[Q] "Sorry ! Plug & Pop unfortunately stopped - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just a quick question .... Anyone gotten a "SORRY! unfortunately Plug & Pop has stopped" error ??
I am only rooted (just over 24 hours new device) and have uninstalled (not deleted) some bloatware w/ TiBU .... It's the 'ethernet' setting .... MTP setting works .... just weird it started happening ... WTF ?!
NO, haven't installed XPOSED, etc ....

Happened to me when I installed a nav bar hiding app. I think it may have also happened when I started using nova launcher as well, but I can't remember.
Just ran across this as well http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2549002. I know you said you haven't installed xposed, but it may be worth a look since it's for people with the same issue you're experiencing.

Did you hide navigation bar? This error goes from LG tool, which display animation and action choices after you plug USB cable or accessories.
If you don't want to install Xposed framework and my mod from above post, then you better use Titanium Backup and freeze this app.

I only get that if plug in an earphone jack and tap edit from the menu that comes. The short cuts work fine though.
I did install a kitkat launcher (without rooting).
I have since removed that launcher, but i still get the plug and pop message when I tap the edit button.
Any ideas?

[Q] Please help. Multitude of issues.

OK. So, I recently installed the KK 4.4.2 update on a stock rom. One of the things I've found (so far) that I hate the most about it is the stupid Goggle Now swipe up gesture. I use Auto Hide Soft Keys. With this new feature, I can't use it anymore. I have searched and searched, tried and tried to find the right solution. What I did last night was, I installed the xposed framework and the G2 Tweaks app. Played around with it for a bit. Made a few changes, not many. After reboot, I started getting popups that my LG keyboard stopped unexpectantly. I was unable to use it all. Using Titanium Backup, I froze the xposed framework app, the G2 Tweaks app and the LG keyboard (after it still wouldn't work for me). Had to go and download the swiftkey keyboard (which I hate) as a temporary workaround. So what I need to know is, 1: How do I fix my stock keyboard so that it won't force close? 2: What is the best option to completely eliminate that stupid Google Now BS? 3: Another issue I have discovered is that every time I turn my data off (which is all the time), I get a pesky voicemail notification that my data service is N/A and can't sync visual voicemail. How do I stop this? Is there a way without completely disableing my voicemail app? Please help! Thanks.
hi
you should have a "xposed disabler.zip" on your sd card. ..flash it and wipe caches
i use LMT launcher
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1330150
go in option and activate it in first ...
with
LG pie support xposed module
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2689890
and gravitybox xposed module.

[Q] can't click on "install" when I try to install APK

I am using the international version of the g2 and its rooted , I've tried installing few apk files it doesn't work , i ts not the "unknown sources" option and I don't have screen filter , it just doesn't work suddenly , last apps Install were : echo notification , maxthon browser and push bullet before that i didn't have a problem ...
it's probably one of the apps you have stopping you pressing the install button
had it happen to me a while a go on a nexus 4, a screen colour filter adjustment app was the culprit. I know you say you don't have one so I guess another app is impeding it

question regarding freezing apps

can you freeze all the streaming apps (netflix e.t.c) or delete them via root? i don't need them and all they do is take up space with the limited memory it has already.
I don't believe you even need root for this, you can just go to the Android settings->apps menu, find each app you don't want and press disable.
This was one of the first things I did when I switched on my shield as I will never use Plex and cluttered menu entries annoy me!
dont delete most system/bloatware
Hi, I have the NSTV for almost a month & I crashed it the first day when I gain root, flashed TWRP, ect....so how did it crash?
Well after succesfully restarting the system & setting it up again! I started to delete the bloatware & I deleted most of the apps that I didn't want..until I installed my favorite keyboard app which takes less space & the first thing I did was delete the leanback keyboard......My NSTV was NOT happy as soon as I did that....intents of dialog messages flooded the screen & crashed it
so the next thing I did was boot into bootlooder & flash a recovery.zip with all the images..except stock recovery...I kept TWRP...after that I set my system back up installed link2sd again to delete the other bloatware, but this time I disabled leanback keyboard in favor of the other app....can you guess what happen next?
YES....it crashed again....so I decided to delete all the bloatware that I didn't want & kept leanback keyboard.
Now I decided to use a bluetooth keyboard from now on...but I wish the leanback keyboard will stop popping up even though im using an external keyboard...

that is highly annoying, so even though you have a 3rd party keyboard app installed the leanback keyboard popes up aswell? i use swift keyboard and usb keyborad additionally.

You can freeze the system apps such as all the bloatware you don't want without root, but to get rid of the apps permanentally you WILL need root...also my system stop crashing after installing some xposed modules that deal with input type....but anyway as long as you don't touch any actual system related apps you will be okay.

Unable to grant storage and other permissions due to Screen Overlay

Hi All,
As usual it is the first place for me to look for help.
I updated my A5 2016 device with the latest security update. While installing, I was assured that i would be able to uninstall that update.
I couldn't.
But this is not the actual problem.
Now I am unable to grant permissions to apps like Camera, Storage etc because whenever I try to do that it says Screen Overlay Detected on which screen none of the apps are turned on including the system apps. I am really annoyed with this feature (or bug) of the Android Marshmallow. I seek your help in solving this.
I am rooted with custom Xposed ver 86.
Try unchecked all screen overlays, even system app ones? Also, there might be another screen overlay that might not hv been listed. Eg: if u hv pie with gravitybox enabled you have to disable it in the app itself.

Thank you so much for the valuable Help.
I recently found that some of my apps crashed suddenly and that the following error popped up: Unfortunately Phone has Stopped, Unfortunately ES File Explorer Has Stopped.
After I click OK it pops up again. So in a wonderfully foolish step I uninstalled the Phone App and now the phone will not reboot.
I uninstalled Xposed but nothing helped. Finally after lots of research on XDA and otherwise I flashed The Stock Firmware for my Phone SM-A510FD.
It rebooted just as fine but now the same problem is there and is not resolved. Moreover if i Open some app like Play Books while i am getting the error, the popup of the error stops until i open the Phone app again. I opened my phone in Safe MOde and saw that the same problem is also there which means it is not caused by some third party apps. PLease help.

I seem to have found the solution for the problem regarding crashing of the Phone App. The Phone App uses Screen Overlay in which we select SIM1 or SIM2. Turning that off would result in hampering its functionality. After i did turn on the screen overlay for Phone App, it is functioning just as fine and no crashes for atleast the phone app. I wonder to what lengths i went to solve this issue and the issue lied in my thing only.

System UI crash, navbar/stautus bar?

Hey guys
So my dumb ass installed a custom status bar (substratum), and I had a navbar overlay installed. After a reboot I just get the "System UI has stopped" error. Black screen, can't get anywhere.
Any way to manually delete it? Hoping to not having to do a complete reset, since well... a lot of stuff is on there... And I need my phone tomorrow...

This exact problem has happened to me.. I keep a spare backup in hand. Sucks to learn the hard way but you gotta reset the device. There may be a way if you can locate the substratum apks that are giving you issues and to uninstall them, you may want to do some research about if that is possible.
reboot to safe mode,
open settings / apps > search apk name (usually android.Subsname... or com.android.systemui.Subsname.... ) and uninstall,
reboot.
