My lg g2 started to reboot randomly and got stuck in bootloop. After several restarts I got it working again. I did a full firmware recovery last night through lg pc suite. It happened again today. My GPS and Bluetooth is always on cuz I use them regularly. Any advice pls

I bet you are using either the Lockscreen Gmail widget or the Launcher Gmail Widget...
That's a known bug on LG G2!
Stop using it and you will run stable again!
Let us know...
Cheers!

I don't know if it's just me, but whenever I clear the data of an app, or delete it, it takes about 2~3 minutes to get the work done.
is this normal?
if it's not, does anyone have any idea what might be causing this?
I don't think i had this problem in the past....
thx in advance
anyone? bahh:crying:

only other root-related app that i have installed is xposed.
this is so annoying.

What comes to my mind is io problems. Try lagfix: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.grilledmonkey.lagfix&hl=fi
on the latest d802 4.4.2 custom roms and kernels i get a lot of freezes.
it will freeze in the middle of an animation and will take some seconds up to some minutes and then working normal again.
sometimes i have to hard-reboot to get out of freeze / lag.
on older 4.4.2 slimroms i never had this behavior, only since some weeks with new roms / kernels.
i`ve tried every rom / kernel combo but sooner or later i will get a freeze again.
could a revert to stock and re-rooting / flashing custom rom maybe a solution? i`m afraid to do this because of the long time to backup my 32gb data.
what are your experiences with the latest 4.4.2 roms and kernels? did you find a solution for this with any combo or fixes?
help would be appreciated.
push! no one else with same problems? maybe i got a hardware defect?

The only thing I can say is I own the VS980 version of the device and i've tried every single 4.4 rom offered on this sight and have the same issue with all. Most of the time i'm using the device and it freezes, sometimes reboots, and sometimes comes out of it after a few minutes. Also not being able to wake the device only seeing a black screen and forced to hard reboot device. 4.3 seems to be a much better with these issues but not completely solved for me. I'm hoping the release of 4.4 source from lg will fix these issues but i'm unsure. So at least your not alone in these problems lol. I've tried multiple kernels and governors etc. Bumping up the min freq on the cpu seems to help and changing to interactive governor but doesn't eliminate the issue just help. I thought my next move would be to use lg flash tool and update to latest firmware reroot and install cwm.

i think i will do the same today after work. hopefully this helps.
the better option would be to stay some days on stock rom to ensure there is no hardware defect. but i can`t stand stock so this would be a hard route! ^_^

Yea unfortunately it seems very common among these devices so i'm pretty confident it's a software issue although i'm not 100% sure of that. I ran a flex rom for a few days on 4.2.2 and didn't have any of the same issues.
added a poll as a matter of interest.
omni-ROM, Mokee rom, vanir rom etc.freezing problem still continues.
Using CM11 (4.4.2) for 5 days with zero freezes so far.. note that this is on D800, not 802.

Yes, stock cm kernel.
I'm thinking back now and it did freeze once when first signing into the Google account immediately after flashing the ROM, but nothing after that. So.. nearly spotless
Nice! Maybe they are getting the issues ironed out. Haven't been on cm11 for a week or so since it was the worst with freezes for me. I'll have to give it another shot.

Best of luck! To be specific, I'm using the snapshot release of cm11... still don't trust the nightly releases
i did a lg flash tool stock restore, factory reset and OTA updates. now the freezes did not come back until now *knock on wood*.
when i did a backup of the sd there was one corrupt media file which was not able to transfer.
maybe the media scanner did go crazy and was the reason for the freezes.
using cm11 m3 on my d802... very little freezes compared to previous nightlies, fingers crossed
Lately my phone has been randomly rebooting like crazy. At least once a day. I can't remember when this started exactly and there doesn't appear to be any particular reason. I'll just be doing something and all at once it will freeze and then reboot. Is there any app or way to determine why this is happening? It's driving me nuts. I know it's only once a day and it only takes like 45 secs to reboot. But I don't know why it's happening...

You could install SysLog from the Play Store and run it after each reboot. That will capture the dmsg and last_kmsg, as well as the modem log and something else. You can easily email that to the ROM dev and maybe he can help you sort it out.
You could also try freezing all non stock apps with titanium backup. Then unfreeze them only as you need one at a time, then to try to troubleshoot if its an app.

Thanks. I will keep that in mind. This is crazy. I am looking at some exposed stuff to and maybe an app I installed about two weeks ago that is supposed of reboot my phone once daily. Maybe it's gone haywire..... I forgot about it honestly. I am not sure if there is a connection but I will test that too....

Hello XDA forum members,
I'm back to the roots (last time here I was playing with my HTC Hero and updating my ROM to 1.6.... God, how time flies).
I've been a happy user of LG G2 for almost 2 years now, contemplating a new phone. I decided not to change the stock rom LG provided so I was absent from the forum for a long time (well - there was a flirt with iPhone 4 in the meantime). Saddly tonight my LG decided to die on me. I was not doing anything special (checking facebook) when it stopped reacting and then went dead. I can't turn it on (recovery doesn't turn on as well).
The phone should still be under warranty so I am not that much worried but I have not backed up my photos in a long time (not to mention some games but I guess this will actually make my wife rather happy - no point going back to them when I have to start over). I am wondering if there is a method to recover the photos? Since it's G2 we are talking about lack of SD Card
Any tips would be welcome (both on how to restore the phone if possible and how to get the photos).
The phone is not 100% dead - every once in a while the LG logo will show up but after a brief moment it disappears. Not sure if this is helpful information.
Does it have custom recovery? If not, bye bye everything!

If you have twrp, you could mount data partition from there and save all you need.... Bad luck.

Installed clean 13A and done rooting my vs995 with dirtysanta. Now, is there any advice to get a more stable rooted device ? Flashing Kernels...etc ?
If any kernal was flashed, would it be replaced with stock kernal after flashing a stock KDZ file ? "Does the official KDZ file have a kernal that will replace customs flashed kernals ?"
Note: My vs995 still vibrates Everytime it boots up and it lags sometimes due to CPU high usage especially with stock camera app and Firefox. Also, Official YouTube app plays only sound shows no video. LG green screen of death has been encountered many times.

Dose it lag when the lg camera app switch to portrait mode? It should be very fast when switching back and forth...
Did you remove the thing using rcdt?
I am using wetarom and i can say is very fast and battery efficient. Everything load almost instantly using the blue_active governor

No. Didn't use RCDT remover yet. I will remove the LG root checker with RCDT and report back.

Tried to remove the RCDT and failed. Everytime I try to patch the image and flash it again and then rebooted to the app, it shows RCTD "Currently Running"
Only Triton was successfully removed. CCMD left unchecked due to possibility of bootloop.
Try using a stock rom from a different model by flashing with lgup mod version
