[Q] Problem With Antigen Rom - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

Hi all!
I am currently running v1.9 of antigen by venum.
The rom is awesome, the only problem i've had with it so far is it will randomly reboot from time to time, sometimes just when i have the screen off, or when i get done with a call, the screen wont come back on and then i have to hold the power button and it will boot up.
Any help will be awesome!
Thank you

Its the kt kernel that comes with it... Some phones don't like it kernel that much. You could try flashing a different kernel.

What speed are you trying to overclock it to?
trying to get t above stock.. i've tried 1036, 1190 all up to 1536. the result is the same, phone freezes, reboots constantly
try changing the kernel to something that allows overclocking

By definition if he's able to set a clock higher than 998mhz then he's ALREADY running a kernel that allows overclocking, otherwise he wouldn't be able to change anything.
To the OP:- You may just be unlucky and have a phone that doesn't overclock well, the same as you would have on a computer. By all means try a different kernel, I find my phone is more stable at higher overclocks using MDJ's 10.4 kernel than anyone elses.

Yes, it's neccessary to have an overclockable kernel of your currently ROM for setting CPU frequency over 998MHz.

I got the same problem with my T-Mous HD2. I can't get stability on Android on any ROM and kernell. It become hot and freez. I changet kernells a lot. I had stability just on MDJ's SD early Rom.
I have no idea what to do...
T-Mous HD2+overclocking= epic fail
i should prob mention that its the TMous version that i'm rocking.. not sure if its directly related but w/e
i've tried sitching kernels before, but whenever i do the phone wont boot at all.. just goes into boot cycle. then again, i've only tried one (raf's kernel)so im not sure which one will work -_-

[Q] Custom Kernel bootscreen kinda weird...

I flashed Twilight and everything is great except the bootscreen has "android" in the middle of the screen when it boots. I swear I've read how to fix it before a couple weeks ago but now I cannot find the the post. Will anyone help? Thanks!
Edit: Nevermind, I did a little more digging..

Care to share what you found. I have the same issue. Flashed the genocide kernal it's working great other than the goofy bootscreen.

It friends on the situation. If your on a custom rom that has a boot animation in it you need to flash the rom and kernel a second time work out wiping.
If your on a rom that uses the stock boot animation you need to delete the stock animation and add a boitanimation.zip to system/media.
I forget the exact files to delete

The fix will be in the kernel, not the ROM. It was never a ROM problem and never will be. Samsung broke RNDIS in the kernel.

i'm not gonna need it this time actually cause i'm using cm7 6.4.2 by mik at the moment..
Ohh the only reason why I'm still sticking with 2.2 is because the 2.3 is not really stable yet so I'm kinda worried abt that. How's the beta 6.4.2 going?

it works great for me..it's stable at 748 clock but still when you really into saving your battery, i won't suggest this much cause it still drains faster than the froyo and bluetooth calls still doesn't work..well those were just my main concern with it as of the moment..though there's more to love other than the battery so it's all good for me..
Yep I'm really in to saving battery so that's my main issue
Can you post pictures of the theme?
Hi there I can't, for some reasion reboot into recovery with CW from rom manager! I have installed roms on three different phones, with no problems! But I have ruined 3 optimus v's trying to do the same Any advice?

[Q] No OC after s-off

Hi.
I cant seem to get my girlfriends wildfire to accept a overclocked kernel after i used Alpha´s new s-off tool, and rooted it. No matter what kernel i use, it never starts up, it hangs very long time at the screen, HTC makes it quietly (or something) and then i restarts?
Any suggestions?
And no, she dosent want CM, she wants sense :-(
Cheers and thx for helping.

then only one solution I belive ,reflash rom...then be easy on oc,step by step and nex time skip to sheck "set on boot option, then if it freezes it will boot stock @528 and you wil know what is max Mhz you can set, good luck
There's another problem with your idea...
Whenever he flashes a OC Kernel he's bootlooping.
he should post what rom is he trying to oc then we will be smarter I belive, like this its just guesing... right
Edit:when he reflash rom he will be able to BOOT right?
Guessing from the fact he mentioned HTC Sense, I'm presuming he's using stock.
And yes, it should since ROMs install a new Kernel.
should use custom sense based rom, not the stock
There's only one person that can tell us that *cough*
just trying to help, since he cant get oc on stock rom with any oc kernel...custom rom is logic idea i belive
That's true.
And if his GF is not so technologically interested she wouldn't notice the difference between stock or WildPuzzle ;D
Have you tried HCDR.kernel v4.2. It can be flashed on any wildfire rom.
Personally tried it on stock 2.2.1 (after alpharevx s-off) without any issues.
Link here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=798471
You further need an overclocking app like set cpu. If facing any issues, format the phone and make a clean install. Still facing issues, go with a sense custom Rom which already has inbuilt oc kernel.

Hi guys, sorry for not answering, but i live in Denmark and its now 10 o´clock in the morning, i posted just before midnight.
She is using stock rom 2.2, and i have tryed the wildpuzzle and i didnt think it was smooth, it gave her errors, and then she complained :-(
I have tryed theese kernels:
oc-kernel-2.6.32
oc-kernel-2.6.32 v2
Hcdr.kernel_4.2b_flashable
Could there be a recovery version issue, using 2.5.0.7, just wild gues?
Thx for helping me out.
Brian
Well you can only flash Kernels with 2.5
Have you tried other Sense based roms?
(DK custom or JokerDroid (has a different theme then stock))
Hi.
Yes i have tryed those, but she is not like me, she wants a phone that is working 100%, me i dont care, i work on my legend all the time.
So the fact that she wants a phone that is working 100% made me stay on stock and try to renew the kernel, but isnt working the way i want it to.
Maybe i shold try a clean install og stock, and then the kernel
Tryed again, fresh stock rom, still no good.
Jokerdroid 4.2 worked, lets se her reaction
Thx for helping.

[4.2.1] A kernel with good battery and some assists

I've been using the N7 for over a month now, but just got time to unlock and root it. So I got rooted 4.2.1 running. The battery life is poor. Could you guys suggest me a kernel for stock with good battery backup?
And maybe a good stock based rom too,to go with that?
Thanks.
Battery life is more dependent on personal usage than anything. I regularly see (in a standard 18-24 hour day) over 7 hours of screentime with 3 hours of heavy 3d gaming on stock (battery life has increased over time though). If people actually used their device the exact same way everytime they would discover all this "extra life" actually is very negligible.
With that said, Trinity is an excellent kernel to give a shot.

Franco kernel is great for battery and performance

My personal vote is for M-Kernel.
Just rooted and running stock rom with trinity.. My nexus is running great so far.

i always recommend trinity kernel, because that's what i always use, on all my devices. well, just because . but you should try out a few other kernels, to find the one your device likes best. all our devices react differently to these kernels. what one user might find as absolute best on their device, another user might find to be the worst.
My vote goes for M-Kernel with 666mhz lp core. Easily 6-7 hours of screen time with games
I'd like to recommend Franco or M-kernel if you want great battery life.
Thank you all !!!!

If it's boot.img then you need to flash it using fastboot. Simply reboot to bootloader(on your N7),run cmd.exe(on your PC) and type fastboot flash boot boot.img(change the boot.img to the name of the kernel).
Correct me if I'm wrong.

Great. I got mine a month back, just unlocked it a day back. So are you running stock or any custom rom ? I could use some reviews .
Guys.. I need help. I flashed the M kernel. Then Wifi doesn't turn on. I revert to the NAND i made. Still Wifi doesn't turn on. It says "Obtaining IP address " . That's it. Please. I'm desperate.
I vote against Franco kernel, because for me it never goes below 400MHz, heavily destroying battery life. Also, the companion app is expensive and not really working well, especially when setting frequency. I wished somebody made a kernel from stock, with only undervolting capabilities patched in, the same for the N4. I guess I will have to look into that myself sometime in the future.
