Smart Cover develop for AOSP - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, I am willing to try and develop smart cover feature for AOSP.
first of all, I want to know if someone started, knows about any project before I am starting it by myself.
Anyway, for now , I want to develop only the lock and unlock feature.
Do you think that there is a character device that the magnetic device throws the state to it? or is it built it in the android kernel and not coming from LG, in that case, it would be much more easier.
If I am in the wrong forum, my apology.
let me know what do you think.

try decompile com.lge.lockscreen

HaRET/Linux/Android very initial work

Hi Guys,
I just wanted to let you know I've started playing around with HaRET on my new shadow. So far HaRET is able to start, correctly identify the hardware, and I'm able to connect on port 9999 to do some diagnostics on the device.
Next step will be to cross compile a kernel using some of the instructions for similar HTC devices and see if I can get a linux kernel to start booting.
There's going to be some work necessary to make this thing useful under linux. Someone will need to figure out a way to map the keyboard to do t9 like input. We'll have to see if the gsm hardware and wifi hardware are the same as some of the other models too.
I don't have a ton of time to do this, so progress will probably be very slow, but I just thought I would throw this out there in case anyone else is interested in looking at it.
I'd donate if -myHTC- and ND4SPD join together and create something out of this.
If we can all figure out a way to help each other out on here, the final product can be amazing.
im ready to donate as well.
im not very savy when it comes to roms and development but i can help with what i can!
Sure, I'd love to work on this. But I don't know anything really about linux/android...I can port stuff, so I might be a little usesful, especially since the HTC G1 has been released.

[SOURCES] iperov's Pocket Guitar

Hello everybody.
My pocket guitar app is hobby work, and I must do my main work.
So I decided to publish the Pocket Guitar sources.
Those who wants to take a party developing can offer suggestions about the CODE in this topic.
Anybody who wants can declare themself as a main coder who will compile and publish the versions.
Information about the sources:
C++
VS2005
Pure WINAPI to get maximum performance from hardware.
Assembler inserts for ArmV4 and ArmV5.
Problems need to fix:
1) crackling sound:
Audio buffer is 23ms.
To fix: either increase buffer size to get slower response, or test any modifications on devices with crackling sound to retrieve the problem.
2) screen compatibility
3) app stops working when inactive (incoming ring etc)
And my main HOPE is that in any of your apps you will use only WINAPI, rejecting suxx like .NET and other brakez ****.

I'd really like someone to figure out how to re-orient the strings so you don't have to flip your PPC to get them stacked like a classic right-handed guitar! Other than that, this is a super app!
App
i can run the app, but i try to swing the string
it doesn't work - -
i am using LG KS20
thx
thank you 4 great app but My LGks20 has the same problems. i dont know why !
Hey, i dont understand the difference between the "winapi" and .net?
if i have .net on my ppc will i be able to install this "winapi" and will program`s that require .net still work?
Sorry if this question is qrong in context, i really dont know what they are.

Thanks for opening the source code of an amazing software!
I wanna take this and will make some change, corrections, improvements, and so on...
Can you inform me that there is any code that must not be opened?
I mean, is all these source files in the zip file are your own?
Then I'll apply the MIT license and post them on code.google.com.
Please reply me. Thank you.

a completely custom build? (question only.)

Have any of the developers ever come out with or began work on a completely custom build? it seems like all the builds are basically ports with tweaks here and there. I dont have the programing knowlege or know how but i think it it would be cool to have the menu load from the side or drop down from the top. things like that would be cool, and i would be willing to use my artistry skills to help develop icons, menus, etc. I'm not saying i dont appreciate all the work any of the developer have done on the current builds available, I am just wondering.
I think that's because they have enough to do to get Android running on a HD2? They don't want to spend their time for such things. At the moment their working on the NAND anyway.
But if you really want to have a real custom build you should have a look in the developement forum and search for coffee shop or something like that. It's a tool to do some work on the UI and enables you to do such things as you asked for I think.

Need Help-Vault android app

I need help to make an Android application. The application i want to develop is like a vault. The vault should be able to store files such as text documents, images and videos. The files present in the vault should be encrypted in the sd card. Basically they must be secure.
Also i'd like the app to have a 3 level of security to open the application. For example the first level of security could be a 4 digit code, followed by a pattern, and then followed by a question.
Can anyone point me to a similar app with an open source code? Or if possible for anyone, can anyone take this up as a challenge and develop this project for me. I want to develop this application for my mini project. I have no intention to put this in the play store or gain any profit from this application.
Can anyone please please help me?I'm desperate....
Do YOU want to code it or do you want that OTHER people code it?
Can you program? Have you ever code an android app?
Regards

Thanks for the reply.
I haven't coded an app from scratch, but i know how to modify the source code of the app. So if possible, if there exists an app with similar features and is open source, could you point me towards such an app?
If not, then maybe if possible, people on xda developers could code it for me?
Need help...

I do understand that you need it for your project. But to be frank I dont think anyone would code that for you people here can only guide you in right direction.
Rest its a whole project in itself, if anyone would code he/she would put it in Play Store itself.
Sorry

Any Xposed Module Developers??

Okay let me start by saying :
This is an open appeal / request, not a demand in any way at all!
Im a developer too, so i know the hardwork required... but unfortunately i dont do android/java programming, so i am putting this up here.
Are there any devs here who have or would like to work on developing modules on xposed for OnePlus2 ? There are a lot of modules for Samsung and HTC phones, similarly we can and need a few too. for example fingerprint app lock for op2. There is one for Samsung, ive tried to force it to work on OP2, but it doesn't. Or something to remap the alert slider? or something else that you people may think useful!
So if there is anyone, please comment and do so and help our device become more awesome!
Also, people like me who are ready to be testers, please do comment below. It will ensure the devs that they have support and can proceed without worrying about it! :highfive:
