I 've a little problem, at the end of the day Android OS is everytime over 20% and it seems that it's really a battery drain from there ..What can cause Android OS battery drain ?
And by the way i installed the GEL apk, until then i've Google search (low power consumption) in Location settings .. How to get this off totally please ?

after a clean install of 4.4.3 i have experienced extreme battery drain from google services. the drain was so big that was more than the screen!!.
i don't know why this happened, but i had google now dissabled (from google now option not freezed, and everything else dissabled) BUT i had enabled location. It was eating away my battery like crazy. the same settings in 4.4.2 was not battery hungry at all.
I solved the problem by removing the permission of network based location on google search (i used android tuner but you can propably do it with appOps).
i know that 4.4.2 and 4.4.3 have no major differences but does anyone else experienced this? Is there any other way to stop the battery drain?
Hey guys. First proper charge from around 3% too 100% and I'm getting battery drain already, I thought this issue was resolved in lollipop? Not the mention the emense heat that comes off of this device
Check out the picture and get back to me. Thanks.
Jack
Same thing is happening to me... I don't find that the drain is really so bad, as I still get pretty great battery life, but does appear that this issue is still present in lollipop. Seems pretty wide spread among Android users.
I had an iphone for about 5 months. Went back to android and the problem still persists I got 3.5 hours of screen on time yesterday. Take a look at this
Also getting battery drain, the main offender seems to be the "mobile standby" which is always around 50-65% for me.

I think this was an error in reporting in the stock firmware, I haven't had a problem with the battery, in fact it's been really good. Since updating to B132 (GRA-L09) the battery usage seems to be reported correctly.
Interesting, I'm not sure what the normal drain should be then. My HTC One had a pretty good battery life, but it seems with this phone the battery drains quite fast when I'm using Chrome and WhatsApp etc. The power saver reports Chrome uses a max of around 10% but the rest use very little %, yet it seems I'm using around 30-40% of the battery in around half an hour.
Do you think using a custom rom (when they become available) would be any different?
Not sure if a custom rom would help. Are you rooted? If so you should have a look at betterbatterystats which should show you what's using up the battery.
When I'm mostly on wifi I can get 5 hours of screen time with 32+ hours running time.
i have the same problem with the "mobile standby" batery drain
i did a clear data/cache then factory reset, and now it's ok
androyd system still drain batery pretty much
sorry for my bad english

Was going to wait for a few roms to be released before rooting, but the battery life seems so poor I think I'll do it just to find out.
I've had the same Problem with the battery drain and analysed this with the Wakelock Detektor (needs root). Cause was the "NlpWakeLock" thats part of the Google Services. Then I disable the Google Location History everything went well. They are a lot of of useres, who have the same problem. The only real solution (If you want to use the Location history) is a Xposed module for that you need a working Xposed framework.
I have now disabled Google location history, hopefully this fixes the problem for me too.

Is it Normal for android system to be the number one battery drain on OOS marshmallow. I've tried a factory reset. Amplify with xposed but it's still number 1 battery drain .
Bumping, the same problem here
I see yo uare palying a lot of games, correctly to say Pokemon go which use LTE + GPS and sensors. LTE + GPS and sensor are part of Android system. The MM android show all drain even of OS and system. If you would be at lolli or lower release these system drain would be not showed. The Android system its done while your phone is active so its mean some part of the Phone it self is used and draining battery.

Thats to much even for AS. If your phone is inactive as in deep sleep and AS still draining something is wrong. I suggest u perform factory reset or try to check phone for a possible wakelock. Could be an app or a sensor(mostly finger print) that ia causing it.
Hello, as you saw in the title of the thread, my Nokia 6's TA-1033 SS that is Rooted on Android 7.1.2 battery is draining very fast, and the cause of that draining is "Screen", my luminosity is at 45-40%, my standby time is only at 1 min., and the most strange thing is that Android System says that i only have approximatively 6h left before my battery goes to 0% but my battery is at 92%, and it's still draining now for no reason while i'm writing this. I searched the cause of this drain but couldn't find it, i'm using Greenify but nothing changes. Maybe I need to unroot my phone and upgrade to Android Oreo ? I don't know, if some of you Nokia 6 users have already faced this problem and solved it, please help me, it's really annoying. Thanks.
