[Q] Security Error - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys, I recently purchased an LG G2 and pretty much instantly rooted it, however I'm running into some issues. I flashed a custom rom onto it successfully and it booted up fine and ran fine (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2494756). However, when trying to flash a custom kernal onto it (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2472318) I cannot boot and am thrown a Security Error. I have searched online and these forums and did not find anyone else having an issue. I performed a full clean and cache clearing prior to installing and have confirmed that I do have root. Anyone know what's going wrong? :cyclops:

Need help with CWM boot issue

Hey guys. I'm trying to figure out what's going wrong with my Transformer. I'm not experienced with Android development/ROM's so please bare with me.
Rooted my first Android device about a month ago. Made a stupid mistake placing the ROM I was planning to use on the external SD card & didn't backup the install I wiped. Recovered with an official Asus ROM & after about two hours fiddling around I managed to root & load my first ROM (Revolver, whoot!). Very pleased with myself!
Have been using the Revolver ROM for a month without any problems. No deep sleep etc, everything worked perfectly. Using the latest version of Clockworkmod, also no issues so far. Strange thing is that since last monday everytime I (re)boot the device it loads CWM instead of the Android OS. I can get back into Android bij holding volume down during boot & choose to cold boot. Not a big issue but very annoying & can't seem to find the fix.
Searched Google & XDA for a solution. Updated Revolver to 1.3.1 beta, also found the repack by Koush for CWM. Tried fixing permissions, clearing cache, clearing dalvik, wiping & starting over, etc. Everything I tried so far does not fix the CWM-loop I seem to be stuck in.
Would really appreciate some help, I'm probably looking in the wrong direction here. Thanks in advance.
Found something
Finally got out of the CWM loop, found a solution here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1622814&page=2
Strange thing is that after I flashed it with the fix CWM changed to the touch mod I recently installed but never seemed to work. If I understand correctly the fix only deleted the first few lines in the config where the boot in recovery flag should be.
Afterwards I factory wiped the unit & flashed it with a clean ROM. Currently re-installing my apps. I do not have a good feeling on this, tablet seems sluggish last couple of days & I can hear a soft click when the unit reboots. Same sort of click a laptop hdd would make.
Think it's dying on me...

[Solved w/ workaround] Rooted 3G Nexus 7 stuck at boot after 4.3 Jellybean OTA

Hi there,
I have a rooted 3G Nexus 7. I ran the notification to run an OTA update for 4.3 Jellybean, it rebooted into TWRP, and I blindly said yes. Eventually I confirmed TWRP to allow it to fix root permission. I tried rebooting, but I ended up getting stuck at the X screen. Tried a few resets, but that didn't work. I Googled a bit, cleared the cache and the dalvik cache on TWRP, and came across this.
I got lazy, and probably shouldn't have done most of what I had done, so I'd like to know if there is a way to fix this without having to reflash the ROM.
Fix
I got impatient waiting for a response, so I just flashed Cyanogen on it, thinking this would be the most opportune time to try it out hehe. To anyone else who runs into the issue and sees this, I'm 99% sure that you could just flash stock on too, but I wanted to try out a custom ROM.

[Q] Nexus 7 update help

Hi Everyone,
I am currently running android 4.3(JWR66v) I flashed it using fastboot, so it is clean.
After that I rooted it and installed CWM v6.3.6 and BusyBox pro.
That is the only changes I did to my device, everything else is stock.
2 day ago I got a system update notification, looking in the cache folder I found this :
"8b2531d9d9a686c7dcf347513ce8141d59a251c6.signed-nakasi-JWR66Y-from-JWR66V.8b2531d9.zip"
I confirmed the reboot/Install but it failed with the classic (Status 7) I do not understand what is going on ?
Do I need flash my device again with a factory to get the update to install ?
I had the same setup since I bough this device last year and It had no trouble what so ever upgrading before(Unlocked+rooted+CWM)
This is supposed to be a nexus device but it sure doesn't act like one,
Can some one please help ?
Had the same problem going from 4.2.2 to 4.3. Same as you, stock rooted, but had TWRP as my recovery. I did go back to stock recovery, but no go. Ended up doing clean install. However, going from JWR66V to JWR66Y, I had no problem. Took OTA without even having to install stock recovery.
You must not be as stock as you think. My guess is you must have altered something in system that they are checking on. Hope someone with more knowledge is able to help you out because it is a PITA to have to clean install for every update. Good luck.

Unrooted S4 to 5.0 Lollipopm cant connect to wifi at all

Hi I need desperate help
two days ago I went from CM11 to S4I9505 Google Play Edition ROM 5.0.1 and everything was running perfectly. Today I used an app known as "ROM Installer" to flash TWRP easily which it did but I couldnt go back to normal menus and it kept on booting back to Recovery. So I wiped everything and installed the same ROM as it is in my External SD. It was successful but it still would boot to recovery and nothing would work. So I thought my option was to unroot the phone. I used the XDA Unroot/Unbrick guide and used an Android 5.0. Lollipop firmware to flash the stock firmware (second time every using Odin, the first was disastrous and I hated it). I flashed the official stock and it is running but cannot activate WiFi what so ever. It just refuses to toggle. So I reflashed the stock firmware again and it still doesn't work. I was thinking of somehow downgrading to KitKat, use CM Installer which is how I initially rooted the phone and revert to a CWM backup that I made before I flashed the S4 GPE ROM and start over. However I tried using that CM Installer and since im on Lollipop it would refuse to work and I really wanna get back to how everything was before :'( I really dont know what to do (No warranty or anything on this S4) All I can do is make calls and texts. Please help!
fixed!
I've fixed it! Its all back on stock with the all that bloatware and useless features only problem now is whether there is a way to deleted this thread

[Q] Is my G2 dead?

Ive been running CM12 for a long time, but today I noticed I had a few missed calls and my phone hadnt rung. I rebooted the phone and it went into a boot loop. I cleared cache, but still bootlooping, dirty flashed the latest nightlie and then a full wipe - all of which resulted in the boot loop.
I restored my phone using the TOT method, but it would get to the setting up google account/wifi etc and reboot.
I used KDZ to install 30b lollipop ROM this seemed ok until reboot and then it would factory reset, optimise apps every time and be back to the setup screen.
I managed to install KK using KDZ and this seems more stable so used IOROOT and Autorec. I then flashed CM12 and GAPPS again, but it started to boot loop again.
I hadnt done anything to my phone prior to the problems - ie. no new ROMs, kernels or even apps.
Any suggestions or does it sound like something more physically wrong?
I have managed to get Cloudy G2 2.2 working without any problems except it isn't recognising my SIM. Does anyone have any thoughts or is this a dead phone?
