Picked up a White Z1 C6906 - Xperia Z1 General

Hey everyone, just wanted to post here and say hello.
Just picked up a Z1 directly from Sony C6906.
also got the smartwatch 2 too.
I've been a a long time blackberry user and recently coming from a Z10.
I'm pleased with the phone so far except for the wifi is really slow, cant play any youtube videos without cutting in and out. Same network on my z10 worked fine. I have unlimited data so it's no big deal but would like to figure out why it's so slow.
Got annoyed with the charging port so I ended up getting the cradle charger which should arrive tomm.

I went to the Sony store in Yorkdale yesterday but the one they had for demo said it's bootloader unlock is not allowed so I wonder if all C6906s are the same ie. unlockable bootloader.

Yep LTE no doubt.

Me looking for same as well...
The headset that came with the Aino is white and looks just like the mw600, they probably used that headset in the promo video. However this headset lacks the oled screen and thus will not show caller id etc..

Here on eBay
You can see here on the black version that it doesn't have a real screen.
on the SE website it say that color is only black so i think there is no white one
On the promotional video, it's totally white not like the one from Aino, maybe it's just made for that video. Anyway, I am using the headset of my previous phone which is white as well, but not bluetooth...
Wel i guess i hav to settle with the black one. Is there any other brand with a white wirless headset which can b recommended?
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
the thing with some of the bluetooth headsets is that they are optimized for some mobile phones, just like the mw600 and SE phones, and some controls do not work on other phones. so before you buy you should dig a little
I have 2 questions on MW 600:
1. Does it use micro USB charger?
So that we can use the same charger as the X10.
2. Where it is possible to buy it?
I live in Italy and I can't find it nowhere. I have been a week in London and neither there I've seen it anywhere.

Fast dormancy

Recently I disabled fast dormancy using one of the dialer codes and my battery life increased greatly. I turned it back on an hour ago and battery life was poor comparitively.

thanks for that
so if i turn fast dormancy off will it use more data when im not on wifi and as a result of that cost me more?
As far as i was aware, the issue was with wifi when not connected to a network would go crazy and drain battery. If you disable wifi when leaving home for example it dont happen.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA Premium App
Very interesting:
" For this to work, both networks and smartphones have to implement the standardized version of the fast dormancy feature."
Maybe because some providers still don't support that feature a few users experience a huge battery drain due to that feature being missing from the provider side?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA App
If you have it enabled it will fall from H to 3G in 7 seconds when connection is idle, otherwise in 30 seconds. 7 seconds are to short it will lose time and battery renegotiating to H to often. Ex: when you read your rss feed it will renegtiate higher speed for every article you read, very annoying.
Belive me, you are better off by disabling it.
Does it renable itself on reboot?

Thanks for sharing the code.
I'm on T-Mobile in Essex with Galaxy S 2. I disabled fast dormancy and it completely crippled my data speeds. At home with speedtest I get up to 2000kbps. With fast dormancy disabled I was getting about 60kbps. On one run I got up to 600kbps, but generally under 100kbps.
I wonder why my speed was so badly affected?

We just need to get T-Mobile to enable the HSDPA+ service which the 3 network have. I earlier someone who had the Galaxy S 2 on 3 got over 6000kbps! - amazing!

Samsung's mobile data sucks

Ive owned several samsung models including the i9100,i777 and i9300.
Mobile data sucks compared to my 4s. Where i get 3g on iphone i get edge on s3.
The most annoying thing sometimes you have full signal, open a website and there is like a 15 second hang. Tried different modems, fast dormancy settings and nothing seems to work. Its very annoying tbh.

What the? I get the complete opposite! 4S on Vodafone UK along with most of the iPhones before it (3GS fared better) have given me some of the worst data and signal reliability I've ever experienced. Nokia's still the champ, though the S3's holding up well so far too.

My wife and i also get this in the UK, on two different networks. I've only experienced this on the S3, not the Note, Tab or S2 though.
I hope for a fix soon.
Really strange since I experienced the opposite when I upgrade from S2 to S3. Used to get like 1-1.5 down and 0.1 up, now I get like 2+ down and .5 up.
For reference: 1010 HK
Rom: WanamLite v 1.4
My results may not be relevant being from Australia but I was getting about 4-5Mbs with my HTC sensation and coming to the S3 i'm averaging 5.5-7.5Mbs. Still not as great as my work colleagues Galaxy Nexus who almost always pulls 1Mbs more when doing a speed test at the same time.

Please verify if both mobile phones are connected to the same antenna.
The S3 is blazing fast (compared to iPhones), however I've had the same issue as you.
The reason was that my provider kept (and still keeps trying) to push APN settings with a stupid HTTP-proxy which is completely overloaded and half of the time breaks the connection anyway.
Just remove the proxy IP (if any) from the APN settings, verify it's gone and try again.
If you have an account to paid VPN, you can also try this as it should give the same accelerated speed.
Yeah carrier tries to push settings on this phone.

As far as carriers go, you get what you pay for. Get a cheaper carrier, most likely you'll notice it.
My SGS3 got better reception than iPhone 4s had and on sgs3 i dont have and failed calls, which I cant say for iPhone 4s (same network provider). Also sgs3 got better Wlan reception.

Never thought I'd see these LTE speeds

I'm in Toronto, Canada and I just switched carriers from Bell to Rogers.
I was getting a constant ~60mbps down with bell and I was thoroughly impressed.
When I tried a speedtest on Rogers my jaw dropped.
Let's just say, I'm happy with the LTE radio in the Z1.

I wouldn't be too jealous, they will get this for a few months until other phones (and carriers) start using the 2600MHZ AWS band. (not to mention 20Mhz cell blocks which nobody is currently using)
Also because its in the high frequency range, its not going to pass through buildings very well.. (I'm going to guess the user above was either outside, or in essentially perfect conditions to come anywhere close to 100mbps)
I'll be much more excited once they start using the 700mhz band..

Am EE UK and i get 72.60 down and 29.19 upload. Liverpool area tho
I constantly get an absolute minimum of at least 60/60 here in Sweden which is more than I would ever need for my mobile devices, as for my home network that's a completely different story(250/250Mbit/s).
How come you guys do speed tests on LTE so frequently? I have a 3 GB data plan and recently visited a city with LTE coverage, I was shocked to see each test consumed about 60MB, after doing 4-5 (I previously thought it had a preset amount of data to download and just measured times)..
I can hit 60mbps with 1 bar on Fido, its faster than my 28mbps home internet which is kinda sad.

Finow Q1 Pro, it's a square watch available from Finow's store on Aliexpress at the moment, same spec by the looks of it as the Microwear H5, tempted to get one as I really liked the original Finow Q1
Q1 PRO seems better at the battery is bigger 720 mah vs 600 mah H5
H5 is better in camera, it has 5mp vs 2mp Q1 PRO
Q1 PRO is smaller then H5

Absolutely if you like a front facing camera (Q1 Pro) instead of a camera that points to the sky (H5). Yes it actually points to the sky not forward or front.
Just ordered the Black/Red Q1 Pro!
Does anyone have one of these yet? Any reviews/opinions?

Yup, got mine the other day, so far so good.
The UI is really good, it even has a full 'stock' settings menu like a regular phone.
My only criticism so far would be that with stock launcher you cannot add Clock skins, however if it is a 'must' for some users then Eric's clock skin launcher on Play store works fine with it.
Only had it a couple of days so not had much of a chance to test it out much, but it seems the battery is holding up good so far.
All in all I would consider it a great purchase! :good:
Good to hear it's going well. Considering buying one for my son. He's 11 and needs a way to stay in touch with me. Don't really want him to have to carry a full sized phone around.
How's the build quality?
How small does the band go?
I've been reading about people having trouble with the magnetic charging system not working on various phones because of problems with sweat/oil getting on the contacts. Hopefully you don't run into that issue!
I can't find any reviews of the watch on YouTube. If you're quick you could be the first

Hi, the Finow pictures only shown "Frequency Band" WCDMA: B1(2100mhz)/B2(1900mhz)/B8(900mhz). Does this watch support B5(850mhz) and can we set the screen resolution size to 320 for this watch?

No idea on the band frequency to be honest, and screen resolution 320?
Edit: using MTK Engineer App displays:
GSM Mode:
EGSM900
DCS1800
PCS1900
UMTS Mode
WCDMA-IMT-2000
WCDMA-PCS-1900
WCDMA-GSM-900
LTE Mode
Band 3
Band 7
Band 20
Band 39
Band 40
Band 41
Don't know if this helps or not?
screen resolution can be set on build. prop - it is currently set at 120
Thanks for your information, I have confirmed with Finow that this watch does not support B:850mhz.

hard to answer as people use their devices differently.
But I get 2 days on a full charge with light/normal use, however I work from home, so only have WiFi on airplane mode on as I don't need calls at home, general use is checking messages, social media, a few video's etc

Hi, I just received mine and am in mixed mood state.
The watch has improved compare to the original model except the screen (240x240) and thickness but the software seems unfinished.
Some bugs are really embarrassing and I hope we will get some updates :
- Sometimes Wifi disconnect and I must reboot my net box to get it work again ! It could be related to the "NVRAM WARNING" problem (Wifi connections list)
- Phone is working but I am unable to connect in 4G/3G (France) and to set any network parameters.
- Push notifications dont come to the watch.
Did someone get rooting this device ?
Sry for my English !
Problemm !
Hi , is there any app for running that measured heart rate and distance with good visuall on the screen ?
Google fit allways crashes , and i didn't find any good app with good visual ?
