Automatic security policy update, you can disable it in future if you wish, settings > security > untick Auto security updates (PS it does no real harm tbh)
It says
Latest security policy has been applied
-current version:0012

Yup it's part of the system, it will have been issued by either carrier (depending on what they are updating) or Samsung and it'll fix any KNOX notifications. - It's nothing bad, if anything it's to help the device.

Anyone else seeing this. Doesn't matter if on WiFi or not when the screen goes off the data disconnects and background data is no longer functioning. Is this a problem with the phone or a feature. I only ask because it disconnects Google talk and when I pick up the phone I get all my notifications from gmail, Facebook, etc.

When I woke up this morning the WiFi WS disconnected on my phone.

My HTC does this as a feature. In wireless, you can hit settings and it brings up an advanced settings tab where you can set sleep. But It's on sense 2.1 so it may not have anything to do with your problem.

And as soon as it connected you got all your notifications?
This shows that background data is not working properly....

Are you sure you don't have "restrict background data" checked?

Settings -> WiFi -> menu -> Advanced
Make sure "Wi-Fi optimization" is checked and "Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep" is set to "Always".

Both of those are as you said. I'm going to try turning off optimization and see if that fixes it
Update: still has the same problem. Anyone have any ideas?

All the sudden Watch On app is turning itself on and showing in the notifications area. I turn it off(tell it not to) but when I restart it's back. What happened? Fix?
Thanks.

Check your settings and disable the "show remote in notifications"

Thanks, but that's what I have tried 6 times now. It automatically puts it back on restart.
Please help.

I came here and was just about to ask the same question. I could not figure out why this thing was always on in the notifications and status bar!
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S4 using xda app-developers app
That is weird because I use my watch on app all the time. I disabled the notification from settings once and it stayed true. Are you running a custom ROM? I'm on ShoStock v2.0.

Not rooted. All stock.

Same here. Started happening a couple days ago. Every restart its in my notifications. I'm running mint jelly rom.

I am running SHOstock 2 and it happens to me too.
I reported it to samsung, you should too,
in the Settings near the bottom
Send feedback or get help
Report this faulty app Please!!!!
fix
Unless Samsung has updated the app behind the scenes.
This seems to have fixed the issue:
Under settings go into your applications
go to Samsung Watchon and hit the clear button,
Yes, you will have to re-setup your TV\Cable,
but the checkbox does not reset now.
I emailed them about the issue. You can report bugs from the app. I suggest everyone do the same

So, I'm trying to pinpoint exactly what keeps using this process (com.google.process.location) any ideas? I've looked at other threads... No luck. I do use Google now... Would this affect this even if I've placed location history and location reporting off? Another app which I think is the issue is "find my friends" would this happen to be using up my location even though I have put the location reporting off in Google settings? Thanks for any help.

However, I don't want to always have to put on and off location settings when I use something like maps.

Your not turning off your GPS. Your turning off the wireless network which cause the Google services drain.

I think I solved such an issue on one of our s4 by uninstalling maps app (restore original) and reinstalling

Has anybody received this security update? And if so what did you do? Should I just accept it or cancel. Btw I'm rooted mja stock rom and kernel.

Accept it and you won't get the mag anymore.

Sent from my SPH-L720 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I think he meant nag. As in nagging popups
Sent from my SPH-L720 using xda app-developers app
Ah, so it's not going to really change anything. I hit cancel. Now the nag is gone.. haha didn't really mind the nag just didn't want it change anything to my device.
Sent from my SPH-L720 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Anytime I would connect to wifi I would get that popup. I cancelled it at first but I cant watch any videos from my device. For example youtube will say "cant connect to server" or a video on facebook "cannot be played" If I switch back to using mobile network they play fine, so out of annoyance I clicked the update option and it doesn't nag me when I connect to wifi but I still can watch any videos. Any suggestions ?
Not sure if anyone else has had this issue but chaton (something I never use) has managed to re-enable itself and update itself to the latest version twice this week. Anyone else had this problem? Is there a way to "kill it" without rooting etc?

Already did that twice. I think its the samsung store thats the issue. It keeps updating it and enabling it.
