[Q] Internal Storage question - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

Hey everyone. I'm sorry if this has been asked but I couldn't find anything relating to this specific problem. I just got the Galaxy S4 and am aware that there's only about 9 GB free to use on the internal storage. I looked and it's only saying I have about 4.2GB after not really downloading a whole lot. It's saying an additional 4GB is being used for system data. Just wondering if anyone had this happen and if they know why?
I have Wanam Xposed (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2383484) installed to tweak things on my stock rom. It's the only thing I really have on here that I've never dabbled with before so I'm not sure if that has something to do with it or not. Just thought I'd give it a shot here, thanks!
Stock, rooted, Canadian SGH-I337M on Bell.

In case another noob like me searches this problem in the future, it was just a backup taking up all that space. An unusually large 4GB one, but I moved it to the SD and freed up all that space.

Can i install CM on korean glaxy s4

I know you guys have probably have this question asked a million times but I have no where else to go. So yesterday i bought a fake galaxy s4 gt-9500 very cheap i think it was korean. It had a dual core 1 ghz cpu 512 mb ram and a 5 MP camera. Unfortionetally the stupid phone wasn't able to read any kind of SD card. It has only 12MB of internal storage. I couldn't even install youtube so i needed an external storage. I assume that this has something to do with the software because it had an SD card slot. So my question is. Will i be able to flash a custom CM ROM on a korean clone and when i do will it read my SD card because when i tried the root it the bootloader menu was in chinesse language.
Thank you

[Q] Upgrading Bell Galaxy S4 SGH-1337 to CM12

Hey guys! First post here, hoping I'm posting in the right thread...
I just wanted some information on upgrading my SGH-1337 Galaxy S4 (unlocked & rooted) to Cyanogenmod 12, as I'll be moving to a new town and my google maps app dies whenever I try to select "walk" or "bus" (I've tried, many, many ,many things to fix this, I also want material design and am sick of waiting for updates )
I've backed up my apps via Helium backup, however if there's a way for me to make a full flashed copy of my current OS that'd be great (I don't really understand TWRP, I'm new to all of this after all!)
I guess what I'm looking for are a bunch of A-Z tutorials
Ah yes, and I also have external 64gb micro sd cards to backup to as well, so if the tutorial requires those then I have, it. Additionally my pohone is currently on android version 4.4.2 Kitkat (which made backing up my stuff to my sd card seemingly impossible as I think that kitkat only allows read only access to the sd card)

I was supposed to sign up with a new provider (Eastlink) tomorrow but I can't do it if I can re-enable AWS 1700 band. Thank you!

need some help

i am trying to get a friend of mine with a gs5 in australia, im in the states, fixed up with root and rom. the problem is i am not familiar with what phone she has over there. it is the 900i. i am having trouble finding a stock android rom that will go on it. seems like everything i find that says it will work on the phone is a touchwiz based rom. can yall please give me a suggestion on a good aosp/cyanogen rom fir this device? or tell me if it, the phone is compatible with the att, sprint, tmo, verizon roms. and i can find one myself.
also.. looking at this thread here... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2699648 ... it is saying to run a backup and backup efs. i have slapped dozens and dozens of roms on phones and never backed up efs. yet i seem to remember some talk about it. anyways.. is this something that is important to backup? she doesnt have a lot of room on her storage. and sd card is maxed to boot. with no spare.
any help would be appreciated.

The 900I goes by KLTEDV
Here is the CM link : https://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=kltedv
If you really want to backup your EFS, you can use a tool called EFS Professional. But, much like you after flashing what has to be literally hundreds of times, I've never had to restore EFS.

Question: Non-root ways to do a nandroid backup?

Hi Everyone
I used to be a frequent XDA user back when I had a Motorola X2, and I rooted and flashed things to that until I broke it pretty much haha. I had an iphone for the last two years, but now I'm considering getting a Samsung S6 Edge.
I do have a question though. I want to stay unrooted (to use Android Pay and Samsung Pay) but I also miss the complete backup that my X2 used to do with a custom recovery. Can I unlock the bootloader (without root) to install a custom recovery, which wont mess with the system partition and allow me to use android pay? Or is there a better, complete backup solution for an unrooted S6 Edge ?
And I'm a software engineer, so don't worry about being too technical I'm very comfortable in the command console LOL.
I found conflicting info online about how to do this, so I thought I'd go straight to the source of all things new and cool for android: XDA !! Thanks in advance for the information.
Hmm I see I accidently posted this in the Edge + forum, my apologies. It's been a while since I came here, even the format has changed. Mods, please feel free to delete this thread.

Galaxy S7 Edge (Verizon) shows only 16GB ram!

I just got a a Galaxy S7 Edge a few weeks ago an it is only showing 16GB or ram. I thought all of the S7 Edges were supposed to have 32GB ram?!?...am I doing something wrong?

Hello,
You wanted to say ROM and not RAM, there's a lot of difference between ROM and RAM , every S7 edge has 4GB of RAM and it can have minimum 32GB of ROM , it's not possible for your phone to have 16GB of ROM.
Grettings,
SwitchDeath
I think you misunderstand RAM and other memory types.
Probably you are referring to your phone's storage capacity.
There are the specs of S7 Edge https://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s7_edge-7945.php
It has 4 gb ram and the Internal storage varies depending on the model, from 32gb to 128gb.
Gentlemen, thanks. I originally meant internal storage which reads 16.00 GB, sorry about the error in terminology. Is the internal storage within the specs of the S7 Edge? Thanks, in advance, Rich.
Go to settings-> device maintenance-> storange and check inside the big circle the storage you have. It should write something like 18 GB /32 GB where the 18 is your remaing capacity and the 32 is your total.
I have this problem as well, not sure why it shows 16GB, I have a 930A flashed to 930U

you need to go to recovery and do a factory reset after flashing a tar.md5 as the stock samsung img automatically assumes that your device has 16gb of storage on every image and factory resetting will allow the system to allocate the actual amount of internal storage the device has.
its ROM not RAM,I have a docomo version also is 16G rom
