For the most part I would say the defaults are plenty, but I added a little bit to my data because I usually pack my device full of apps and wanted to make sure there was enough room.

For me it's not enough, I easily burn through 4 gigs. And touchwiz alone takes up a ton of storage itself. That's why I had to install it over stock.

I read your post about how to install over stock and found it very helpful. I'm wanting to do the same myself with hyperdrive ROM. Only difference is I would like to just install over stock without restoring from another slot. What do I need to wipe, format, or whatever else from the stock slot?
Thanks in advance

Can u make a deBloated version ?
Remove all and every junk Verizon thing ?
Also need the GSM part to work so having the ability to flash the Aussie Radio on it is a must.
I am interested =)
Interested, would like some debloatation of the stock rom maybe kill the google search bar at the top to regain some screen real estate.
Also have the setting turn on for hot spot so those of us with unlimited data can easily go in and mod it. I cant seem to get the setting turned on keeps telling me i need to call Verizon.
And and and lol
reboot & sleep mode back for JB (ie when the power button is pushed) not sure if its easy or not just a wish list.
If nothing else would be happy with just the stuff in the first line. But a fella can dream right.
Good stuff guys I have a bad case of the flu ATM as soon as I'm able to leave this god forsaken bed I'll get started see what I can do

Just throwing this out there... deodexed and zipaligned.
I'm sure anyone who publishes a tweaked rom that is STABLE enough to be a daily driver is good for anyone.
shucks. build it man. ill throw it on my phone for a try.
unlock?
how do u flash it without doing safestrap because i am much more comfortable flashing then safestrapping
If you're on a retail M you don't flash w/o safestrap... Ever. Unless somebody finds an unlock bootloader leak like on the S3 (not gonna happen)

How do I flash DSPManager on the stock ROM? I can't stand not having it and I don't really like any of the custom ROMs.. and I am working with very limited space, so a custom ROM really is t an option for that reason alone. I recall a way to flash things without using recovery, but forgot what program did it..
Hey guys I hope I'm not the only one who doesn't like the percentage mod that goes over the battery. So basically I was wondering if there's anyway to make it like the GSIII and have it to the left of the battery icon. I know its a minor thing but I really appreciate it. Thanks in advance!
Percentage mod? You must be using a custom ROM.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
On gs3 there as an option on stock to show percentages
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
The GS3 bone stock has the % option for the battery. Just try a few different ROMs there are a ton of battery mods built in plus I'm sure you can find a zip file to get this mod as well

Check out this thread. They're supposed to be for PA but I would guess that they may be applicable to any ROM with a theme chooser built in. Since there's no flashing involved there's also no harm in trying these out.
Try this:

I'd like to have both TouchWiz and Google Edition ROMs on my phone and to be able to switch between them when desired. At the moment I'm unsure which one I really prefer, but having to reflash and restore all my apps each time is kind of unrealistic. I'm wondering if there's a way to do this.
Thanks!
Set up each ROM then make nan droid backups of each in trwp and restore when you want to switch.
You could see if Boot Manager (play store) works with your device.
That app looks kick ass. No support for us. I looks like the newest samsung it supports is galaxy nexus. It looks like the wifes phone just became my guinea pig
U can ues up to many roms as u like. As as long u have alot of space in your memory chip. And by uesin any rom. Just restore rom to rom. That u wanna uesss

I've been using Hyperdrive since the first build came out for Note 3 and the thing I like most about it is the battery life. I unplug at between 5 and 7am and by the time I go to bed at night I'm usually still around 75 - 80%. Of course it runs much smoother for me than stock does and I like the customizations that come along with it as well. I tried to flash Beans last night just to check it out but for some reason it wouldn't boot so I just restored my nandroid. I'm planning on flashing Beans when I get a little more time and checking it out but for now I'm extremely pleased with Hyperdrives performance on my device.
Eclipse
Im gonna wait on Nitro and his fabulous eclipse rom, it will be awesome, right now running stock trimmed out.
Try both and see if you like either one better than stock.

Might as well do this. With SafeStrap, you can load up multiple ROMS and switch as your heart desires. Honestly, don't know why phones with unlocked bootloaders don't have a Recovery that allows ROM slots. Seems to make perfect sense so you can load up more than one ROM. Just like partitioning your hard drive and running Windows on one side and Linux on the other. You can chose what you want to use, when you want to. Cant beat it.
But to answer your question, I am running HyperDrive since version 1. Havent really tried Beans. Sure it runs just as good. I am just happy with Hyper right now.
Stock with xposed framework and modules. While i appreciate everything the dev's do, development is not far enough along to leave stock with xposed yet.
Also on stock with too many mods in xposed to count. I seriously can't see any reason to flash a rom. I'm consistently getting up to 2 days uptime and I have all the mods I could ever want.

So i struggled for the longest time why one rom on my phone would play nicer than the other , if they both use the same base.
So I formulated a theory , which can be really wrong , so take it with a grain of salt: Currently I have close to 120 user apps and wanam xposed with multiple customizations. I feel like your set is up is the reason why one rom will be buggy with poor battery life and other will be phenomenal. That is why you will find people swearing with one and hating the other. It is hard to find a perfect rom for all, since android varies tremendously due to its wonderful inherent ability to be customized.
of course you can also argue for coding, build boxes and smali skills.
which goes back to the main point, you need to try it out because compatibility between the developer's build and your set up is key to the perfect rom combination
so dont be startled if you try a rom that others rave about and it sucked on your phone , just move on and vice versa.

I totally agree with you there. My battery life on HyperDrive is ridiculous. I can go almost two days before I need to plug my phone in. I'm very satisfied with HD and don't plan on switching anytime soon. I ended up staying on RLS2 cause my theme was causing my phone to reboot whenever I pressed the lock button after I took the RLS3 update, but overall HD is a very solid ROM and I'm quite content with it.
I just recently flashed the newest hyperdrive update RLS3 On 11/27 I'm having problems on the power menu doesn't show the power off also in the very top next to the clock it shows a lock icon what is it there for and can I remove it

CSC Features are cool because you can enable little features that are for whatever reason turned off by Samsung. Here are some that I have found across the internet.
A.) PLEASE MAKE A BACKUP BEFORE MESSING WITH THIS!! Either make a backup in recovery, or make a backup of your feature.xml by copying the original/unedited to your SD Card.
B.) Download a root browser and grant it root permission.
C.) Go to system/csc/feature.xml
D.) Find the lines that you wanna change, and change it to what I have underlined/bolded. OR some are not in there and you can just add those lines right in (lines that are not in that can just be added will be highlighted in blue). Make sure the new lines are between <FeatureSet> </FeatureSet> . Now it's time for the features that can be enabled:
1. Enable call duration in call log: <CscFeature_Contact_DisableCallDuration>false</ (thanks to @eyecon82)
2. Enable camera shutter sound on/off menu: <CscFeature_Camera_ShutterSoundMenu>true</CscFeature_Camera_ShutterSoundMenu>
3. Add an exit menu to the stock web browser: <CscFeature_Web_AddOptionToTerminate>true</CscFeature_Web_AddOptionToTerminate>
4. Enable infinite scrolling in home screen and app drawer: <CscFeature_Launcher_DisablePageRotation>false</CscFeature_Launcher_DisablePageRotation>
5. Enable scheduled message: <CscFeature_Message_EnableScheduledMessage>true</CscFeature_Message_EnableScheduledMessage>
<CscFeature_Message_EnableScheduledMsgBox>true</CscFeature_Message_EnableScheduledMsgBox>
6. Enable prompt to select recording mode: <CscFeature_Camera_CamcorderEnablePromptPopupToSelectRecMode></CscFeature_Camera_CamcorderEnablePromptPopupToSelectRecMode>
7. Enables Rotation control icon in Gallery: <CscFeature_Gallery_AddAutoRotationIcon>true</CscFeature_Gallery_AddAutoRotationIcon>
8. Stock browser requests Desktop site by default: <CscFeature_Web_EnableDesktopSiteAsDefault>true</CscFeature_Web_EnableDesktopSiteAsDefault>
E.) When done make sure you save the changes, and reboot.
F.) ENJOY!
Gonna be working hard on this tonite peeps to ensure which ones are working and which are not... just gotta get thru stupid work first! -__-
Expect a nice update tonite peeps. PLEASE if you know anything about this stuff, feel free to add on!

Any idea if the radio can be disabled/enabled thru csc features? In Australia, there is not radio on the s5. Not sure whether it's a hardware or software issue, but in others.xml file there is a line for <CscFeature_FMRadio_FrequencySpaceAs>100</CscFeature_FMRadio_FrequencySpaceAs>

I believe with original Touchwiz home, you have to MOD the TouchwizHome.apk to have infinite scroll through pages, as seen in MOD faster touchwiz launcher thread (see Index for easy link). Works from just apk push and no csc mod.
Also, here are the screenshots I promised. Says "null" for feature but my be able to MOD but wonder what it does...
