Is there a way to do this for Nexus 4? - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys I hope I'm not the only one who doesn't like the percentage mod that goes over the battery. So basically I was wondering if there's anyway to make it like the GSIII and have it to the left of the battery icon. I know its a minor thing but I really appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

Percentage mod? You must be using a custom ROM.

On gs3 there as an option on stock to show percentages
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium

The GS3 bone stock has the % option for the battery. Just try a few different ROMs there are a ton of battery mods built in plus I'm sure you can find a zip file to get this mod as well

Check out this thread. They're supposed to be for PA but I would guess that they may be applicable to any ROM with a theme chooser built in. Since there's no flashing involved there's also no harm in trying these out.

Try this:

Best rom for dd?

I currently am running liquidsmooth 3.2. I just found out that the thread for that ROM has been closed as per OP's request. I would like to switch to a different ROM but based on current choices, I don't know which one would be the best for a daily driver in terms of stability and performance. You advice would greatly appreciated.
Carbon rom is made by many off the devs from Liquid
Bionic Rom is pretty stable , basically stock with bionic patches for krait.
Paranoidandroid ROM is the way to go!

Xylon ROM is one of the most stable roms out there. I would say any of the big name roms in the Original development section are pretty stable. Codefire, Xenon, anything else that isn't in beta.
I love Rasbeanjelly and MMuzzy myself.

+1 for PARANOIDANDROID
Basically any rom is good enough for a daily driver on this phone, I know its a Douchy answer but with a nexus its basically your opinion its not like we are using Roms on the next update with major bugs to be worked on lol

If you want something close to stock with some nice additions that add to the ROM I highly recommend MMuzzy. It's stock with the addition of clear all button for recently opened apps, T9 dialer, customizable quick settings, enhanced power menu and the addition to determine between H and H+ speeds. Other than that it is stock. But a good start for a first time ROM.

You know, like in MIUI v5? Is there any ziptheme mod, or does anyone know what do I have to edit to have those icons on the left side of the staus bar?
Thanks in advance.
I also REALLY want this. I'm surprised no one has already made this happen, it seems like a no brainer customisation feature.

Great find
I found something similiar, involved editing xml files after decompiling sytemUI, but for an older Android version, so it didn't work. I will decompile his file and check for differences.
I'm currently working on modifying the systemUI.xml of my PA rom which should work on most AOSP roms. I'm trying to adjust icon dimensions to allow for a larger signal strength icon to simulate the new ios7 dot style signal strength icon. Not that relevant... But while I'm there I'll see if I can't make a simple switch sides mod.
Make a paint image or something or find a screen shot of exactly what you want or what side and such. I don't want to forget icons.

Its basic human nature that they get bored after using the same thing again & again for many days. After a month of usage, I was bored with my S2, then I started trying out new ROMs, I used to change ROMs once every 2 weeks.

Try out different ROMs, try different software tweaks, or different apps from Play Store atleast. Otherwise just find something/someone other than your Nexus 4/10 to remove your boredom......

You can do anything with this app
What you need is to change the way you interact with your device. Remove the nav bar and use pie (learn to use gestures) , nova launcher (and many roms out there) have the option to remove the notificatiom bar. Use dashclock with the extentions as a homescreen widget. Use halo for notifications. Use icon packs to change the way your UI feels, change the wallpaper more often. If you're on google+ take a look at the communities, people are doing some crazy stuff customizations, try to replicate those themes.
Buying the s4 won't solve your problems.

Hey N4 users, how many of you are satisfied with stock 4.3?
I used to flash ROMs but I typically just stay on stock 4.3 now. I use a quick settings mod to add more tiles and an extended power menu mod to get reboot options. Other than that stock is all I need.

I use an app called fullscreen, and stock rom is fine after a few personalisation tweaks (playing with MUIU theme icons currently). Oh yeah..Pie Control App, Power Toggles, etc...apps really can extend usefulness like roms do, just have to hunt for them.
I need the long press navbar action, and better toggles.
Instead of flashing different mod a custom Rom is much easier.
Not for me. I like the extras, changes under the hood, ect the custom ROMs bring.

Yes. I've run stock on my phones since the Galaxy Nexus was released. I don't have the desire to do the custom ROM song and dance when stock does everything I want it to do.

I'm very satisfied with stock! The only issue is I wish with the default launcher you could change the pages, that's my only complaint... I wish I didn't have to use apex on top of default...

Generally speaking I would say yes, stock is great, but there are aspects to using something like Paranoid Android (lubz me some PIE) as well as CyanogenMod (volume rockers to change songs is something I simply cannot live without these days), so generally I will use a device for a period of time when it's new to my ownership stock, then do the research and find a custom ROM to try out, then another if needed, then tweaks (custom kernels, undervolting, etc).
Same old same old as everyone else for the most part I suppose.
i had mine for 9 months before i decided to try a custom ROM...

Beans ROM, Hyperdrive, ButterBoost, or Stock.

I've tried all three and really can't decide which one I like the most. Which on are you using and why?
Sent from my Beans Powered N3 using xda app-developers app
I've been using Hyperdrive since the first build came out for Note 3 and the thing I like most about it is the battery life. I unplug at between 5 and 7am and by the time I go to bed at night I'm usually still around 75 - 80%. Of course it runs much smoother for me than stock does and I like the customizations that come along with it as well. I tried to flash Beans last night just to check it out but for some reason it wouldn't boot so I just restored my nandroid. I'm planning on flashing Beans when I get a little more time and checking it out but for now I'm extremely pleased with Hyperdrives performance on my device.
Eclipse
Im gonna wait on Nitro and his fabulous eclipse rom, it will be awesome, right now running stock trimmed out.
Try both and see if you like either one better than stock.

Might as well do this. With SafeStrap, you can load up multiple ROMS and switch as your heart desires. Honestly, don't know why phones with unlocked bootloaders don't have a Recovery that allows ROM slots. Seems to make perfect sense so you can load up more than one ROM. Just like partitioning your hard drive and running Windows on one side and Linux on the other. You can chose what you want to use, when you want to. Cant beat it.
But to answer your question, I am running HyperDrive since version 1. Havent really tried Beans. Sure it runs just as good. I am just happy with Hyper right now.
Stock with xposed framework and modules. While i appreciate everything the dev's do, development is not far enough along to leave stock with xposed yet.
Also on stock with too many mods in xposed to count. I seriously can't see any reason to flash a rom. I'm consistently getting up to 2 days uptime and I have all the mods I could ever want.

So i struggled for the longest time why one rom on my phone would play nicer than the other , if they both use the same base.
So I formulated a theory , which can be really wrong , so take it with a grain of salt: Currently I have close to 120 user apps and wanam xposed with multiple customizations. I feel like your set is up is the reason why one rom will be buggy with poor battery life and other will be phenomenal. That is why you will find people swearing with one and hating the other. It is hard to find a perfect rom for all, since android varies tremendously due to its wonderful inherent ability to be customized.
of course you can also argue for coding, build boxes and smali skills.
which goes back to the main point, you need to try it out because compatibility between the developer's build and your set up is key to the perfect rom combination
so dont be startled if you try a rom that others rave about and it sucked on your phone , just move on and vice versa.

I totally agree with you there. My battery life on HyperDrive is ridiculous. I can go almost two days before I need to plug my phone in. I'm very satisfied with HD and don't plan on switching anytime soon. I ended up staying on RLS2 cause my theme was causing my phone to reboot whenever I pressed the lock button after I took the RLS3 update, but overall HD is a very solid ROM and I'm quite content with it.
I just recently flashed the newest hyperdrive update RLS3 On 11/27 I'm having problems on the power menu doesn't show the power off also in the very top next to the clock it shows a lock icon what is it there for and can I remove it
