I need to replace the back cover on my phone. Does anyone know where I can purchase one at? It has to be for the verizon wireless model. Thanks!

OK, you confused me.... The Verizon version has no battery door, the battery is built in. Do you have some Verizon version of the LG G2 I have never heard of?

The battery door is the plastic on the back. It is extremely easy to remove and just snaps off. Look at an LG G2 disassembly video. I need to replace mine.
I did not know they were removable... mine seems to be a solid piece. After viewing the video I see. I say the best place at this time maybe to contact LG directly.

I pulled my phone out of my case yesterday and it felt kinda weird to me. Took a look at the back and the battery cover was missing. Turns out I lost it at a bar the night before. A friend saw it on the ground there, but didn't realize what it was until I was asking if anyone saw it the next day.
I called the bar. They said no one turned it in and odds are it got swept up and tossed.
I called the store I bought it from. They said they can't order that piece.
I called Cingular. They say its an accessory, so its not under warranty and they dont sell them anyway.
I tried calling HTC Texas earlier, but no one answered.
Right now I have electrical tape holding the battery on. Please, please, please somebode help me.
The only thing I can think of is if you can get one from those dummy units for sale on ebay?
I think the dummy phones are all one piece. If not, I may just have to head into a cingular store and end up with the cover in my pocket somehow.

I certainly hope that "somehow" means that you negotiate one from a store manager...

yeah.....thats the ticket. If "negotiate" means punch and steal.
Just a thought...
I would think that suggestions of committing crimes - even joking around - just don't belong here...
by "punch and steal" I meant "hug and kiss".

Thanks Xenos. My battery cover is on its last prong so as soon as I saw there was a place to call to order this part, I was on it. Once again, thanks.
would they sell to europe?
Due to my dual sim adapter my cover has a bulge now. Id like to try to modify it, but not until i have a spare cover (just in case!)

Just spoke with the people and they said they would.
I contacted HTC Europe (via www.htceurope.com contact form).
They sell the cover as well: GBP 10 incl shipping/handling to The Netherlands. You can pay by creditcard.
Just ordered one, waiting for payment details.
So, I hate my phones being branded with the AT&T logo. I went to one of my local AT&T stores today, and they told me what I expected: that even if I ordered an unsubsidized phone over the tele, that they'd still be branded with their logo.
Looking online at Negri Electronics SGH-I337 (unlocked), they are all unbranded (but they're also not yet in stock). I was wondering if all that was just a ruse, un-updated pictures that'll be corrected when they first list the phone as "in stock", or, heaven forbid, the true UNBRANDED phone that I covet so? Anyone order an AT&T phone from Negri before?
Here's to hoping it won't be branded!
Why not just get the AT&T version then replace the back cover with one that's not branded?

Are they only branded on the back? Last AT&T phone I bought had the logo and name on the front, and the logo again on the back.
Thanks for the idea though, I was about to drop an extra $50 for something I didn't need.
I suppose back covers will be easy enough to get soon anyways. :fingers-crossed:

The logo would probably come off with nail polish or Goo Gone. Either that or cover it with a case. I'd personally go with the one I could save the most money on. Just wait until Verizon comes out with theirs with the logo on the button .

Yeah... That kind of stuff just sickens me. Why do you have to go ruin a perfectly beautiful phone with your logo, when you had NOTHING to do with research/development/production/advertising/etc?
Yeah, I tried the whole penny scratch-off thing before, and it scratched the **** out of my glass... Don't ever want to try removing that stuff again.
I don't disagree with this at all, but it sounds like you never had an SIII where the branding was identical, just a small ATT globe logo on the back of the phone, nothing on the front.... you must have had one sharp penny to scratch the glass! Pennies are what everyone used to get them off the battery cover on the SIII, and while I don't care enough to spend time modifying that when I have a car dock to get working, I like saving the stock battery covers for resale in the end, so I'm leaving this one mint and getting a new one to ruin over time - my aftermarket SIII battery door is going in the trash and the stock one that had never been installed is going to the new owner when I sell it on eBay this week!
If I buy a sprint LCD with digitizer, will I be able to use it with my ATT version? I am trying to replace my screen and bezel since they are damaged.
If I buy the Sprint version, will a ATT sim work? I am thinking about bidding on this. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Samsung-gal...ts_Tools&hash=item20d4064998&autorefresh=true
Let me know quick!
Anyone??
Only have 20 min to make a decision on whether or not to bid on this. Can anyone please help?
Someone hasn't responded because,
1) they haven't seen this thread.
2) nobody knows.
3) nobody has needed to replace theirs.
If you do buy it. Come back and let us know if it worked or not.

you probably could have found the answers doing some searching... but as with 99% of all other phones the AT&T SIM will not really work in the Sprint phone. You should be able to replace the screens between phones, but your best bet would be to find S4 teardowns of AT&T and Sprint phones online and see if the screens are the same. I would suspect the screen and body are the same, but the logic board and chips are different.
In order to find the answer, someone has to be the first to do it... that someone may be you, my friend.
I've had my G2 for less than 24 hours. I put on the top of my car, just to open and close the back door for my kid! I closed the door, and the phone went flying. It cracked the top half of the screen only by a little bit, but the middle of the touch screen is unresponsive....
So, I found a replacement screen and digitizer for it. But I can't find any guides on taking the thing apart! Anytime I do a web search for the G2 it always brings up the G2x, which is an old crappy device from years ago. I couldn't even find an iFixit tear down... I thought they did everything!
Any ideas from anyone?
I have broke my digitizer as well, however LCD is still intact. I have not yet found any digitizers or lcd assemblies yet for this phone (D800). I did find some for the international versions D801, D802 but without taking the phone apart I'd be cautious with your purchase. When you do your web searches, type in -g2x . That will limit results for the g2x.

If you didn't already purchase the replacements this company sells it for 139.99 and offers free support, call them and maybe they send instructions with it or offer help over the phone. I once Fedexed a phone to a guy on Ebay and he fixed it for me and over nighted it back so you could ask about that too. Also maybe ask some local cell repair shops if you bring in the parts will they fix it for cheap, say 1 hour labor. If you can get the parts for 140.00 and offer a guy 50 or 60 to fix it then your still on par with what someone would pay for the insurance deductible on one of the major carriers.
Well this is the D802 I listed sorry but whoever you get the part from, good luck.

I'm so glad you guys mentioned the D800... I would have got the wrong one... I am fine replacing the screen myself, I have done it many times on other phones. Just would have liked to find a little tear down guide helping with the process...
thanks for the input though.
Does anyone know how to take apart the phone for repair, I too broke the lcd withing 2 weeks of purchase. I want to fix it myself but I have no idea how to take it apart. Thanks!

wow hope you can fix it. Can you post links here on how to?
AMAZING! THANKS! What about wireless charging?
That is excellent, thanks for the guide!
My next question, now that we know how to open it... I remember reading that the VZW G2 is the only one with the QI Wireless charging, because of the battery they use. If we can access the battery, think we can get a VZW battery and put it into the att, tmobile, sprint version?
That would be fantastic!
Guide?
Can you post the guide up on here by any chance?
I am not 100% sure this is legit with XDA... But here is a PDF guide for it... The file that was sent to me was too big.
Use it at your own risk.

Thanks I dont need it yet but you never know when you will.

This video is the how to on what you need to do in order to disassemble the G2 in order to remove the screen. There is a link provided for the reassembly in The video.
I was able to pick up a screen/digitizer/LCD from amazon for about 120. Make sure to pay attention to where it ships from. A lot of the sellers ship them from Asia and they take up to a month to come in. Mine came out of New York. Also the screen assemblies from OEM come with a kit with jeweler's screwdrivers and plastic pry devices in order to disassemble the phone or at least mine did.
Last in the video he uses a heat gun at some points. I did not need one throughout any of the process but may make it easier for you.
All in all I took me about an hour and a half to swap my screen out. Works like a charm.

Hi there. I just broke my digitizer, but the screen is fine. I read somewhere that you have to replace them both because they are glued together, do you know if this is true? I have a heat gun if that is needed to separate them. I would just like to purchase a digitizer only and replace that, to save about $60+.

yes you can get digitizer but if you make the slightest mistake you end up breaking the lcd and will have to replace them both

Ok thanks, I am leaning toward taking it to a local repair shop and letting them do it. Price be damned!

yea plus my advice is from personal experience I had already tried it and ended up paying more since I had to buy the lcd plus digitizer
Not sure what the price would be to just replace screen/digitizer. the part would run about 30 bucks, just not sure what a repair shop would charge for labor. If its over 150 though i would opt the DIY method as it is simple to do if you get a screen/digitizer/lcd all in one. I did it for 120 and some change. Mine also came with a tool kit in order to dismanlte the phone.
hi friend, i have a LG VS980 Verizon, Is it the same part for vs980 and d80x? in my country im only able to get D80x version of screen and sellers are not sure if the parts are compatible, I have seen several videos and pictures of the online stores of spare parts, and at first glance are the same connectors.

I couldn't vouch for that. A good place to start though might be to compare specs of each phone, V980 to D80X, specifically the display properties. Not sure but there may be a good breakdown out there of what the specs are for each, not just a dimension and pixel count.
