Tried that, not working
There probably won't be one. Loki has been patched, and looks to be permanent. Even DrJbliss said he doesn't think its possible now with the way they patched.
Its pretty safe to say the only way to get a recovery again will be to roll back.

That is not 100% accurate. I have the sprint version and can confirm that it IS possible to have TWRP on this phone with the latest kitkat firmware (4.4.2), the only problem is it breaks download mode, but there is a way to get it back as well and the devs are working on getting them both working at the same time. Additionally, I realize that the OP does not have a Sprint model phone, but if it is possible on one carrier, I would not say it's impossible on another carrier so there is hope.

I have no reason to lie, but you can check out this thread to see it for yourself. I have done this myself and can confirm that I had TWRP working with kitkat on my Sprint LG G2 variant phone. I have since went back to stock rooted because I did not like not having download mode, but as I said it has been done (for the Sprint variant atleast) so there is hope.
BTW. It should go without saying that you should NOT try this method unless you have the Sprint variant of the G2 as it will definitely not work with other carriers and will more than likely hard brick your device and even if you do have a Sprint variant make sure to read the instructions carefully and fully understand what you are doing before doing anything. You have been warned / advised.
Additionally, I am not a dev and I did not come up with or take any credit for this or any other guide. I am simply passing the information along.

it's not we can't get recovery on kk, there are work arounds, but everyone who asks just wants a way to do it without going through all the trouble of downgrading

I was under the impression that the OP wants to take the OTA, root and flash TWRP. That isn't possible. That part I'm 100% correct on. But the method you linked to for Sprint is available for all other variants I've seen so far, similar anyway. Including VZW. That's why I said roll back, you have to be on the Jelly Bean bootloader.
What's that mean? I cant get TWRP on my d802?
no more custom roms? Is that true or what guys, i mean I'm waiting for a loki to solve the problem and cant go back to stock any more i cant find my rom wich is d80220a, so what, no more hope?! please dont tell me that!!!

There is no trouble downgrading. I have windows 8 and I used Method 2. from this thread: THREAD. OP says that there are problems with win 8. Only thing I "shat brix" is because I didn't installed drivers provided there :crying: Still, I had 4.4.2. and now I have 4.2.2. Tonight, after Champions League, I will install custom recovery and other stuff :victory:

Thank you so much! at least this will take care of all the constant questioning. I hope there will be a way to get a custom recovery on it soon because I am starting to regret getting the LG G2 instead of the Nexus 5. Ugh
Hello there, I am just wondering what region my newly purchased LG G2 from ebay (it was sent from hong kong) It's the red 32GB edition and it has MAS on the box - so I presume Malaysia?
I'm very tempted to experiment with custom roms as I hate the LG interface. Is it possible to restore the phone into such a state where LG wont know that I installed anything if I've to send it in for service . Does the phone have any sort of flash counter, etc that samsung phones have?
Thanks

Thanks once again. I'm having a look through the page and it appears the region field is blank. The reason I'm asking this is just incase I have to return everything to stock incase I have to return it to LG service ( I flashed a EU rom and I forgot to make backup) or will LG just not care provided that it's an official rom on the phone ? Thanks.
Edit: I can't post links, but the attachment is what information I'm being displayed

Even if you can't find region on page(doesn't mention it) the file it provides is always model specific and for d802, region specific so you can use that kdz provided to return to complete stock for your specific device

Thanks for your help guys, much appreciated. I reverted back to the Hong kong rom One question: When I was flashing my phone firmware back, on the phone it said my phone was rooted, even though I never touched anything like that before. I flashed the phone again and it said that it wasn't rooted on the flash screen.
I just checked the status now by going into the firmware update screen and it's now saying rooted. I'm not on the one directly installed now but rather the initial kit kat update (for personal preferences)
http://storagecow.eu/Xda/LG G2/Stock/Hong Kong D802/HK KitKat 32GB D80220A_00.kdz
Is it normal to do this? Again, I'm not rooted nor have ever tried rooting my phone.
Hmm... I tried flashing the firmware that's provided by the LG and the firmware flash page now displays at "unrooted" . I would prefer to use the kit kat without the knock on update. Is this possible without it displaying as rooted? This is strange
Hi all, I'm selling/trading my g2 which I rooted using iwo root so that I could change colours/status bar etc, I've just done a factory reset but when turning back on it popped with team win recovery project jargon like an old computer which doesn't look 'standard' is there a way I can remove this?
Please help a non techy guy!

Best way would be to use the LG flash tool and kdz back to stock. It will wipe/replace all partitions with stock files and your phone will be restored like when you first pulled it out of the box.

Make sure you download the proper file for your phone (model number/android version). If you don't know what android version you're on, go to settings/about phone and look at android version. Then download proper file.

Ok thank you, my phone is on O2 but I believe it is also unlocked as both a Vodafone and EE sim card work in it, so do I download the:

Or

It's just I'm afraid of bricking my phone! And I'm not that clued up on this stuff, do I follow the Rom kdz method or the one below that?

That I'm not sure of as I have a different variant. You might want to ask in the d802 Q&A thread. Just post links to both those files and I'm sure someone with the same phone will be able to identify what file to use. Good luck!
I'll be quick so no ones time is wasted and a viable solution can be found fast.
I bought a D802 from a third-party, with:
- 32GB ROM
- 4.4.2 D80220b firmware
- 2G, 3G, 4G working
- The csmg.lgmobile.com website said that according to my IMEI, my model is the UAE 32GB D802 and gave me the D80230a firmware for manual flash via LG Flash tool. (screenshot below)
I used the phone for a while, rooted it and used Xposed. Never got recovery so no backup(wish I'd seen the SRK tool before). Then I downloaded the firmware from the csmg.lgmobile.com website. I flashed it via the Flash tool and everything seemed fine. Then it booted:
- Touchscreen was erratic. Ghost touches, dead spots, phantom touches, whatever.
- The Baseband Version and IMEI in About Phone both say Unknown
- ROM has converted to a 16GB version
- Download mode is fine along with every other feature of the phone
After that I looked around and found a UAE D80220c firmware and flashed that. It flashed fine but all the above issues remained the same.
I browsed around extensively here and found out:
- Refurbished phones have their back cover and firmware changed to imitate D802's.
- My phone is probably some other G2 model with D802 firmware and an altered IMEI
- The actual model of my device is UNDER the motherboard. Which, apparently, I must get hold of so I can flash the appropriate stock kdz. This gets a bit too hardware-y for me.
So, basically, my phone is no more useful than a brick at the moment. Any expert help would be appreciated but here are the main questions that I'd really like answered:
A. Should I try various flashing the kdz files from different models mentioned in the link I gave up ^there until one clicks and then try to do something about the IMEI?
B. Is there any chance that my phone is beyond repair forever?
C. Should I stop messing around with my mediocre knowledge and take it to a repair shop?
I really can't afford to lose this phone so please, if you've stumbled upon this, try to help or forward it to someone who CAN help. I will be very thankful.
Cannot really help you. But look for Frankenphone. There's a thread here.
I would return the phone. That's fraud.
Go by this method.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/help/issues-refurb-d802-32gb-lg-flashed-t3034823
B. I doubt it's beyond repair, it will just take you time and work to figure out what is what and how to get it back to working state. I think everything you need can be found already here, I saw a lot of posts with the similar problems and really hard bricks being solved. Just be patient and good luck.

Possible refurbished G2 D802
Guys i bought an LG G2 D802 from a third party. i tried to install TWRP using AUTOREC for D802. My phone went into a bootloop. Luckily i had made a backup with SRK tool, so my G2 is up and running. I think my phone is refurbished because i have seen other G2's with D802 backcovers in that market but their IMEI no. was D800. My IMEI no. , backcover and software all say D802. I Dont want to open up my phone because it is confusing for me because i know there will be 2 to 3 model no.s written inside it. My question is can i find out my model no. by installing all autorec recoveries for g2 on my phone after making backup on SRK Tool. When i get the TWRP recovery on my phone i will know which model my phone is. Plz people who are expert of SRK tool help me...
Also will my Imei no. stay safe if i backup from srk tool.
Reading up on some things, Maybe I could flash it back to stock using LGUP (Not sure if i can do that without usb debugging and dev settings) and hopefully use dirtycow? I have no idea
Phone: LGV20 H918
Android ver: 7
Security Patch, May 2017
If you have any questions feel free to let me know, thanks!

Depends on the model. I've heard H910 doesn't have a kdz. If you can find a kdz for the phone, you can use LGUP or something else I've heard called UPPERCUT, which is the same as LGUP but better in some ways... I haven't done any flashing, especially since just unlocking the bootloader on my model is nearly rocket science.

This is the closest i've found so far. https://build.nethunter.com/misc/h918/v10d/
