[Q] nexus 10 as second screen for smartphone - Nexus 10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi folks!
Please tell me know how to use nexus 10 as second screen for smartphone (in my case Samsung Galaxy S4 i9505) ?
How to connect nexus 10 to i9505 and use everything just from i9505 through WiFi ?
I need just a second bigger screen for my i9505 sometimes. I don't wanna use tablet as a tablet.
Simple I wanna just use nexus 10 as screen to see everything than happening on i9505, like "teamviewer" but in more comfortable way like it's working on "Asus PadFone"

[Q] Time goes too fast

Hi!
[Bad English Alert]
I bought Galaxy S4 two weeks ago and everything was fine. But then I've got some troubles: phone could not find mobile network. But this topic not about this. In a few days after this, I notice that time goes faster. I set the correct time (15:00 for example), and within half an hour noticed that time goes forward like 2 hours (17:00, but real time was 15:00).
Then I start stopwatch at my Galaxy Note and Galaxy S4. Four hours later I looked at stopwatches and time was equally at them. More interesting, that time at clock on Galaxy S4 was right too.
Then I did the same thing, but put Galaxy S4 in sleep mode. And S4's stopwatch goes forward!!
Just look video I made:
How can it be even possible? What wrong with my Galaxy S4?
P.S: Sorry for my English.
No Problem Here.
Just dit a test with my old Galaxy S3 (GT-I9300) and my new Galaxy S4 (GT-I9505),
i cant reproduce the problem.
I think that there is the problem with CPU. But I don't know what exactly.
I tried hard reset but it didn't help.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini Gallery Glitch

Hey guys. I recently acquired a Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini. Every time I go on a HD image the screen elderly gets a lot sharper alongside the letters and everything turns "True HD" if you will. Is this a glitch? I'm familiar with Android phones so don't be afraid to use technical terms if needed

I had a S3 i747 and I was pretty satisfied with it, I had it with CM11 and just love it badly and think that an S4 upgrade will be unnecesary because I didn't see why the people get excited when it was first launched.
Recently I had the oportunity of hold a S4 in my hands and I see that is not larger than a S3 and I liked so much its design, the size of the LED button, its screen size and the quadcore procesosr improvement also was good so I decide to go for a S4. I bought a second hand i337m S4 for about US 300 after sold my i747 in about US 250 so it was a no thinking situation for me. I haven't noticed any annoying bug on stock rom, the camera app was pretty cool with plenty of effects and WatchOn app was great to control your TV. I'm a hardened CM fan so I can't wait to see it on my cellphone so I installed it and so far (I have CM for about 5 days now) the only bug I have see is that while the phone is charging, you can't power on the cellphone (you just have to disconnect it and power on, not a big deal), for TV control I use Peel Smart Remote App and it works just as good as Samsung's app
In conclusion: I would say that if you feel good with your S3 you have no particular need for buy a S4 (probably get the same experience with some improvements) but if you have the oportunity of upgrade at a good price, then go for it

Hi,
some users have problems with Kitkat and some don't.
In general custom roms are running better than the original system. My guess. I'm very satisfied with S4 developed custom roms
It is your choice. There aren't any big hardware changes except full HD screen and camera quality.

thanks for yr reply...... yes custom roms are amazing... ill buy a S4 and see....hope no problems
thanks a lottttttttttttttttttt
I had S3 and I have now S4 (i9500) with Kitkat update, S4 have 2 GB Memory (S3 only 1 GB) & it is more smooth than S3, S4 also doesn't lag as much as S3 do.
in general S4 is a nice update for your current S3, but if you want my advice try to get S5, the screen in S5 is way more accurate and better than S4 screen, the battery also is more powerful.
it depends on how much you are ready to pay $.
Hi i also upgraded from s3 to s4 last October, i would. Recommend You to upgrade to s4 as it is a really good and compact device with 1080p display and thin bezels, unlike the ugly s5 which isn't compact.

Do you own a Galaxy Note Tablet AND a Galaxy Note Phone?

I ran across an article that got my attention even though it was related to (sorry folks) iPads and iPhones. The author commented that since he got an iPhone 6+ his tablet has gotten neglected. Then proceeded to discuss ways of using both. Though the particular article was about iWhatevers, I have recently gotten a Galaxy Note 4 and am noticing my 10.1 being much less used.
So I'm curious. Are others here in the same situation? Do you have both a tablet and a phone? Are you using both effectively? What do you use to keep them integrated?

That's 'cause despite Jobs' edict, most folks wanted something bigger to use daily and had to get a tablet to do so.
Personally, the effect of a tablet's been the reverse- when I got my first Android tablet nearly 4 years ago my phone was relegated to only being used to make phone calls and get directions and is still neglected most of the time; my tablet does everything else.
I own a 2012 Note 10.1 and a Note 4.
I split my time between them. I love using both devices.

I have a 2012 note 10.1 and a note 3. I split this difference most of the time. I can do whatever I need on both devices but sometimes like the extra screen space if im using multi window for studying.
I am on Moto X and Note 10.1
Hi,
slightly off topic, i have a habit of falling into devices
a good idea for excess devices that fall to the wayside
might be to network them as a home intercom/security system
with you phone as a remote monitor.
probably very helpful for care of elderly or disabled family/friends
with limited mobility, and more affordable than a professional/commercial
over-priced setup.
just a thought.

Currently own a note 3 and a note 10.1 (8013), use my phone for nearly everything. My tablet is currently a remote wake on lan for my desktop, a backup device for files, and a wall mounted clock/weather station. While my tablet doesnt get much attention its still very useful.

Also a Note 3 and 10. (8013) user. Both get equal time for me. of course my phone is always on me so when I am mobile my tablet is not in use. But I prefer it to do everything since the screen is larger.

Got Note 3 and Note 10.1 2012 edition. Both are the best

I also have the Note 3, and I use to do everything related to college with the Note 10.1, and maybe to some multimedia content.
I have the Note 2 and Note 10.1 2012 edition; I usually have both on me at any given time, neither of them are neglected. I prefer my tablet for playing Ruzzle, taking notes, and reading in general. I love them both, will upgrade to the Note 4 in Feb
I have Note 4 & GT-N8000.
At the first 5 days I neglected my Note 10.1 to learn all the features of Note 4, Root it & put some mod/tweak.
After that I'm back on using both of them equally.
I separate the function of both: N8000 mainly for creativity, ebook/article reading & Games + backup "phone", Note 4 mainly for appointment, business notes & main phone + backup creativity/games.
I even have just replaced my N8000 battery so it feels like a new device again.
The point is both are great devices on their own.
Tablet is bigger so it's better for reading, gaming & similar activities.
Phone is smaller so it's better for taking quick notes, phone calling, recording & similar activities.
By dividing the necessity based on size of the device I manage to get more benefit from both such as better battery life (Note 4 : 1 day,18hrs with 1.5hrs screen time + wifi,BT,NFC always on and GT-N8000: 15hrs,43mnt at 44% with new battery at the time I write this), easy to my eyes & better life organization.
And BTW, I also use both S-Pen very often.
That's how I use both my Note 4 & GT-N8000.
When I got my note 10.1 I decided to replace Hi end phone with Xperia E dual, just to check e-mail, make phone calls and send messages. I think their functions cross, so there is no point for using both.
I have a Note 4. Should I get Note 10.1 or Nexus 10?
Ok so, I'm trying to decide between getting the Note 10.1 (2012) or the Nexus 10. I currently have a Note 4, and love the handwriting features, and I'm not sure if I'm willing to give that up for the Nexus 10. However, I notice that the Note 10.1 is only officially updated until like 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. And I love the Nexus 10 for the fact that it already has the latest updates.
My question is, is the Note 10.1 still a decently fast, capable tablet? And is it fairly easy to root? Or should I just go ahead and go with the Nexus 10?

I'm guessing low price is your motivation for getting the older model. Which is fair but do expect it to be a bit outdated.
My Note 10.1 still meets my needs. I applied the Gnabo ROM which brings it up to 4.4.2 and has the newer Samsung tools (S-Note, air command) and it works fine and it was easy to root.

Cool. Thanks for the reply. I ended up going for the Nexus 10 just in case I decide to get into a little development. Just figured I'll either use my Note 4 for handwriting when I need it. Or just get a stylus for the Nexus 10 and deal with the lower amount of accuracy compared to a Note device.

Hope the works out. Check out this stylus. I used it with my S4 before making the switch to a Note 4. Not as good as an s-pen but better than a crayon size stylus.

I first bought the original Note phone on 2012, then bought the 10.1 when it went on sale. Have used both until the Note phone started to randomly crash, reboot, and battery swelled (enough to pop out the back cover). To be fair I had messed about with it lots, installing whatever ROM and kernels on it. I left it in my drawer once I bought the Xperia Z (best phone I've ever had). I only took it out again after I installed night owl CM 12 on it and bought a new battery, it now lives in my car, SIM less, using Nokia HERE for my navigation needs and is pretty good offline. New lease of life for the old boy lol.
The 10.1 saw less and less use after I switched to the Z, until recently when I picked it up again for use in my studies, and decided to format and start over again. Still on stock Samsung ROM, but it's enough. Carrying it around with me nearly all the time. Kind of regret not buying the 3G version but I can hot spot from the Z anyway. It's also really good for backing up photos from my camera while I'm out. 64gb microSD
Z in pocket, Note in car, Note 10.1 in bag with big back up battery in bag.....pretty much set until they give up lol, :fingers-crossed:
Original Note bought in 2012
N8000 still in use
Note 3 playing around with.
Note 10.1 2014 edition.
Note 4.
Note Edge...
I use all these items, though the original Note tends to have a bit of desk time, as they have pro's and cons over each other for various things...
The old N8000 is my backup tablet. It gets carried around all the time in case my newer 2014 ed battery dies but is still capable (though you REALLY notice that 2Gb ram difference).
Note Edge is main phone with the Note 4 and then 3 as backups...
I have sim cards in the 2014 Edition 10.1 and the 3/4 phones though some of these are just for contact phones - no credit on account.
