I receive calls while in the shower all the time, so I just have it there just in case. Could loose some business, as I even charge for minutes on the phone.
Plus, I Can!!!

I was in the shower texting, and my phone just froze and started vibrating, but I was still able to turn it off through the power button, then I just finished showering. and tried to turn it on, and it wouldn't turn on. So then I put it in the charger and stuff to try. So it still doesn't work. So I tried powering it up like 5 times. So is it possible I short circuited it ? And how long should I leave it in raw rice ?
In the shower texting. I think you may have a bigger problem than just a fried phone.
As for the phone.... you can try rice, but since you kept messing with it instead of putting it directly into the rice its probably fried. Anyway, about 5-7 days. Without taking it out to mess with it.

The water indicators are completely white though.. Any chances?

Did you atleast have it in a plastic bag or something? If not why would you text in the shower? But basically yea 5-7 days. I accidentally went swimming with my MT3G and left it for about 2-3 days and it came back on but the digitizer was dead.

Texting in the shower? Really... facepalm
So yeah, dont do that again.. and if you do, then like the above poster said... anytime your phone gets wet and shuts off DO NOT attempt to power it back on... that's where everything gets fried

Let's see...you took your phone in the shower...then you failed to heed any advice about the length of time to keep your phone in rice.
And then you got lucky.
Your phone WILL be screwed one day soon. Guaranteed!

Yeah, phones with a physical keyboard, last longer . Damn old phones were so good! Drop it a million times, it still works. Get it a wet dry a little, still works fine!
Yeah , so i put an alarm for 4 in the morning and i completely did not hear the noise. So the phone was going off for 2 and a half hours. The screen was on the whole time and it was on the charger. I go to turn off the alarm and the phone screen was sooooo hot. So i took out the battery and let it chill. Put it back in and now when i turn it on it says thats stuff about the sd card and blah blah and then it shuts off. I have a warranty and i think this will cover it.

The iphone shuts off and gives you a warning when overheated so it doesnt damage the phone. Android OS doesnt have this precaution?
Yea i left my old iPhone under a lamp once and when i came back it was hotter than a frying pan and had a yellow caution sign on it xD. It still worked though

I noticed that too. Perhaps it's because the radio is using more power?
I also met this problem today, everything goes weird since I update my Atrix4G several days ago...
Is this related with system update?
I had a heat issue some time ago before the 1.83 update. I believe mine was related to some of the apps I had loaded periodically turned things on and off like the GPS and WiFi. Since flashing back and updating to .83 then rooting I haven't had that problem.

So I took my ambian like I always do and decided I was going to take a bath cause of a lower back ache. I was surfing the web and I guess the ambian kicked in and knocked my ass out! Well got out of the tub cause the water was getting cold, got out and turned on the light. I was looking all over the place for my phone and panicked when I saw it under water in the TUB!!! I picked it up and it came on, shook it off and have had zero problems out of it, charge port was open and I have no idea how it still works, it was under water for a lonnnnnnng time!
hmmmmm tell us how well it works tommorrow
Been three days now so Im calling it good!
i find this very hard to believe haha miracles do happen sir
can you try it again?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Lol! My wife takes 20-40 mg of Ambien every night (as prescribed), in addition to other stuff for insomnia (and even all THAT doesn't always knock her out) so I know what you mean with that.
Waterproof, though, is lucky. Be very happy you lucked out.
You should have probably immediately taken the battery out and rinsed it with distilled water.
It will probably start corroding inside soon and die on you.
Also when you take Ambien you should be ALREADY in bed, not walking around or taking baths.
Interesting story though.
I have seen it before. It will corrode over time. Then it will drain battery really fast. But everything will work.
I have been worried about corrosion too but i did pull the battery out and clean everything really well. The thing that turn pink when wet is still white so somehow the water didn't get in there. Not going to try it again.

The Non-tablet Z has a moisture indicator at the headphone jacket which turns red if it gets wet and probably at the other flaps too. I'd imagine the Tablet Z has these too. If those are still okay water damage is probably covered. But that is just speculation.
Mine went under the tab yesterday, today I plan to have a nice long bath with it.
Edit: still alive. Partially submerged use is not practical though because waves trigger the touchscreen. So you have to hold it fully out of the water to use it, even if you do not do anything active, like watching a movie. Not unexpected, but still..

As per my other thread - mine went straight into the sea!

You need kids. Sticky chocolate fingers? Just washing it off is heaven compared to other tablets.
Finally dunk my tablet. Did once over the weekend. Then was confident enough took it to work and dunk it in the office kitchen sink to proof to some of my colleagues who were skeptical about it being waterproof. Sure prooved them wrong hehehe.

Mine has gone into a pool already for confidence building. Apart from the speakers being clogged for like half an hour, it appears to have lived up to its promise, but it wasn't fully submerged (almost was). Given I don't have a warranty coverage at all, it was pretty risky.
I did take a picture though, and it's definitely a conversation point.
Hello everyone,
I got this problem with my LG G2 that it fell in the water once, I directly put off the phone. (It was still intact after falling in water).
Later I turned it on but the screen did not show up. Sound works, Vibration works, TOUCH screen works (no graphical stuff) and even if I call my self with another phone the LG goes off, vibrates, plays the ringtone and everything.
I sent my phone to Dynafix which is the repair center, they said it's not available for warranty, because its water damage and they declared the phone as "Unrecoverable". Which I think is pretty weird. I have thought of repairing it myself by buying and new LCD and Digitalizer.
(w w w . etradesupply . com/lg-g2-d800-lcd-screen-and-digitizer-assembly.html)
I have never done that though but with a good tutorial on YouTube and the right tools I should be able to do it. But before I take any action which may not work I want more info about this problem.
I made a video of my phone but can't post any links here, the name is: "LG G2 screen doesnt go on? [HELP!]"
Thanks:good:
Don't waste your time or money on this. If it was completely immersed in water, it is in fact unrecoverable. The water might not have an effect on the device the first couple of hours, but after a short while it will corrode it's way trough the device, rendering it useless. The repair center won't touch it because they know that no matter what they do, there is a huge risk that the corrosion will come back. You're better off with a new device.

The phone in on the charger and on, Everyday I still hear sounds and such. The phone hasnt been in water more then 1 sec though. And afterwards I left it drying in dry rice for 1 week. I know i am a bit selfish but I think there could be a chance of making it work.
The phone comes with a subscription for 2 years and it's not even a year old ;/

Not exactly the same but a friend was skipping lessons at school when we were like 10 (10ish years ago) and using Gameboy Advance SP in the toilets... you can guess what happened... Any way i took it apart and left it in a closet for a few days, gave it back to him fully working after. So it's not necessarily un-fixable.

Well yeah, I just turned it off got the back cover off but not got the battery out. and let it dry.
Is there any way to acces the phone's screen through my PC? The phone is rooted.
Fixed the phone!
I removed the main board from the phone and brushed the connections with a toothbrush. Re-assembled the phone and it worked!
The only money I spent is for a plastic opening tool and a philips screwdriver.
