Hello People...
In a week I'm going to be able to get a LG G2 in my Mobile Company.
But, I want to ask all the Owners of this Great Phone, if there is the Same Problem with the Screen of the G2 with other LG Products.
Right now I own a Optimus 4X HD and 2 months after I got it, there was this kind of dust under the Screen. Actually it's not Dust but it seems like. Also, I've been reading the Nexus Forums and there is similar problems with the Screens.
I checked the G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and I nobody has complain about this Problem in the G2 so, I want to know if the G2 could have this problem.
I really like my 4X HD but I don't want to have the seme thing in my G2. This problem is the only thing that can change my mind in any second to get a S4 or a Moto X but I really like everything about the G2.
So, how you Screen in the G2??? Any dust under the Screen???
Not so far (had for about 1 month).
no issues so far.. been flashing roms after roms since 2months ago.. no complaint whatsoever for this great phone :good:
There is something under my screen. Doesn't look like dust.

Looks like the backlighting to me.
Been using the G2 for a month now, no dust under the screen so far.

This is similar to what I have in my 4X HD... So, maybe it is a General problem from LG.
Anyway I getting the LG G2 as soon it is available in my Cellphone Company.

Good to know that. Thank You.
I have been using my G2 since before it was officially available in T-Mobile stores (they didn't even have price tags for it)... September 21st actually is when I picked it up and there is absolutely nothing beneath my screen. Keep in mind that you can see the grid for the touch panel on this phone though. It is not usually visible when the screen is on, but definitely is in the light when it is off. I think it's kinda cool personally, but it is something I hadn't seen on other phones that I have owned.
This next part is not at all what you asked, but is something that I feel I should express to a potential buyer.
By the way, in all of this time I have yet to experience the phone getting hotter than 100F even with extensive gaming, and really have had no problems at all. The only thing I have found is that, if you download an app that has some issues, particularly if it accesses the internal storage, you will definitely feel it. I had the phone heat up on a couple of apps, but it about 3/4 of the way down the phone. I promptly uninstalled said apps and the temp immediately started to decline to normal operating temperature, or about 80F. I have had other apps that also access the storage, but do not bug out and the phone stays cool as would be expected.
I have used 4X, G Pro and now G2, never encounter dust problem. Understand from local forum that some owners of 4X and G Pro have dust problems and LG SC would clean the devices free of charge

Just received my replacement for my G2 yesterday. This is the fourth one I have tried. I am amazed at the difference in this one. The hinges are nice and snug and the signal does not fluctuate wildly. No random reboots (yet) No freezes or turning itself off. The keyboard does not start launching apps randomly. The battery has been super. All the things the first three had issues with. Has HTC fixed the issues in these later batches? So far this unit seems to be on a different level. Anyone else had this excperience? IMO this is now a SUPER phone not just a good phone.
thats what people need to understand. g2's arent a bad phone. htc just made a ****-ton of bad batches of these phones. its almost like diamond in the dirt for people to find a g2 that actually meets up to customer expectation. and sadly they really arent doing much to help out instead they are hoping this can be swept under a rug
I know exactly what you're saying. This is my third G2 and, actually, the only one that works right all the time. The first two reboot a lot (this one hasn't up to now), the second got stuck on bootloader. Also, I had the hinge problem on the second.
This one is perfect, nothing wrong with it up to now.
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using Tapatalk
I'm still on my first G2 but I think I'm gonna get a replacement cause my hindges are getting pretty loose now. Its like the hindges lost their snap when I open and close it. And when the phone is closed, well it doesn't actually feel like a solid close, it fells like it will just slide open. Hopefully I don't have this problem on the next one. I really like the G2.

Still have my FIRST G2, I bought it in store on OCT 2nd. I have NO hinge issue. It did reboot on me twice, but that was because of a faulty app. The battery is finally settling in well, I unplug @ 7:45 AM every morning and usually have ~30 - 40% left at moderate use - web surfing, music and texting. This is one of the best phones ive ever owned,
I grabbed mine oct 9th, I wasn't experiencing anything most users were... as soon as i opend it up I checked to see if mine had 4gb, it did and I have had no other issues. Hinge reboots, anything. Seems like they rush, rush, rushed the first batches.

Its not a 2.2 issue.... the Droid 2 has 8 GB onboard it shows up fine.
Its a NAND issue, its locked and in only about ~1.3 user accessible. Once permanent root is avialable we shoul dbe able to us ALL of 4 GB.... though when I say 4 GB its actually ~3.7 GB

Please stop these threads, they confuse newcomers or people who just got the phone and just initiate a placebo effect for things that are a non-issue.

Could you post the serial # of these 'improved' phones? So we know what to avoid.
When you guys get replacements, do they send you refurbished ones? Or a brand new phone?
I don't trust them, if they say its a new phone but send it without the battery cover and battery, just the phone itself and ask you to send the old one in. Cause I still don't know if someone else used and sent it back to T-Mobile and changed the housing and sending them out as new. Feel me?
I'm still waiting on my 3rd G2 and so seeing how my order is "back-ordered" - i hope i get a G2 from a new batch!
3rd times the charm......... i hope
I just got my Nexus 4 (16GB) after being in Limbo 2 since Monday and when I got it today and tested the camera, there was a black mark/dot on the camera. It appears on photos and anything that accesses the camera. I've already called up Google and placed an RMA, but I'm curious if anyone else has this issue?

I think it's probably something very small stuck to the glass of the camera. Can camera's even have dead pixels?
take more photos and we can make this into a game of find the black spot!
My phone has a rattling sound when shook, or picked up quick, tapped....
Then... i started focusing with the camera and the camera focusing started to make clicking and locking sounds....
Yeh it doesn't look like a dead pixel. It looks like a speck of dust/dirt..
looks like a dead pixel to me. i had the same on my Galaxy Nexus, but the dot wasnt as big as yours. Proceed with the RMA and get a new one
How about trying to take some reference pictures. Get a sheet of paper with a grid on it and take a photo then give the camera a good (but careful) shake, then take the same photo from the same place and see if it has moved. If so, you know it's dust.
Not sure how that helps cos you can't get at the camera to clean it out. I suspect you'll need to RMA it either way

I plan on it, but I just wanted peoples opinions about it. I refuse, and I mean refuse to pay LG for any repair they do to my phone. I have never even dropped this thing and besides these issues it is in perfect shape. However my phone is rooted with a custom recovery, but since these are "hardware" issues and not "software" do you think I will have any issues?
Yes you will have to unroot it even though its not a software problem warranty's are terrible about denying people even though rooting didn't mess it up its like Chevy saying we won't repair your engine because you have custom seats and a custom radio

Lag? Maybe the tweaks caused the lags because I haven't had a single lag on my LG G3 3GB/32GB. :S

Nexus 6 is a good choice if you dont mind its size.
about that lag, i had it first when i got it. only way to fix it is to switch to ART instead of dalvik .really eaz to set and you wont believe the difference. of course no tweaks come close to it. struggled with that lag myself in first week.
also installing lollipop also removes the lag completely, of course its using ART by default and rom itself is a much better performer.
1 more thing. if you dont wanna switch to ART for some odd reason, i think the culprit is the launcher so just check nova launcher out. set it to default and restart phone.
anyway personally i love Nexus 6 but its unusable for me cause of the size but if you are ok with it, good for you.
I wanted to get n6 cos g3 had some lags .. But after i updated to lollipop V20D i changed my mind ..cos its very smooth the camera very good and bo lags at all ..good luck man with your n6 ... Just tell me which camera is better g3 or n6 ?
So far the nexus phone is awesome, but it is bare. I do miss a few features if the g3, but the dual front speakers make the switch a good move. The phone is slightly bigger than the g3, but I love it. Videos, browsing the web is so much better.
Bye Felicia!

Coming recently from the Moto X (2013 model):LG is beautiful, screen is much better.. But, on stock Android: it IS a bit slower than my Moto X was..
I wait for lollypop, hope it will solve the lag issue.
The G3 does have some lag. I even see lag on the lock screen when entering my PIN (sometimes). It's been this way since I bought the phone. Running stock rom with root, xposed, and g3 tweaksbox.
I tried the CM12 unofficial recently and it is a lot smoother than the lg rom. The only issue is that it literally eats the battery... once they get this sorted out and a stable release comes I will move over to CM on my G3.

Then they haven't been working there long enough to remember the LG Rumor debacle, or the Palm Pre. When I was fixing rumors due to shredding flex cables and faulty charging ports, our manager authorized free replacements with brand new Rumor 2s, which broke... Just as much, really. Seriously, the original Rumor's port would snap off if a baby sneezed in the same zip code. I have nightmares about that phone and the 65 billion screws it had.
The Palm Pre had the Oreo effect, where the two halves would just start twisting freely, like you were taking apart an oreo. And of course, Palm wouldn't let us repair them, so we had to just swap them with refurbs. We had people that were on their 7th, 8th, 9th devices, but didn't want a different model because of Palm loyalty, and the fact that the Pre had a REALLY nice OS, as compared to early Android.

One of the main hardware issues is the screen splitting down the middle and then becoming unresponsive.

The forum does not seem to be exploding with this issue, most we find is this thread on it here and see my post lower down that links to sprint users. All of two pages
Things are quiet because LG is replacing the screens under warranty. In my market they offer a 6 month after purchase screen replacement offer. Samsung does the same as well. This means if this problem does not occur within 6 months then it ain't going to happen.
Knowing that this issue may happen and if it does all it takes is a simple screen replacement that too under warranty means i would be less excited if this occurred. An inconvenience to head off to the service center but at least i know i will get it back very likely on the same day because this thing is easy to repair.
Not knowing this can happen otoh would be frightening.
Will be interesting what Sprint will say when I take mine in tomorrow......I will show them this for sure if I get any hassle......I just want my phone!! Grrrr!!

It's a recall that only effected the Sprint, not necessarily CDMA as Verizon is not impacted, but something Sprint added software wise that created a hardware issue. The major symptom is the screen half snow or static, but other issues such as overheating, freezes, bootloops, stuck on LG logo during boot, touch response issues and network connectivity issues. This effects all models manufactured prior to 10/5/15, in which LG modified the hardware to not have an issue with what ever Sprint does with their software. Knock on wood, the only issue I have had is the network connectivity (average 30% without signal) and constant dropping signal and jumping between 3G and LTE. Kinda a pain in the butt, but I do have to say its improved with ZV6, even though not completely gone. Mine was manufactured May 2015.
