Hello everybody
I received an unlock code from T-mobile for my Vibrant, but it gives me an "unlock unsuccessful" message. I called T-mobile, and they essentially told me "it should work, sorry." I was wondering if the problem might have something to do with the fact that my phone is rooted...
And if that is an issue, can I use the nandroid method to unroot it? Odin doesn't seem to work for me; it always stops at "file analysis." I've heard that other people using Windows x64 have the same issue.
Look at the IMEI in the e-mail they sent you. Make sure they copied right. It will be on the top left 3rd line down.
Yeah, the IMEI is right. Also, I've heard that it's possible for these phones to be hardlocked... is there a chance that the seller accidentally hardlocked it before sending it to me?
I don't think so. T-Mobile would be the one doing the hard-locking.
Is there any other way for me to unlock the phone?
I was rooted when I requested the unlock code from tmo - it worked as expected
You didn't get your phone directly from tmo?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
I have to wait a month until i can get mine unlocked.
I recent;y had another phone unlocked from them.
I didn't buy it from tmo, but I don't see why that would make a difference... they still gave me the unlock code based on the IMEI I gave them. They say they can't give me another unlock code, and I'm currently 7000 miles from the nearest T-mobile store (that was their "solution" - go to the store). Any idea whether it'd be worth it to try sinking $30 into one of the eBay unlockers?
I have the same problem with my vibrant. i purchased an unlock code from ebay with 100% success rate but when I entered the code: "network lock request unsuccessful"
I have the same problem with my vibrant. i purchased an unlock code from ebay with 100% success rate but when I entered the code it says "Network Lock Request Unsuccessful". Apparently the only way around this is to remove the Network Lock all together. Removing the network lock is done through unlocking software but unfortunately there is no software compatible with the Vibrant as of yet. Getting another code will not work either as your IMEI will give you the same code again. i just purchased an I-Smart SIM card, hopefully this will work. I will keep you posted
Don't buy from ebay EVER!!
Unlock codes are free from TMO
The sent me my unlock code 3 days after I bought it. It didn't work at first. I called TMO apparently my IMEI was truncated. they sent new unlock code and it worked perfectly.
Remember if you put your unlock code in to many times unsuccessfully, there is nothing TMO can do to get it unlock. It has to go back to Samsung
The reason I asked if you purchased the phone from someone else but TMO you might want to contact the seller and see if they can help you out.
they must have given you the wrong unlock code. Also, if you entered wrong unlock code 3 times, your phone will freeze and you would have to buy a unfreeze code online.
No wait unlock code

I go mine unlocked on ebay. It coast me $29 but well worth it. Took the seller 3 days to get the code and it worked.
Also T-MOBILE does not hard lock these. they can become hard locked if you enter the unlock code unsuccessfully 3 to 5 times. If you got that message once... i would not try again with that code. I would just get it from Ebay... T-mobile does not have a good track record with unlock codes for the Vibrant or the Garminfone

That is the reason I bought it from eBay. It took 15 seconds of my time, and the seller sent it within a few hours. By contrast, I have to figure out whom to email at Tmo, give them time to generate it, and then get it back to me. Certainly not worth my $30 to do more and wait 3 days.

Uhm...you can get one for free even if you don't have tmo? Who do I send this email to?
I'm wondering if anyone knows the number of digits the unlock code for the GS2 should be.....I received a code from cellunlocker.net and due to poor instructions and myself being uncontrollably impatient to use the phone on telus put in only part of the code..or so i beleive.
They sent the code in this format NETWORK:=48684XXX;PROVIDER:=69599XXX;SUBNET:=85256XXX;DEFREEZE:=05193XXX.
I've used 2 attempts and REALLY want to know its right before i enter it again, so i'm wondering how many of these 4 sets of numbers do I enter?
Sorry for the double post but I wanted to make sure it wasn't overlooked.
how much do they charge?

Oh, it was cellunlocker.net.
I tried putting the first 8 and the second 8 seperately once each...
I'm too afraid to try putting all 4 sets of numbers in now until I know for sure since I only have 1 attempt left. ; ; Stressin' me out lol

I've tried entering NETWORK:=48684XXX THEN PROVIDER:=69599XXX
Both seperately, making my 2 attempts. I havent tried subnet or unfreeze.
I'm thinking i might have to enter network, provider and subnet together? Or should I include unfreeze as well?
I got mine from them to, tariable customer service i called to cancel the order and the their amazing phone dropped my call 3 times, and theirs still charging me for the code, bull****.
Anyways you want the network unlock buy its self, I hate to say if you did not tape you trying to put it in you have just wasted 40 dollars!
Ok... this is my admission of temporary retardation.
I mistook my sim-lock for the network lock key. fml lol
I've figured this out, the network code worked, thanks for the help guys.

I have to admit that everything about that website makes it look like its a very elaborate scam eg: The 800 number goes to an obviously computer generated female voice, rings 5-6 times and disconnects. (this was during business hours) + Many seemingly fake testimonials and my code took 3 hours longer than the longest average time but it turned out ok.
I seem to have a problem here.
So I entered my IMEI (yes I triple checked, it is the correct one). Selected Samsung manufacturer, then I selected Galaxy SII model and then selected Bell network.
I received the similar email as you, Yajirobe, and I turned the phone off, inserted my Rogers SIM card and then obviously turned on the phone.
I inserted the NETWORK 8 digits values and it still says that what I entered is unsuccessful.
Yajirobe, may I ask what you mean by "I mistook my sim-lock for the network lock key"?
You guys actually paid to unlock your phone???
Honestly, I have tried cellunlocker.net many times, and it worked flawlessly each time. One thing I dont get is I always got a SIM unlock code, threw it in there and bam wham thank you ma'am.
What are you guys facing exactly. I used the service b4 on 3 mt4g and on sgs vibrant. Just got a Virgin brand sgs2. Please advise.

Some people don't want to root n flash to void their warranty.
OP, I am glad it worked for you, I was gonna offer to give you the money back if it failed lol...cus I recommended u to use it.
Anyways cellunlocker.net does look like a scam site but they do work. They are posting its business on howardforums.com (good mobile website) and haven't got any troubles yet so I know they are reliable.
Also I would like to know what you mean by " "I mistook my sim-lock for the network lock key"?" too, lol I didn't quite get that either.

I had my telus sim card set with a pin, but the sim lock screen looked different on the galaxy than on my milestone. Pin locks are set up by the user only and are off by default, which makes it even more silly that I didnt catch on for so long. lol
Way to tell the difference for sure is if there is an unlock button and a dismiss or skip option as the sim lock cannot be skipped.
I'm still unsuccessful to unlock my phone! I emailed and sent videos to cellunlocker.net and they keep giving me alternative insctructions to unlock and none work. I may expect a reimbursement soon.
In the mean time, I just rooted my Android and installed that Galaxy S2 SIM Unlock. It says that it would not find the unlock code!
I don't know what else to do!

Hi,
I have bought a used AT&T and bought a SIM unlock code from ebay from a seller with thousands of sells and 99.9% good rating.
The problem is that the code does not work. When I try to use it I just receive a message "Network Unlock Request Unsuccessful"?
Is there any solution for this or I have nothing to do and the device cannot be unlocked?
Thank you.

Contact seller because
1) you miss typed imei
2) he miss typed it
3) he gave you wrong code

I have checked that the IMEI which he based the unlock code on and it was correct. I am afraid that the guy which sold me the phone tried to unlock it too many times before selling the the phone. Is there any way to confirm it or override the lock and use the code successfully?
Thank you.

Anyone actually had this happen? I've heard rumors of a hardlock, but I've never seen an actual case. If someone has, was there some kind of message that appeared to indicate the hardlock?
well I have the same issue. Bought the phone through ebay, and after 7 days finally came to Croatia and I was so happy cause it doesn't sell in Europe. Then I had to input sim network unlock code which I didn't have, thought it was sim unlock code so after trying couple of times I guess I locked it. I bought the cone over ebay again for 2.30$ (so cheap) from unlock_fusion seller and they sent it to me in 5minutes! Of course the code didn't work, they refunded the money and I was stuck!!!
Now I gave it to service guys and they said that they will do it for 200kn - cca 40$. Now I'm waiting for feedback and if they do make it I will tell you how they did it.
Hope it will be ok because otherwise I have a 300$ toy which does not work.

i heard that if you leave the phone to sit on the "input sim unlock code" screen for a little while, it will reset back and you can put a code in.
i think i heard 30min. sucks but worth a try?

I also heard that it can take up to 8h with that screen on, I left mine during all night but did no good, but the service guy told me that motorola phone counter counts only when the screen is active (there is light on).

Definitely no hard lock. The previous owner tried the unlock code at least 20 times, I tried it another 10. But after flashing the radio through a couple of versions, I was able to get it to finally accept that same code! Wahoo!

Guys, yesterday I was able to unlock my s5 that my brother bought from t-mobile in the US and brought to me to use it with brazilian carriers.
I purchased an unlocking code from Cellf Services for about $35, I paid + $5 for the instant service they provide which they promise to delivery the code in less than 30 minutes. I indeed received mine in less than 30 minutes. :good:
They sent me an email telling the codes were ready and gave me an url. I was impressed. I thought I was buying only the network unlocking code, but they gave me NETWORK, PROVIDER, SUBPROVIDER and DEFREEZE codes.
Somewhere in the site, I think in the terms and conditions, they say if you record a video of the unlocking proccess, upload to youtube or to metacafe, and send them the link they'll refund you. That might have been the first terms and conditions I have ever read in my life... :cyclops:
Well, I didn't record the video of the proccess because I was at work and was too worried about the possible region lock :crying:
Whatever, I inserted the non suported sim card I wanted to use, booted the beast and was propted for the "SIM network unlock pin", typed the network code provided by cellfservices and boom, unlocked :victory: . Worked like a charm. No region lock in my case, or maybe it's the same region since it's south america... who knows...
As of the other codes, I didn't test them, only needed the network one, so I don't know if they'll work, probably will...
Now I'm happy like a chick in the dumpster.

You think, every SIM card even in other region, it will work? I'm planning to buy one and send it to the Philippines.
Firstly you have to make a minimim 5 minutes call from country where you bought your phone. After then regional lock will be removed

I can't say. I've searched extensively about the region lock on the S5 before purchasing the sim unlocking code. Cellunlocker, one of the unlocking sites I found, explicitly stated that "*All USA and European Carriers ARE subject to Region Locking". However, saying they're 'subject to region locking' doesn't mean they definetly are.
There's a BGR.com article (google 'bgr galaxy s5 region lock') confirming the region lock of the european S5 with a picture of one of the box stickers warning it.
Are you planning to buy one in USA?
Mine I'm almost sure wasn't region locked. I am not sure if mine came with it since my sister in law opened the box to avoid paying customs duty and was missing one of the stickers, but if there was one of this sticker, she wouldn't have bought it.
The official way to region unlock the S5 would be making calls that sum 5 minutes on the region it was purchased.
Check the box for this sticker prior buying. If you can, use the device for some time before sending it.
If you do this -- I give you no warrant -- I think you should be ok... I personally would go for it.
In my case, I might have been lucky, else I would have to wait for some weeks (maybe months) until someone managed to hack it.

All of the servers we use to get codes state on all networks that "16 digit codes are unavailable". The s10 range are 16 digit codes.
We used "Chimera" to unlock my own phone and went through no problems..
You'll need to find an unlock shop that uses this software as it appears to be the only 3rd party solution at the minute.

That makes sense then and why no one can unlock yet with the codes. Does it usually take a week or two after launch for the codes to show?
Has anyone found a Sim Unlock site for the S10 that actually worked. Hoping the codes would of been out by now.
2 days after receiving my S10+ and processing the unlock request on the first day with At&t, I received my code to unlock the phone.

Please let me know, I could have my carrier locked S10+ in my hands by the end of this week and would like to unlock it.
I submitted the request today, I'll let you know how I make out.
So I finally got the unlock done. I went thru Cellunlocker.net. The codes are apparently still not available but they offered an alternative way. After I made payment they send you an email with a link and directions.
I had to download the program AnyDesk on my PC, from there I just connected my phone and the tech did the rest. Took about 10 minutes. My phone restarted twice and aft er the s ed condition reset he had me install the sim I wanted to use, came up with the Network Code request and I entered 8 zeros. Permanent Unlock! They did give me a discount code to share RMCU10.

I went through cellunlocker as well and it took me about 2 1/2 days to get the codes, they sent me 3 codes (NCK, MCK, and RGCK). I used the 16 digits "NCK" code for mine. I put in my Google FI sim card, It asked for unlock code, and I used "NCK". Boom unlocked My S10+ was locked to Spectrum Mobile if that helps. Good luck!
I did mines on https://sim-unlock.net/ it took a day and £19.
just have a look at http://www.unlocksamsungonline.nl/en/scc it's direct unlock over USB cable so no need to wait for codes, latest security patches are supported, no need for root or downgrade. and most important, service is independant, and instant 24/7 so no need to wait for codes, just press the direct unlock botton and phone unlocked within 30 seconds.
Chimera won't do it
