Compose email font size too big - Verizon Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anybody else noticing the font size when you compose an email using the default email client is Way too big? not gmail....but the other email client. I set this up with my office exchange email, it's also the same with my other accounts in the client.
I'm posting this here because it's not rom specific. I've experienced this on Clean, HD, and Beans.

Any ideas on this
Take a sec and hit thanks if I helped or if you're in a good mood!

Press the menu button on the left when you have mail inbox open and select font size. That should be all you need to do

This does not change the compose font, it only changes the font size in the message list. I too have the same issue with default email app. i would like to be able to change the font size when composing an email.
Every other email app I tried, uses the system font size, odd that the default does not. If anyone knows how to fix, please let me know.
Thanks.

Well if you change your default font size to tiny then composing an email your font is smaller as well, just tried it and it worked for me

That does not change the composition font, for me anyway. Also, I do not want the font list in the message list to change, it is too small changing it to tiny, I just want the font size when composing and email to match the size used in the message list.

Do you mean email app or gmail? I know where the setting is in gmail, haven't looked for it in mail.

I just changed the notification sound in Settings and it used that one when I got email. I don't see any other way to change it using the default app.

It's the one for Mail not GMail. I've changed the default but it still plays Alpha. The tone has changed though because other apps using Default are using the new Tone, it's just Mail that isn't.

I had the same issue except for my sms tone. I changed it to a custom one from a sms app and it still doesnt use it.
I couldnt work it out. As far as I can tell you can't change the email notification sounds in the HTC mail app.

Unfortunately I've just had to accept this is HTCs approach to their phones. Android still appears to be an immature OS and HTC is too eager to release a product before its ready and not too eager to fix niggles after release.
All in all the HTC Desire HD feels like a phone with enormous potential but just has too many minor flaws to allow you to love it.
Zedge use to work on desire could set sms and email but it doesn't work on dhd

you need a foldr on the root of your mem card called 'Media'
inside it mae another one called 'notifications'
put your sounds in there and hey presto.....it works for me
I've done that, still doesn't work.
It's ok on Gmail, just doesn't work for the HTC client.

Weird problem: Huge font in Samsung email app

(Have Googled this problem and searched forums but not found a solution)
For some reason, when I reply to emails my signature often shows up on the recipients screen in a 72p font.
I have done nothing to the settings apart from enabling the signature and typed in a line 'Sent from my Android phone'. I've tried deleting it and re-writing it, but the same thing happens again (on both IMAP and Exchange email accounts).
I'm using the stock Samsung email app. Has anyone else encountered this? It's so stupid.
Just change the font,
Menu- More- Font Size.
Regards.

I already have that set to 'tiny' and there seems to be no way to set the font size for the signature.
Everything always looks fine when I send, but then I get replies from my colleagues laughing because my signature is huge (body font is normal size).
Did you ever figure out how to fix the HUGE font size for the email signature? I'm having the same problem and it's embarrassing when it comes over in this format on business emails.
HELP!!!

Text selection is a mess

I wish they would test things properly. Try and select text in an email you have received using either the stock email app or gmail, and most likely any other app too. Frigging impossible to select more than one word. Selecting text you have entered, however, in a compose window or in the note app works fine.

thats odd, I just tested it on received emails in both the stock email app and the gmail app and it seems easy enough to me, press and hold anywhere in the text in an email until the little quotation things appear, then drag them to either end of the text you need..

I can confirm that this is happening. Running on rooted stock.
Sony has to address this issue.
Works perfectly in Gmail for me, with both wrapped text and full HTML mails. Sure it's not because of some modification you made?

Try wrap-selecting text in the Chrome address bar.

Select text works fine for me for email app.
Wrap-selecting in chrome works fine too. Just double tap the address you will be able to copy the whole url. It is just impossible if you want to select & copy part of the link only, which i find it rare to do so.

Pasting the entire URL is not the case here, that works.
But wrap-selecting doesn't work in several cases, and the Chrome address bar is just one of many. Coincidentally wrap-selection in Chrome works in official Vanilla Android from google, which makes this a bug.
If you want another nice bug here's one:
Go to developer options.
Set Window Animation, Transition Animation, and Animator Duration to off.
Reboot phone and see if the phone even works. Nothing works.
Go to settings and reset the same options to 1x again. Reboot.
Now you're back to a forcefully animated environment.
EDIT: I have posted both of these bugs on Sony's forum in the Xperia Z bugs / issues noticed thread.

Hmmm. Tried on another few email messages. Completely messed up on some, perfect on others. Yet the ones it messed up on work perfectly on my nexus 4.
Not to mention it was seriously annoying at the time as I was trying to copy a phone number in a signature in the stock email app. While google can recognise phone numbers, and allow a top to bring up the dialer, in gmail but can't be bothered to implement it in the stock email app is beyond annoying. So is the fact that sony can't be bothered to add it like samsung do.
100% stock
Works perfectly fine here
Like I mentioned earlier, it depends on the email. Some work as expected while others are a complete mess.

Native email app Arabic font viewing issue 4.4.2

Hi all:
I have a GT-i 9500 updated to Kitkat 4.4.2, in Samsung naitve email app I have problem.
If I got an email the app doesn't show sender name if the sender name have Arabic font character, you can imagine how much this thing annoy me.
I tried to play with setting but nothing work.
I don't have problem viewing Arabic font in any other app, just in Samsung email app

Maybe try using another email app as alternative? No used arabic font before so no issue for me on the email app.
I just did that, I'm using now Blue Mail & I really love it so much it is much more useful than native app.
