nc1 thread. It will tell you just about everything you need to know. Is an awesome thread and how I learned everything about this phone.

Awesome! That's exactly the direction I'm looking for! Thank you so much.
No problem at all. We've all needed help on here from time to time. Good luck.
Great advice above. To add to it you will NOT be able to use CM11 on your device at this time or probably ever. Also you will NOT be able to ever flash CWM or TWRP recoveries.
You can ONLY use safestrap recovery which ONLY allows flashing Touchwiz based Roms.
You can ONLY flash Touchwiz based Roms because with Safestrap it will NOT flash any custom kernels. A custom Kernel is need to flash CM11, AOKP, and other AOSP Based roms.
You also CANNOT downgrade your bootloader as it is locked down hard. The locked down boot loader is why all above cannot work for your device. ONLY the original phones that came with MDB or MDL firmwares were able to use the Loki Bootloader Bypass, which allowed for flashing CWM or TWRP recoveries and then allow ANYTHING like any custom Roms (also based or Touchwiz based), flash custom kernels, flash anything. But any phone updated to the MF3 firmware or newer the boot loader was locked down too much to do much.
