[Q] URGENT/ASAP HELP PLEASE - Selling Phone Tommorw - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey
I have a Galaxy S4-19500. It has the official 4.3 android stock ROM installed. I have tried to flash a stock kernel onto the phone but nothing changes.
How can I get this to stock before I sell it tomorrow?
Also is there anyway to get rid of binary count im on stock unrooted but still getting 1 warranty bit

This is an image of my software settings atm.
Your help is deeply appreciated.

Bumb bumb bumb bumb

Nothing wrong here.
I don't see anything wrong with this. If you haven't tried rooting this before with 4.2.3 then flashed the new 4.3 Firmware manually, you'll be just fine.

Why don't you just flash a new stock rom and start afresh. As for the warrant bit, i don't think you can reset it sorry.

RULE 5. Create a thread or post a message only once.
As a large forum, we don't need unnecessary clutter. You're free to edit your message as you like, so if you do not receive an answer, revisit your message and see if you can describe your problem better. Not everyone is online at the same time so it might take a while before you receive an answer. (Also refer to Rule 16)
RULE 16. Bumping Threads (posting simply to force a thread to the top of the thread queue)
Do not "bump" a thread more than once per 24 hours.

I only made two threads as one wasn't posted as a question, I tried to delete the other then realized I couldn't.
I needed help urgently i'm sorry if this caused any trouble. I just want the phone to be stock so I can sell it today with no problems.
I already flashed a stock ROM and it won't get rid of that kernel.
As for the bumping , I didn't read the rule and now I have I won't do it again.
So is the kernal i have at the moment stock? Because I remember getting it from Rom Switcher. Im not going to root the phone again.

Then why does it say installed OCT 14? Is that not a custom kernel?

[Q] Updating a Custom Rom

Hello Everyone,
I'm in need of a little help, please point me in the right direction. I purchased a used Verizon Galaxy S4 with a custom ROM installed. I tried updating the phone from settings, but when installing the update i get a picture of a dead android character with an error. So I guess doing it that way on a custom ROM is a no go. My goal is just to update the phone to the newest stock rom. Do I need to flash? I'm not customed to dealing with flashing android roms, but I'm no slouch in the tech issues, I just need to know where to start.
I know I can google the issue, but theres a million guides, which is why the start process seems difficult.
I've attached a screenshot of the device information.
Thank you very kindly for your time.
First you need to go to the proper forum
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-verizon
Just find a stock rom and flash it using Odin.
Thanks man!:good::good:

[Help] Updating to new ROM after a year? 4.4.2 to 5.0.1, anything I need to do first?

Hello all, flashed v28 of Omega rom (4.4.2) way back to my t-mobile galaxy s4 (sgh-m919? Device model shows i9505 but device name is still sgh-m919 and I bought it from t-mobile). In the past I've done this a few times, usually from stock phones, but it has been a while since I've done this and I've never made a major upgrade to a newer ROM. Im a bit hesitant to do this on my own without first posting as I hardly remember what I flashed to my S4 the first time around other than the Omega ROM, and I haven't been keeping up with S4 development at all since then, so I'm unsure of whether or not I can simply wipe and install v41 of Omega (current ROM has started being wonky, various things becoming unstable, cannot connect to camera, etc). I was reading the thread and there was enough talk of kernels, custom boot loaders, and other things that I just felt confused and decided to seek the wisdom of the forum before proceeding. But, I am correct in assuming that this ROM which carries i9505 in the title thread can be flashed to my device yes? If I recall correctly that is what I did before.
If anyone can advise me, caution me, or otherwise inform me, that would be very, very helpful,
Thanks.
First thing which you need to do is move this post to the general section

Ah, you're right. Had the wrong browser window open. If a moderator kindly would?
I already reported the thread, so the mods will see it, evaluate things, then move the thread to its proper location. Moderators are unlikely to see requests to move the thread nor comments from others that the thread needs to be moved. Report the post rather than wasting time posting about it.
Thanks for the explanation and thanks to the mods for the move, its obvious I don't post on this forum much.
Back to the topic at hand, anyone care to comment? Anything I need to do?
Specific help for your T-mobile device can be found at http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-tmobile as this is the international S4 forum. In general, you should be able to use any ROM from this forum, provided it does not flash a bootloader or modem. Most don't. The only wrinkle I can think of is that if a ROM uses a custom kernel, your device may reject that kernel. Thus you should look at the link I provided and see if there is a custom kernel for your S4 that you can flash after flashing the ROM.
Needless to say, make sure you do a factory reset in recovery to wipe out any lingering problems Omega ROM may have caused.
I may have flashed a modem previously when I originally flashed Omega ROM. If so, will this cause a problem? I'll take a look at the other forum, thanks.

Still need help with Reverting back to Kitkat on S5

So I posted a thread the other day to try and find help with my S5 I just got, yet no avail. So I'm here again, trying a new one to see if it gets me anywhere. The problem is this, I believe my phone is un-able to revert to Kitkat, because Kitkat was never on it in the first place. It came stock, out of the box with Lollipop. So I'm looking for anyway to get it to Kitkat, even if I have to brick the darn thing by removing the bootloader and everything on the phone to load in stock kitkat. So any advice or questions would be so very helpful. I'm going crazy trying to find a solution! Please help!

You can find all the info you need in this post.
Don't know what your firmware is but the oldest base you can go is NB1 (4.4.2).
Root the phone with towel root.
Install either flash fire or safestrap and flash the desire lollipop rom.
Hello! I don't want to start a new thread just yet, but I'm also stuck in a bootloop after a mishap during a manual update. Is it possible to recover any of the internal files when recovering the phone, or is it impossible? Honestly, I just want the files off of my phone more than anything else. There are a lot of memories there that I would love to save...I know, I know, I should have backed up those files, but that chance is gone now. :crying:

Updating stock

Hello guys, I had my phone rooted a while ago (HTC ONE M8, international version or say INDIAN version) and was running on custom roms. Then came the Marshmallow update so I unrooted and all no RUU was available for Android M so I flashed Android L and updated OTA. And then again i had so many apps and god knows what and I wanted a fresh slate as everything was slowing it down very much and somehow I flashed the zip file using the sdcard method. And now the system is taking a good 7-8 GB of the internal 16GB. Right now the phone is RELOCKED, STOCK RECOVERY, UNROOTED. Just think of it as in a default condition. Now I have "0P6BIMG_M8_UHL_M60_SENSE70_MR_hTC_Asia_India_6.15. 720.2_Radio_1.29.214500021.12G_20.72.4196t.01_F_re lease_469495_signed" This RUU.zip. I WANT TO WIPE EVERYTHING PREVIOUSLY ON THE PHONE, LITERALLY EVERYTHING, AND THEN INSTALL THIS RUU SO THAT IT USES THE MINIMUM POSSIBLE SYSTEM SPACE. How to do that? I do not need a detailed guide just give me the step-wise information as in flash TWRP first then do this, then do that, you know what I am saying. Please help me out here it would be a lot of help, I can not see this great a device lagging doing the normal stuff. THANK YOU :fingers-crossed:
Stick to one thread, and please stop posting the same thing over and over (you've now copy/pasted the exact same post 3 times). I've provided some guidance in to the other thread you posted in.
"General" is also not the right place to ask for this kind of help.
thread closed, the answer you seek is here:
