Hello World! Just had a question to which sound MOD was best? And works to make a difference? VIPER4ANDROID, ACID AUDIO, OR PURE AUDIO? Thanks so much.

Hi,
Best for what??? Quality? Loudness? Bass?
Sound is a very, very, very subjective thing and it varies for one person to another.
How we can tell you what is the best audio mod for you
You need to try them and find the best that suits your need...
There is no such thing called "best ....."
Just make a nandroid and test for yourself

Try DSP MANAGER
Sent from my X8 using XDA App
YAA..... something that can increase ringtone volume specially!!!as i dont want to miss any of my calls!!!
search before you make a thread.
useless thread.
there're many sound program to enhance the sound.
the standard one is DSP manager
So lately I've been alternating a lot between Gingerbread with Sense and Ics with AOKP. Apart from the obvious performance ICS has over GB&Sense, the Sense builds excel in one thing and that's music sound quality. It's not even the Beats audio thing because even in builds with no Beats, the sound quality in Sense builds is SO much better, it's really annoying to use ICS. The music isn't just bass-less, but even high tones sound crackled and bad under the same speakers/headphones they sound REALLY good at on Sense builds.
What causes this? Could this be the infamous Bravia engine I've seen touted about on the forum?
If so, is it portable to ICS?
If not, is there any solution for the poor music quality under ICS?

I've notice the same thing. with Ics rom when its loud sounds like the music its damaged. With GB plays great

This is true.
Now Im using ICS ROM. Playing music with PowerAmp and the quality is great. Player has many settings to improve the music quality.
you also could try flashing beats audio from the android market.

Tried flashing Beats Audio, never could get it to work.
As for the other replies - are you guys suggesting this is the player app's fault rather than the actual kernel?

For me dsp manager with some settings(i don't remember, i'm on sense 3.5) works fine but i agree with you that sense roms are the best in audio (loud and great bass)
I decided to start this thread just because there is one think that is very important for me. It is music quality. As I noticed, there are some differences in audio quality between ROMs. For example for me CM9 plays much worse than stock ICS (both tested on Poweramp player).
Do you have any suggestions which ROM for Galaxy S2 has the best music quality? Or maybe you have some nice configuration for SGS2 that sounds better than others?
What a pity that Samsung built a Yamaha sound chip in this phone. That one made by Wolfson which is installed in SGS, SGS3 and iPhone's is much better...
Want better sound quality on cm9 and cm10

I'll try when I flash CM9. After doing it, is it better than on the stock ROM?

I've noticed that the volume on a lot of stock ROMs is low, the quality differs per Rom.
But with a custom ROM like CM9 there are a lot of ways to change it to your likings, e.g. adjusting the music volume. And use mp3's of reasonable quality. Setting high volume on low bitrate mp3's sounds like crap...
So just perform a nandroid backup and try flashing a CM9 or CM10 ROM. Can't hurt to try...

It's a question that I never think about. But just curious,is there any obvious difference between different ROMs in the same specifications?

How does sabsa prime compare to icecoldsandwich? Is there a big difference? I like icecoldsandwich but i also value audio quality so i would probably switch if there was a big difference.

I really like the sound on sabsa bliss after running the snd3254 command to set the dspmode to SRS_A_HP or SRS_V_HP.

Super galaxy is pretty good too. It has the best call quality for sure.
For music player, I would recommend ViperDHD v1.1.0 as it brings you the best sound experience with stock headphone with many sound effects for your choice.

Here you go. I take no credit for it. I found it somewhere else on this forum, but can't find the link right now. You have to be rooted. Also make a Nandroid backup before flashing. Do it at your own risk, if anything goes wrong, it's not my fault. Make a backup of the file "snd_soc_msm_Taiko_CDP" located in /system/etc/snd_soc_msm/ somewhere on your sd card in case the stock volume zip doesn't restore the correct file later.
I tried the moderate volume, and it worked great. I would do the loud one, it might be too loud.
Good luck

Check out the app Viper4Android. Not only will it make your volumes louder, it also has a great EQ which will make everything sound much better.

+1 for Viper4Android or beat music player's built in equalizer is better sounding bass in my opinion if it's just music that you care about
Note 2 Dual sim N9002
Hello All,
I used this moderate.zip on N9002 worked well however it crashes the sound on the sim in slot 2 thus no sound and microphone. The restore will not work and you will have to install backup..
Please be careful. I hope we can fix the problem as the patch definitely increase the volume on everything else.
