Hello, I would like to buy a smart watch for my phone. My first requorement is that I want silent my phone with it. In class I usually find it troublesome to make it silent. Second I want to check my Facebook notification and see who is calling, accept or reject calls. Which smart watch would allow this?
Sony smartwatch 2 will do as I know

X2, I have the motoactv, metawatch, and Sony smartwatch 2.
They will all do what you want but the smartwatch 2 has been the most minimal cost/headache. I did have to get a paid app to get my sms working but now that I've hammered out the issues I'm pretty happy.
The downside is the smartwatch 2, is the hardest and most non-hackable watch out right now.
I use my smartwatch 2 to monitor my phone, switch, ringer/vibrate/silent, turn Bluetooth/Wifi on and off, and notifications.
You could wait a little longer as the google/apple/qualicom watches should be announced or out very soon.

May also want to keep an eye on the SmartQ Z Watch.
I have smartq z watch for 4 days, I like that it can get ALLLL the notifications if you wanted, from every app on your phone, .. it basically takes everything comes to your notification bar in your android device and show it in your smartwatch, and by anything I mean ANYTHING! FB, Whatsapp, BBM,SMS, Hangouts ... etc you dont need special app to get notifications.
If there are more than one notification of same app, they will be grouped, you will get like "2 Whatsapp messages" instead of the content, .. but thats how android notification bar works by default you have to expand to see more info, wish you could expand content from watch, Also, just like normal android notifications in your phone, if you dismissed the notifications in your watch after seeing them you will not be able to retrieve it from watch
You can decide what apps you want push notifications for. there is a list of userapps and system apps in the sync app you tick / untick apps that you want to push the notification
I find that having bluetooth headset connected to your phone + z watch connected to your phone is ideal.
when a call comes, the caller id and picture appears in your watch, and you can answer and reject, .. if you answer you can directly use your bluetooth headset to talk and receive voice without even lifting your phone
The watch also has 3.5 headphone jack and a microphone, .. so technically you can do calling **** tracy style lol, .. but if you have a bluetooth headset it would be a lot more ideal IMO.
for SMS you can reply using pre-defined templates (you can customize those from the sync app)
seems smartq z watch is a good choice.

By theory it should. Since its an android device running 4.3. So its not device specific most probably.

Anyone using it? how is it? worth the money ? and what it does? please share
Yep, I'm using it. It's quite useful. I've set it up to turn on silent mode when I reach work geographical area using the network to determine location(not GPS). I've also set it up to turn off notification tone at night, but keep the phone ringer on for emergency incoming calls. I've set it up to automatically set max brightness and volume when opening the Youtube app.
There are some limitations since we're running Android 1.6... it seems bluetooth detection support is for 2.1+, so I couldn't set it up to automatically read me SMS messages when it connects to bluetooth in the car for example.
Overall, a great app with tons of potential. However, we're limited by our Android 1.6 at the moment to use all the features of Tasker. Another thing is it seems the author of Tasker hasn't really updated the app in a month or so... but he does have a page up that shows what features he's planning to work on next.
can this app saves u battery?
i am using it and i can say that it is a great app worth buying
i use it for
-to provide notification & LED when battery falls below 25%
-to automatically switch on wifi GPs etc with app context
-custom menu when headphones plugged in
-etc
as mentioned by pally777 in above post "a great app with tons of potential".
BTW the new 1.09 beta has location tracking using CELLID
i'm not sure if this is the right forum to post in,
but i wish a dev could help me since i'm just 13 years old that doesn't understand anything in java android development
so;
This is notifyled.apk from motorola fire xt311/xt316/xt317/xt530/xt531/xt532, all these models have the same method and led flash ligh above the screen, and all of them have the exact same notifyled.apk [check attachments]
the problem is: the application sends orders to the notification led only to light up it's blue color only when the owner of one of these phones recive an SMS/ missed call or when the battery low
AND doesn't light up the led whenever i recieve a notification from any third party like whatsapp, any im app, xda premium.. etc.
the request: can any body mod it or teach me the general rule of adding the applications to the .SMALIs inside the apk so it sends orders when i recieve msg on whatsapp fpr example ?
i really wish someone could reply.
thanks.

It's an interesting little app, I had a look and it actually uses a 3rd party receiver for missed call and missed message so it can in theory support other apps but I suspect those apps will have to support NotifyLed as well.
Can you post the SMS/MMS and Phone apps from the same rom? They probably have logic in them to call this app, I'd need to look at them.
Also, can you post screen shots of the LedNotify app since I can't test? Especially any screen with this text on it:
Code:
3rd Party Apps: ID(something will be in here)
No promises but since you're 13 I thought I'd have a look...

Thanks for your reply,
Here's the mms.apk
the notifyled doesn't have a gui, not even an icon in the appdrawer and it's apk has even no strings except for the app name and hello world !
Btw, sorry, i'm 14* lol.

Okay, so as I suspected the app that generates the notification must tell lednotify to blink or stop blinking, lednotify doesn't "watch" the other apps.
This means that it is possible to get lednotify to work with other apps (just like it does for phone and MMS) but those apps will need to change to talk to lednotify, not the other way around.
This makes it quite a difficult proposition unless the app devs wish to support it. It's not difficult to do by the looks of things but it would require code changes to all of the required apps.
Okay thanks i understood now
I'll have a look at the other apps like whatsapp or even email the dev
It's strange that app like whatsapp have led option but doesn't blink whill mms.apk doesn't have led option in notification settings but blinks! The same as phone.apk
Thanks anyway .

Hi folks,
I just registered here but I have been lurking in this forum for a few months now. ( I laughed hard at the terms and conditions video btw)
Anyway, I just got myself a new i9500.
One quick question, I find that the airview works perfectly well on the gallery, calendar, and when viewing videos. However, when I'm trying to hover messages in the default messaging app (i'm using chomp sms by the way) I find that it doesnt work on all conversations. I mean, it would only show previews for some specific conversations. Also in the default music player, when I browse for music in folder view, I find that airview doesnt work on the very top folder. Everything else, I can get a preview on.
I've tried restarting the phone, turning off and on air gesture and everything, but its still the same. To me, it looks like a software issue. Has someone observed the same thing in their phones?
Thanks!
you will only be able to use air view when the message lenth is bigger small messages which is seen completly without hovering wont be using airview feature hope that helps

you said you are on default, but then say you are using chomp? im confused.
so does air view work on chomp sms??
Sorry, I got you confused there. I meant I'm now using chomp sms. Anyway I figured it out now, it will only work when the text message is actually longer than what the screen can display.
Got an S4 today started playing with it and am really getting annoyed... I come from a long line of HTC devices and have never been this disgusted with a phone. All the cool bells and whistles are nice but I bought a phone to call people.. this phone takes way too many steps just to make a call. Where is the contact widget to simplify this to one touch. I have tried every contact widget on the market and either they dont work with touchwiz, have low res pictures, or they are really small icons. I know there is a small dialer app available on the phone but I dont want 8 individual little pictures of my contacts. I have tried Nova Launcher and it has what I am looking for but it has low res pictures. Also the contact app wont save my groups right I put 8 people in my favorite but if I try to use it in a contact widget it only shows 2 or 4 not the whole 8 that I put in it,,,,,,,
Ok now that I have vented I will ask the questions that I need.
1. Is there a contact widget like the one available in easy mode but high res (or better yet the one like htc sense one).
2. Why does the contact app keep forgetting who I put in a group.
3. When I link two contacts why does it not use the facebook picture as the contact picture on all contacts.
4. I want to keep this phone stock because I dont want to root it till I know I am going to keep it so don't suggest I root and go custom rom.
Thanks for any help.
Have you tried simple contact widget? It does a single 2x2 widget

Looks like it would do what I want it to so I downloaded it and put it on a screen and it just says "no Contacts....initializing" for the past 10 minutes.
Finally got one to work while I was looking for the one you told me about. It is DW contacts it works great.
Looks like Moto Assist was just updated in the Play store - I believe have read about various little bugs related to kit kat and/or the google hangouts sms feature, hopefully this update takes care of those issues.
So am I imagining this, or did the "Resume Music Play" feature while driving sneak in the "over bluetooth or headphone jack" option in this update? I had to turn that feature off because my phone kept playing music over the speaker when I was riding in a car (not driving). Hopefully they solved that annoying little problem.

they also updated the motorola connect, for the sms issues.
i tried updating the moto assist but it says my phone isnt compatible, maybe its just for kitkat

They definitely added support for hangouts with the Moto Assist update. Im very glad. They also added the ability to customize the text it sends.

Did they add support for hangouts IMs or just SMS?
