App keeps re-enabling itself - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Not sure if anyone else has had this issue but chaton (something I never use) has managed to re-enable itself and update itself to the latest version twice this week. Anyone else had this problem? Is there a way to "kill it" without rooting etc?

go to app settings and uninstall or disable

Already did that twice. I think its the samsung store thats the issue. It keeps updating it and enabling it.

Every app is auto starting after it is installed

Kind of annoying... is there a setting to stop this? Or I may have got some malware?

I've never heard of this. After installing an app in the Play Store, it just opens by itself?
I'm not exactly sure what you mean either, but I find it an enlightening process to use something like Autostarts every now and then to keep an eye on new apps and widgets to see when they're triggering themselves.

Well, basically it's every app, no matter l install from play store or I side load an apk. It wasn't like this initially, but I cannot figure out what triggered this.

I have theses apps as well on my S4 (SGH-I337). I disabled both with systemcleanup
Have both here too on i9500
disable from app manager
Same here on my I9500.

Why is this happening?

Recently I've been getting this notification when I try to update an app.
How do I get rid of it?

You may have a rogue app.
You may need to check all your apps
To track it down.

Lol. Its a rogue/adware/spyware app. Goto application manager from settings and hunt it down. Roast it and eat it. Also, maybe uninstall it?

Defiantly a rough app.
I would suggest a wipe in such cases, this is to fully ensure elimination of the problem.

Apps unfortunately close

I've been rooted and removed some bloat ware but have not gone overboard. I can't figure out why XDA and Zedge and a few other apps are giving me the dreaded unfortunately xda has stopped message with black screen. Is this happening to anyone else and is there something I need to fix? Thanks
Did you try clearing data on the app?

Genie widget (News & Weather app) after 4.3 update

Does anyone else still use this? I've noticed that the app is really choppy and sluggish since the MJA update. Has anyone else experienced and/or found a solution to this?

I use it, no issues.
Yeah, I figured out that problem - I was using an old version. I pulled the genie.apk out of the most recent gapps and all is well. Thanks!
