Sorry if the problem was written about before, but I've been looking through this forum and google for two days already and I've really run out of ideas. I had bought an used GT 540 from a friend and it worked remarkably well when I flashed it to SDSL 4.0 After having fun with learning the smartphone, since it was my first one, I decided to switch to it as my main phone.
First I wanted to take my simlock off, since it was locked to Orange (PL) and I'm in another network. I've read that it's possible to unlock phones only on stock ROMs, so I decided to use LG Support Tool for it (which I swear to never use again). It said that a new version is available and has flashed my phone to V20B.
Here the problems begin, because the boot is looping at the Android logo. The animation is playing for around half a minute, pauses for a half of a second, then the screen goes black and it appears again.
I've tried to flash the phone using KDZ_FW_UPD_EN and various ROMs in "download mode" by pressing vol - and power buttons.
The first few times it gave me an error:
13:55:00 : Smart : wParam = 100, lParam = 6
13:55:00 : Step : Upgrade Error error code =6

but for the past few times it seems to have completed successfully.
I don't know how to enter fastboot, it's possible that it's been removed along when I flashed the phone using the LG app.
I'm new to Android in general, what other info should I provide to help troubleshooting?
hey
to enter fastnoot u need to press camer(hold long)+ power button
if this dont work search on the google a kdz file with fastboot
flash it via KDZ UPDATER 3QGCT and CS_Eemregency try it without battery and simcard :d

Thanks a lot I wasn't sure of the combination or thought that I checked it earlier and it didn't work.
I've managed to flash a fastboot ROM and then use fastboot to wipe the partitions. Afterwards I flashed the stock ROM (if anybody's curious, it's called FranceOrangeV20C_Fastboot.kdz). Apparently the wipe fixed the bootloop problem along the way, the data on the partitions must've conflicted with the stock rom, not allowing it to boot.
Nice too hear it

I have updated my 2.1 to 2.3.4 swift v2 m6 based on cyangenmod 7.1.0 RCO.
Love the ROM
Issues, I paid for the optus unlock code and have to put in 2945#*520# to put in the provided code. The error comes up Connection problem or invalid MMI code.
I have spent a couple of days looking at different forums and solutions, tried extra pauses etc and still the same issues. One suggested going back to original ROM and trying that, however another issue I have is the phone will not boot back into recovery or bootloader, just turn off and stays that way. I have held different buttons as stated in different threads and even hopped on one foot.
I am happy with this ROM just want to get to the unlock menu, any ideas that I might have missed??
Cheers Ernie
Do you have fastboot, the unlock ccode only works on 1.6 official btw
i think it works on 2.1 too as long as the rom has the hidden menu. so best is to try boot into fastboot via power and camera button. (try holding it very hard and long till the black screen appears) and flash any 2.1 rom
No good
Tried the power camera buttons never worked. Is there a fastboot 2.1 file that was like the 2.3 file that you just double clicked on and it installed the new android? So I can just click on the file 2.1 and it will load up?
Ebay? hope not
Or is there another unlocking solution apart from trying to down grade my android, is there a network unlock that can be performed with other software?
Cheers for any help.
I am not really an optus fan and like to use whatever sim I like at the time, I suppose if I can not unlock the carrier it will go to ebay.
When I power off the phone it gives me the option to shut down, recovery etc however if I choose other than to turn it off it will not reboot.
hmmm rambling now
Ernie
Either flash via KDZ method a 2.1 rom.
Or
Find in development threads thers a recovery zip for 2.1.

Warning
Just a warning, if you get one of these phones network locked, unlock it before upgrading the android.
I have spent a week on this trying to downgrade to 2.1 so I can get to the unlock menu.
I have followed directions from many sites and flashed using kdz, have put recovery on using command prompt, use solution to get the phone to show up menus. Where I fall down is I can not get past the selection where the forums tell me to hold power/camera or other buttons and a menu will come up and give options to select install from sdcard. No matter what I do I can not get to that section??
This is really frustrating me, I have tried so many solution.
However, each time I fail and the phone is black, I just load the recovery with kdz and then click on Android234GT540_06-06-11_eng and this last file auto installs 2.3.4, wonderful, so is there a file like this for 2.1?? if so I pretty sure I can then downgrade then get to the unlock menu.
Or is there another network unlock solution.
Please help
Ernie
Solved
You are the man, thank you sooooooo much, two weeks on getting the downgrade working and this works a treat.
After downgrade I was able to get into the unlock menu and was able to enter the unlock code, I am so happy for your post.

Dr.Alani said:
It does not cause a problem to downgrade to 2.1 without fastboot, I have done that several times. All you have to focus on is the following:
after doing "fastboot -w" turn the phone off. And DO NOT TURN IT ON AGAIN. Remove the battery, sim and SD. Hold the camera + power and then plug the phone to usb it will run into download mode. Run the KDZ updater with CS Emergency mode and flash whatever 20A rom you can have. Before the update ends, it will reboot and ask you to insert the battery. Do not unplug the phone until the KDZ updater gives you the ======= finished ====== message.
I hope this helps.

If your phone has model# 540 then you should dial 2945#*540# not 2945#*520#, i.e. the final three digits should be the model number. Otherwise you will get the error you mentioned.
Greetings all !
Since i am new here, i have a great problem.
So, my phone stopped working few days ago, i needed to log in to my account or something, didnt knew i can fix that with "hard reset" so i googled about 3 hours till i found this forum, great work me !
So i looked a lil bit whats going on here, was searching and searching till i found out how to flash a phone, so i did, and had no success, almost bricked my phone :silly:
So i keepd searching this forum till i found this "

" in a AiO setup here
http://androidforums.com/optimus-gt...ad-swiftdroid-cm-7-1-lg-gt540-new-method.html

so i downloaded that "setup" file, installed it, worked great, i was amazed to be honest, but to be honest, this is the worst mod ever made for android. cynamogen mod cyna my ass -.-
So here is the problem, i didnt like that 2.3.7 update at all, and that addon cyna thing, so i waned to roll it back, connected my phone to PC, removed SIM, Mem card, found a workin ROM i installed before (before i found cyna and android 2.3.7), used KDZ, selected all the options required, and started an update using KDZ, after it finished my phone restarts it by it self, and god stuck on "ANDROID" animation, i thought its bootin' so i let it about 20-30 min to do so, nothing happens :/
UPDATE:
Now my phone is stuck on the LG LOGO, i cant do any thing, all i can do is go in DL MODE but its useless, my pc wont recognize it, so does KDZ, nothin is recognizing my phone, any solutions ?
So my question here is:
- How do i install 1.6 or 2.1 OFFICIAL version (can be CUSTOM ROM) i dont care, i just want my phone to work again
- What is needed (apps, kdz files, etc)
- Is this so bad, did i bricked my phone or ?
btw. Here are some infos 'bout meh:
- Location: Bosnia and Herzegovina
- City: Sarajevo
- Provider: BH TELECOM
- Phone: LG GT540 Optimus
if u need more info just ask !
I DO NOT recommend to use kdz.
if you don't like cyanogenmod, you can try
1. aosp 2.3.7
2. some modded 2.1 ROM
3. stock 2.1 from LG
they can be flashed via recovery (clockworkmod)
as you now already used kdz again i'd recommend to try the following: turn off your device and try to reboot into recovery:
press and hold HOME and then press POWER.
hold HOME till CWM boots up.
if this doesn' work you may try fastboot:
press and hold CAMERA, press power and hold CAMERA till you see a black screen, PC should recognize a new device (fastboot interface)
if this doesn't work too try too boot and hold these buttons:

Hi there!
So I rooted my LG G2 (D802, 4.4.2, Stock, used ioroot) yesterday.
I intend(ed) to flash the Optimus G3 Rom, in the start post they recommended to flash cmw/twrp via "Simple Tool 3.2" (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2633941). After doing so (I used the automated version, not the manual one) I got STUCK ON THE BOOTSCREEN. There is a notification popping up for a few seconds in the left upper corner which lists several errors occurring:
BOOT CERTIFICATION VERIFY
SECURE BOOTING ERROR;
CAUSE: BOOTCERTIFICATION VERIFY
along with the following numbers listed from top to bottom: 710, 760, 810, 860, 910, 960 (I just noticed, the numbers can vary, but always follow the same pattern...)
after this message, the screen fades to black, I think it it is still running though, since it takes more than 10 seconds to reboot the phone by pressing the power button. I still have access to the button down/power button combo which leads to a factory reset setting, but it doesnt do anything for me since I still get stuck at the lg boot screen.
I
Atm I dont what to do! Enter download mode and flash something? I'm seriously kind lost here. So, thank you for your help!

You flashed a custom recovery version thad doesin't match you phone ( example you flashed D801 recovery on D802 phone )
Just search in Q/A and you find the solution to fix it. Be calm , if you phone is booting - you can fix it

Thanks a ton!! Finally I can put a name on the problem (bricking...)- Ironically I never mangaged to get there in 3years of samsung flashing but got there within 15mins of flashing on the LG G2. I guess it's true what they say about samsung devices, as hard to brick as a brick...
I'll report back if it worked...
Weeell, as it turns out my phone isn't recognized by my pc (Win 7) anymore...I literally can't do anything. Any hints?
I can use the Tool, but it's always trying to connect to my phone without success. But when I connect my phone to the computer it opens a dropbox window (import photos) and several windows partitions, which it tells me to format...

Hi All,
I hoping some kind soul will guide/lend a helping hand here?
Here's my problem, I own an LG G2 d802, running kk4.2.2, rooted via towelroot.
Today I decided to for the first time to delve into the world of custom ROM's and what a mistake it was
Basically I downloaded TWRP for d802(img), gapps(d802 version), and cm Resurrection Remix and then I made the fatal mistake of using Flashify to flash TWRP to my phone and rebooting. After doing this I can no longer enter download mode, recovery mode, and when I try to go to either I get the ERROR: boot certification verify: secure booting error.
When I i plug my phone into my computer (drivers & LG support tool installed) my computer recognizes my device, however it displays around 10 or so removable drives i.e f, g, r etc and lots of messages appear saying i need to format them before they can be used and Support tool doesn't recognize my phone as being connected at all
I have searched lots of threads and now realize that Instead of using Flashify I should have used Autorec(lesson learned), I have also searched for possible solutions and the only
one which looks remotely viable is here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582142
My only problem is I have LG G2 d802 32gb model and the files in the above guide/solution are for the LG G2 d802 16gb 10a and even then if they was the correct files I think i would still have a very hard time following/using the files to make my phone live again and also have no knowledge/exp with Linux distro's.
I am a total noob/idiot and don't have a clue how I am going to fix my phone and have pretty much pulled out whats left of my hair in despair!!
Please help me.
Kindest regards, Dark.

I am literally going insane now is there no one here that can even be so kind to say if the above is even the correct way for me to go? or point out a way which may be better or a step by step/link to things I need?
I really don't have the exp/confidence or knowledge to be bale to know if its correct or not and really don't want to make things worse by trying something that may not be right
Can find threads and websites which have similar type situation but all seem to have slightly different to my own as most can seem to have download mode or still be able to boot their OS but i cant do either.
is this below method any use for my situation?

You say in your original post you're running KK 4.2.2. 4.2.2 is Jellybean not KitKat, so which one are you running exactly?
If you didn't use AutoRec your bootloader should still be a Kitkat Bootloader since AutoRec's job is to downgrade your Bootloader to Jellybean.
There are 2 ways to access Recovery Mode on a G2 depending on the current Bootloader.
Method 1 (Jellybean Bootloader)
Turn G2 Off. Hold PWR + VOL DWN, when LG Logo appears let go and hold PWR + VOL DWN.
Method 2 (KitKat Bootloader)
Turn G2 Off. How PWR + VOL DWN, when LG Logo appears, let go and hold VOL UP + VOL DWN.
Do either of those work?

Well since you can't access Recovery Mode, you can't access Download Mode and your receiving a Boot Error, It sounds like your only option here is to follow this tutorial.
As for the files you need, you have a 32GB D802. Download this .7z package and extract it. You'll find all the .img files you need. Now follow the tutorial .

Hi guys,
this is my first x compact. I unlocked the bootloader per sony's instructions on their site + what I read here.
I flashed twrp, booted to recovery, and wiped and installed the lineage 16.0 which is stickied.
Everything worked great but various rootcheckers said still not rooted. This bothered me.
I followed the thread (https://forum.xda-developers.com/x-compact/how-to/stock-8-0-root-recovery-t3747479).
I used flashtool to flash stock oreo. After that, bootloops. And can't access recovery.
I can still enter flash mode and fastboot mode, but using the CMD in platform-tools, phone not recognized.
There must be something I can do? Thank you.

Use Flashtool again, and this time, before clicking , in the box that says "wipe", check 'userdata'.
Back up anything you want to save in internal storage.

Hi friend, please maybe you can help me. I have almost the same issue. But after using LineageOS for some days, my phone stuck in boot logo. I managed to use Flash Tool to flash latest original stock ROM (Customized IBE). Strangely the flash process ended OK, but the phone still stuck in boot logo. I'm only able to force shut down with Volumen Up+Power Off (3 vibrates). Not possible to enter Recovery Mode.
I'm 98% sure that I have flashed with check in wipe USERDATE and also in CUST-RESET. But I wanted to try again, and now Im not able to enter flashmode. Phone gets green light, when volume down, but Flashstool is not recognizing the phone.
Thanks in advance

yes, after hard work to install drivers, I managed to get the phone to be recognized by Flashtool in fastboot mode. But the phone is not charging when turned off, and its not rebooting. I wanted to try again with stock ROM, since I got some battery issues with LineageOS (phone turned off while playing some games, and worked fine while doing the same with usb cable charging to laptop or AC charger.)
But I cannot do anything right now. Only fastboot mode and force restart works, but it stuck in Sony logo (after normal bootloader unlock 5 seconds warning). What can I do?
