Hello people of XDA I'm new here so hi! So I thinking about getting an extended battery for my Galaxy Note 3 but don't know which to get. I'm thinking about the 10000mah ZeroLemon, or the 6400mah Anker or Hyperion. The Anker and Hyperion look similar out of the 2 what should I get? The ZeroLemon has amazing battery life but the case looks thick, but all of them are thick. So out of the 3 batteries which do you guys think I should get?
Side note: What are the thicknesses of the Anker, Hyperion and ZeroLemon batteries with the huge backs on?

ZL10k All the way.. if you worry about thickness then stick with the original battery.
Thickness will be about the same with all of them. Most of the extended batteries are 2 cells stacked up. The ZL is 3 cells, but with 2 of them overlapping the one that fits inside the battery bay on the phone, so you end up with it being the same thickness as a 2 cell, but with 3x the capacity instead of 2x with the others. The ZL also comes with a nice case. Having owned Hyperion and Akner extended batteries, the replacement backs are really cheap. They work, mostly, but aren't very durable and don't fit quite right in small ways. The TPU that came with the Note2 ZL was quite nice. And the new case looks even better. Hyperion used to make a TPU for the extended backs, if you go that route, get one. It helps keep the back on good and gives a little extra protection.
I personally had had the same conversation with myself. read many threads on xda and review sites. and I came with the conclusion the the ZL 10k was the one for me. 3.25x battery life plus a rugged obox style case, was a near no brainer to me. I wanted an otterbox to protect ny phone. But for the same price I get 3 x battery. again no brainer. hope this helps
I have the anker 6400mah and on average I get 19hrs screentime. Very happy with the results. The battery cover that came with it is cheap plastic. It fits very well but its a cover and not a protective case. I ordered the ZL 10k and it should be here friday. I have experience with anker and ZL both make fantastic batteries. The reason I ordered the ZL 10k iS I was going to buy a protective case any ways. Theyre about $60.00, but ZL will sell you a case and a 10k battery for $60.00.
I suggest the Hyperion 6400. I get 10hr screen on time. For the cost, it's a better deal then the ZL10K. The Note 3 paired with the 6400 Hyperion is the only combo of cell and phone that can satisy my EXTREMELY heavy usage...

19hrs screen time? That's AMAZING! I only get 10 hrs on average over 2 days. How did you get such a long battery life? Unbelievable. ....
Anyway, having used anker 6400mah for about 3 weeks, I would say it's a good purchase. Wanted a ZL10k but can't hv 2 extended batteries for no reason. That will make me having 2 extra batteries.

Ugh.. decisions decisions. I'm looking at the hyperion + extended case (white or black look decent) for $40 or the ZL for $60.. I had an extended on the s3 and grew to not like the phone as much but it was a necessity. I can't get through a day on my stock N3 battery. I'm guessing I'll go with the ZL.
Is the holster clip detachable?

Seems like there's an easy answer for you that would solve all your problems. You can get the hyperion/anker battery and mod the otterbox case so that you can have a slim profile with double the battery life. You can also use the holster that comes with the otterbox.

Well, it's my time now to say my problems. My only choice among these three batteries, is Anker.
I live in Greece, and Hyperion does not send the batteries here.
Zerolemon's thickness and weight seems too much for me. So, my only choice is Anker..
Are Anker batteries good enough ? The mah they say the battery have, are real?

No iam not interested to buy the zerolemon brick. I just asked if the Anker battery, it's a good and decent battery, that doubles the original one.
Somebody here must have bought it... So I pleased him to answer me. I don't want to spend my money in fake batteries. Many of them exist all over eBay...

I haven't tried the Anker for the N3, but I tested one of theirs for an older phone and it had the claimed capacity.
If it's an extended battery, they are all built pretty much the same. 2 standard size cells stacked up. So thicknesses for it will be the same as a zerolemon. The ZL will be heavier, and The thickness is distributed over the whole device, not just a bump on the back. Just mentioning it so you know what you're getting. Use whatever works best for you.
Just take an extra battery with you?

Personal I'm biased towards the 6400mAh cell.
I've NEVER been able to find a phone or after market cell to match my HEAVY usage until I paired the Note 3 with this cell.
Now it can keep up no matter what I do.
10KmAh is overkill. But for battery life? Always appreciated.

Been using the zerolemon 10k one for almost 3 months now and I absolutely love it. I get a average of 3 days of battery Life and that's with normal to medium usage. With light use you can get 4 or 5 days of standby.

We don't live in caves... As Mansevolver said, 10Kmah is overkill. Do you want to carry an ugly heavy brick?
For me the 6400mah are the best choice for my daily use, and keeps the phone light and beautiful.

Just got my Mugen Power 3000mAh battery with a designated rear cover.
I will be doing more testing of the battery itself in a few days, but I wanted to share my impression on the rear cover.
1. Design
Well, it is what it is. I did not expect fireworks and I do not really care about the design anyway. The satin surface does not match the rest of the case. The silver insert for the camera does not really match anything, but I doubt it will cause any reflexes and negatively affect the pictures.
2. Quality of manufacturing
It is SO BAD I cannot believe any manufacturer would ever release anything of that quality. It looks like the cheapest plastic manually formed and cut with a kitchen knife. The lines are bended, the fit of the rear cover to the rest of the case is not there and the silver insert looks like it is going to detach any time. Disaster.
Conclusion:
Well, I hope the battery itself is of a better quality, but after seeing the cover I have all the worst impressions about Mugen Power products.
If you plan to show off you new phone from time to time, avoid it at all cost.
If you want additional anti-theft protection, get one. It makes the whole phone looks so cheap that no thief would ever think about stealing your phone.
ha. Well I'll be eager to hear how well the battery works - this is the one that I'm acutally considering because I want more juice baby! Luckly I'm kinda like you - more interested in function or form - but what a shame that the battery cover is such a cheap piece of crap.
ya for some reason all windows mobile phones use alot of power i had a nokia 5800 it would last really long compared to all windows mobile phones i have including the fuze
I bought the battery when it first came out and I still have it to this day. After a few days of it being in my pocket (since there isn't a case that fits it) jiggling around with my pocket knife and loose change it got scratched all to hell.
Besides being made fun of by co-workers for its extreme size and having them put 'ACME' labels on it the battery did just what it was supposed to do. Minimize downtime for charging and increase the life of the phone.
The cover is far from pretty and I have seen some people take them off and dye them with the RITZ dyes from WalMart. I've seen some pretty neat work so that may be something you can look in to...
I still find myself using the standard battery for day-to-day use and I have grown away from using the extended battery except on long trips. Overall I would give it a 9/10 because it does exactly what it's supposed to do minus the appearance.

Your back cover looks vastly different than mine. is yours for the GSM or CDMA? My original back cover fit like crap and the company naked cellphone sent me a new one at no cost, never had a problem since. Sure, it's a bit bigger but I like it. It makes typing on the keyboard easier with the added depth of the device.

And yeah, those pics look awful.
I've got the Fosmon® High Capacity 2400mAh, and its about the same physical size as the mugen. I don't mind the size at all, feel compfortable in my hand, I like the Fosmon, becuase its alot cheaper, and the back cover is the exact glossy black as the the rest of the FUZE. Tbattery app only shows 1340mah don't know if this is a limitation to the software, or the battery not reporting correctly.
The fosmon back cover although visual nice, is very flimsy, and scratches very easy, I order the Mugen cover only to see how it looks, but from pictures it seems to have more of a matte rubbery finish, which will clash

Could you possibly provide a link as to where you bought this battery?
I returned Mugen Super Extended Battery 3000mAh and got Fosmon® High Capacity 2400mAh at Amazon.
The quality of the cover is WAY better, both design and manufacturing. The design is similar to the original cover: glossy (matches the rest of the phone) and slightly better shaped (imho). The area around the camera and LED is recessed, which in my opinion is better design then Mugen. The quality is much better, no distorted lines, quite good fitting to the rest of the case. It is one piece (Mugen was two), so not problem with fitting between parts. The only thing that look a bit cheap is a silver painting around the camera and LED that they could skip at all.
Considering Fosmon is 7.5 times cheaper than Mugen, even if I have to sacrifice a bit of the battery itself I can live with that.
u can have fosmon 2400 at

I use the the Mugen Power 3600mAh. The battery lasts long, how long I don't know exactly. I usually charge the phone every other day.
My guess is that 4 days would be OK before charging. I use a lot of 3G and wireless for surfing the Internet. Email, calendar of course.
The battery cover is made of rather cheap plastic and I was worried the hinges would break of as they did on my previous battery which was some other manufacturer (2700mAh?). This hasn't happened, seems like the cover is sturdy enough but could be made of much better material considering the price.
I recommend this battery.
Thanks! Anyone have a recommendation for one that fits in the stock battery door?

I think the materials on the Note 2 are perfectly fine, given that we need to be able to remove the back cover to get to the battery and MicroSD card.
I used to really like HTC phones, but until they allow me to change the battery again, they won't be seeing any more of my money. Whilst the Note 2 has epic battery life and I seldom need to change it, I still require the ability to do so.
MicroSD I can live without as long as I've got a minimum of 64gb internal storage.

Dave

so go ahead and get the HTC. sheesh!
I had a Teg3 One X and was quite happy with it. The battery was at best marginal and I had to carry around battery boosters (small at home, large on the road) and was constantly thinking "should I really do a web browsing session or watch a video?" because I was always afraid I'd get a long call and be screwed. You shouldn't have to "ration" your usage of a high-end smartphone in 2012/3. The Teg3 One X had 32GB of storage which, for me, was adequate. 11GB of user accessible fixed storage on the One XL and DNA is laughable.
This is from HTC's website describing the Butterfly. Now that their having to explain their poor battery choices in their marketing material maybe someone from product development will get the message. Kind of sad that putting form over function has them rationalizing their decisions to their prospective customers.
Enjoy comfort and style right in the palm of your hand. Thanks to innovative stacking methodology, the HTC Butterfly is slimmer, curvier, and more comfortable than any other phone of its kind. Instead of placing the battery on top of the working parts, we install ours directly into the case first, leaving room for design without compromise – and comfort beyond compare.
As for the materials Samsaung uses their fine and certainly of respectable quality. I don't think anyone doesn't cringe when they pull the paper thin plastic back cover off a Samsung device. But, they are durable, you can replace the back cover for $20 USD if you scratch it, and the design allows the phone to distribute impact better if you drop it.
I'd like to see a One X or DNA pass the 5' drop test.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mA0r7tc6V5s
I love the design and materials of HTC's phones but I'm not willing to accept the comprimises necessary to buy one anymore. And I'm guessing I'm not the only one that feels that way based on their ever declining market share.

I love HTC design! But I have absolutely no problems with Samsung for using plastic. It keeps weight down, plastic does something for the heat in the phone, so that's also a good thing... I have had 3 samsung devices, and no creaks and no problems EVER. Yet I've had 4 iPhone 4's and they've all had issues. Never getting another apple device. Dell Streak was made of all metal or aluminum or something, caused A LOT of problems.
I love samsung devices. The plastic is fine! Don't complain! If you do, just save us ALL the time and effort of typing these messages and ... JUST DONT GET IT! I mean, come on! You KNEW it was made of plastic BEFORE You bought it. You probably opened it before taking it home, and if you saw it was plastic and didn't like it you could have returned it right then and there at the store. Sell it on eBay if you must!
I personally like the plastic. Is an HTC "better built?" I don't know, but it FEELS great in hand! Would I buy an HTC One X? NO! Because I need to be able to do battery pulls / exchanges and expandable memory oh my god! WITHOUT a DOUBT! I need it.

I also came from the hox - I found the build quality excellent but the phone is subpar in comparison to the note 2.
I don't mind the plastic as long as it's got a case. The back cover very rarely comes off other than to compare the battery with my mates sg3.
The note 2 does exactly what it says on the tin for me- where the hox didn't. I always had battery anxiety when I was using the phone and the thing kept overheating when using satnav or just playing angry birds.
I personally think Samsung got the design spot on with the note 2. It feels robust and dosent Creek like the one x did on phone calls.

You're probably right. When I bought it, bestbuy had no covers. Now I guess more are getting released. did you get the official one or another? I do like the feature of the samsung one that will wakup the device when opening.

I got the official one. While it may not be worth $50 I like it well enough and it protects from the "everyday". I've never dropped a tablet so I'm not worried about drops.
thank you

So I've owned the tablet for over a week now. I like it. However the plastic backing around the microSD slot has slowly become loose and now holding the device feels like cheap plastic. I don't access the port at all, save the one time i put the sd card in.
Anyone else noticing this build issue?

Most of my local Best Buys had the Samsung cover (white), and a black Belkin one on release date. You can check on their website what is in stock at your local stores. I'm sure more are on the way, too.

The Samsung cover, does it stay closed on the screen just by weight, or do the magnets actually keep it closed?
magnet
I have same problem same area since day 1. Went to exchange, all sold oit! Other 2 problems are lightbleed and loose micro usb port.
maybe you provide us with an image to better describe the situation
Well. It is quite plasticy
I have mine over a week now, and haven't felt it loose. You should trade it mate. I like the bezel of the tab but the plastic is really annoying. There are quite a few cases out there though...

I got mine a few days ago and I must say I quite like it! The only build issue I have is a somewhat remarkable amount of light bleed along the bottom but it doesn't bother me enough to post a pic of it. Best buy only had one case that didn't look very good so I'm still sporting the protective back covering till more cases are in stock. I have high hopes for this!
I am on my 3rd Note trade in. It finally is not loose next to the sdcard. I told them I expect near Perfection if I Pay 400 for an 8 inch tablet!

It really should be of better build quality for $400. Or it should be at least $100 cheaper. I have the 10.1 and it feels OK, not terribly cheap but not of high quality. I will be putting it up on eBay and going to the 8.0 regardless, due to it being a more pragmatic size for my day to day use. I’m just waiting on the black version.
I had this problem as well. I replaced it at best buy and haven't had a problem with the new one.

you know it dont matter for they all are the same. The back just pops off very easy. Build quality was just to cheap and to thick for me.

Sure the build quality could be better but I haven't had a single issue with mine since I bought it on release day. From the reports here it seems like maybe some of them are not as solid as others.

Obviously they are not "all the same" since some owners are reporting here that there are no issues with theirs. I think most people are going to use some type of case with this, so IMO it's not too much of an issue. Of course I would like to see better build quality, but I don't think it's that bad. I agree that the plastic back is too shiny/greasy/slippery/nasty, but then again most people are going to put it in a case.
You can get a good sense of the build quality by checking out the display units at Best Buy (if you live in the U.S.). These things are handled by tons of people and kids each day who treat them with little respect because they don't have any personal investment in them. You can always tell which products on display have subpar build quality.
And Really? It was too thick for you? How much thinner do you want it? There won't be any room for the battery if it's thinner, or for the S-Pen silo/dock. I'd rather have a bit longer battery life and a secure place to store my S-pen rather than a thinner tablet. The weight, thickness, and balance in the hand are the best I have experienced in this general size.

Oooooooo magnets Are bad man. Not so much for regular phones but for phones with stylus and digitizer it will over time cause dead area s on your screen. Don't believe me ?
Head over to the note 2 forums and check out all the problems with cases involving magnet clasps. If got so bad the companies offered to replace your magnet sealing case with one with a simple button in stead. I had one and as soon as I put it on I started having problems with the area around that magnet.
Just stay away from magnetic cases period. Just trust me. Or mess up big time. Once that part of the screen gets borked its borked
That pic is the replacement one with the button they sent me. Also watch out for those magnetic kickstand cases. Big no no too those utilize neodymium!

Amen thin ness had gone to far. I don't want any thiner devices. Just keep them how they are and make better thinner batteries cpus whatever. Battery tech needs a big overhaul that's our biggest weakness

I've always heard great things about zerolemon but only yesterday ordered my 1st. I realize I'm sacrificing NFC but i dont use it anyways.

I have used Zerolemon on my S4, s5,s9+. It was great when you could change the battery. NOw I use the Otterbox for daily and the Zero battery when out of town. I favor the belt holder for all of my phones since I get my messages when I am outside, which is most of the time. Batter's Zerolemon are great but due add weight. The plus sometimes out weighs the negative based on useage
I do, and enjoy it.
But just hope they could do something like award winning design to make it feels slim in hand.
