How to install official CyanogenMod for X8
Here is little guide how to install:
1. You must have baseband ending with 015
!!!!! BEFORE CONTINUING TO STEP 2 READ THIS WARNING http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1481630 !!!!!
2. Unlock bootloader ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=17656148 or http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=17378137 )
3. Install FXP Kernel (link to FXP_030 kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=18235841&postcount=1760 ) or nobodyAtall's Kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1350484
4. Install ROM: http://get.cm/?device=shakira
If you are installing it from other ROM replace updater-script with this one from link http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?ez92mhslzi4nxr8 , otherwise you will have Status 7 error
5. Install gapps: http://cmw.22aaf3.com/gapps/gapps-gb-20110828-signed.zip
6. Wipe device (If you are installing it from 2.1 or 2.2 you MUST do full wipe)
If you are loosing data connection after some time you can find fix in my signature

good TuT but my computer wont let me delete updater script so i cant replace it with downloaded version and when i just put the update-script.txt normally in the folder it says file is broken.

I think this rom would be way better then any other custom rom. Am I wrong?

It must be updater-script not updater-script.txt

If you don't need camera and radio (camera only VGA and Radio don't work) this ROM is good, but if you need them install MiniCM7 or another ROM

That's what the download is called that with the. Txt at the end....

I have downloaded it right now and it don't have .txt extension.
Have you tried to delete .txt ?

Stable means that it runs without reboots or crashes. It doesn't mean that it is bugless

very good question, it got released not long ago so im guessing that they are still improving it. thats just my guess

You're so cool! Status 7 error disappeared forever, but his friend Status 6 error appeared. I tried to install it from stock 2.1, GingerDX, MiniCM7, GingerCruzt, kuyaDROID, and i tried both kernels with every rom, but this f***in status 6 error appeared again. I had two options:
1: I can f*** myself with my phone
2: (As I did) Ask you.
What should I do???
I really like the pure stock unmodded CM7 so please help me!!!

Status 6 error means that update.zip is corrupted. I found one missing line in updater-script. If you want try this one. I don't have my phone here so I can test it now. I will look on it tomorrow
EDIT: If you are installing it from Stock 2.1 ROM you don't need to replace updater-script

Overview
So this is guide "how to port roms from huawei u8800pro to u8800 or from u8800 to u8800pro". Both ROMs (base, port) must have same android version. And if you try this guide you'll port ROM for your device with same features! If you have some question or problem please PM me.

Guide
What is base Rom:
The ROM which is Developed For your Mobile.. (like Aurora, CM7,...)
What is Port Rom:
The Rom Which you want to port to your Device... (like frozenpika,...)
1. So take any clean ROM which is running on your device as Base ROM.
2. Extract it Using Winrar.
3. Take the ROM you want to port. This Port ROM. Extract it also using Winrar.
4. Delete app, Framework, Fonts and Media folder in System Folder of Base ROM.
5. Now copy app, Framework, Fonts and Media folder in System Folder from Port rom to base rom system folder.
6. Now open etc folder in both the ROMs folder.
7. In etc folder of base ROM open permissions folder and copy all the permissions files in Port rom to your base ROM folder except platform and handheld_hardware and then open init.d Folder in Base ROM and Delete Every thing except banner and then copy all the files inside init.d folder of port ROM to Base ROM.
8. Now open buid.prop file using Notepad++ and make changes to these of Base Rom as you wish.
ro.build.id=
ro.build.display.id=
ro.build.date=
ro.modversion=
9. In build.prop file change these to same as Port Rom build.prop values.
ro.config.ringtone=
ro.config.notification_sound=
ro.config.alarm_alert=
10. COPY THE set_perm Lines in META-INF/com/google/android/updater-script From Port to Base ROM After Deleting set_perm lines in Base ROM's Updater-Script.
11. Last Step to .zip folders to one
SELECT META-INF, system and boot.img in port folder
Right Click and Select Add to Archive..
Select Zip..
Type the Name.
Click OK..
12. You can simple flash via recovery!

I tried port CM9 for u8800 but now I'm waiting for Blefish's CM10.1. He said (on his twitter) that he'll release first preview next week.

tried to port paranoid android from galaxy s2 to u8800 but it is stuck in bootloop

My own blend

New FW 4.0.2.A.0.79 R800

Never heard of crossbreeder before but I'm wondering the same thing. I see the uninstall.zip (which I assume removes the crossbreeder), but don't see the actual zip file for it

I think its best to stick with the simple 1. The haveged & the move random to urandom. That seems harmless to all.

1) .79 is the newest FW.
2) I don't have knowledge about governers, so I just set the same settings that I read in members' signatures. :cyclops:
3)I don't know how to get my phone supercharged as that thread is very messy and ununderstandable. :crying:

Nope, the Lupus kernel I used is compatible with any GB ROM. (but the bootloader must be unlocked)

hi all, just try this kernel, in its latest version, alpha 7,and I have to say it is phenomenal, good performance and battery duration.I tested with the ultimate hd 4.0, I recommend it to everyone,good job tkymgr.(I have 3.0.8 kernel on my ics...:laugh::good.

I think ICS is fail with ARC ... Use JB Rom

I'll tell you what I did.
1-delete system/etc/init.d folder
2-delete system/lib/modules folder
3-shut down the phone and install kernel with flashtool
5-turn on the phone and hold back button to enter in recovery
6-wipe cache and dalvik cache
7-install wifi modules
8-reboot the phone and wait...

Strange,yes. try installing the rom from scratch with another kernel, and follow the steps I told you, do not forget to uncheck before apply on boot on CPU control.
Im not a magician, I did that and it worked.

Coz if you have an lt15,i think this is the problem

Volume down for recovery not back button. Nothing to do with LT15/18...

Just use hells fusion #50 - will be much easier and there is no extra benefit using merruk
Just flash the kernel zip for hells fusion #50 in CWM with system mounted and in the aroma installer that will load select step 2 to flash hells fusion
Please note that all instructions should be on the op of the threads - please take time to read it

Iv already said - flash the kernel zip in CWM with system mounted then select option 2 from the setup that loads
Note if you loose imei(network signal) you will also need to flash the correct ril file from my ril thread - link in my signature
