I have a verizon lg g2 and was wondering if theres a way to uninstall root, custom recovery, remove root on rooting status without actually having to use the revert back to. stock method?
I don't think so. Why don't you want to restore stock?

Hey, before im starting to think about rooting my s4, i have some questions:
1: is it just as "easy"/hard to root and inject a custom rom as it where 2 years ago?
2: If the phone is rooted, is there a simple safe way to unroot the phone to be able to update the phone if some performance improvements are available?
3: If i want to load a custom ROM either the rom with a clean android or a cyanogen one, and later want to revert back to stock s4 rom like the stock i got now, is that easy to do?
4: If i end up bricking the phone, is there an easy way to un-brick it or "restore" it to it's original state like iphone and it's itunes restore function?
5: When my phone is rooted, can i take backup of the full samsung's touchwiz and android state in case something goes wrong and then restore the backup?
6: If i unroot the phone, can i still update the phone's touchwiz thingy?
7: If there is no way to take backup of my stock rom, can i then easily fetch the exact same rom i use now from a website to flash it back?
sorry for so many questions, but i need answers since my 2 previous rooting attempts on htc and lg phones failed and got bricked.
Hello,
I have tmobile G2, and I'm planning to go back completely stock (my phone is so unorganized inside) before getting the OTA, using
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2432476
this method, then get the OTA on the phone safe,
then use
http://www.droidviews.com/root-lg-g2...nt-ota-update/
to root the device, and finally follow the normal procedures in the first page of this thread to install twrp.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2449670
Can anyone tell me if this would work fine and have no issues regarding twrp or whatever (not being able to go into twrp, etc)? Would I run into any problems?
thx
Anyone ?

Hello guys,
I have my G2 D802 by 4 days, updated to official 4.4.2 by OTA
Now the question is: Should i root?
i always used phone rooted, also because i always used Greenify to save battery
Let me write down all my cares:
1) If i root ( without installing modified recovery) can i continue to receive otas?
2) if NOT, is easy and fast to return stock?
3) i want root only for installing Xposed and Greenifiy ( with donation package), is worth the thing?
4) And most important, to install Xdabbed camera and DEBLOAT the stock rom ( i think all those services are eating battery or i'm worng??)
5) any tip?
Thanks

1)as long as you don't install custom recovery yes
2)it's easy just use back to stock thread in g2 general
3)Greenify really helps out like so apps can be using mobile data all the time and exposed definitely helps modify the stock Rom with needing to install new Rom so I'd it's worth it
4)I am on xdabbebs camera mod and its totally worth it+debilitating is very important to get rid of apps we don't need
5)root is worth it but if you also want to be able to ota then you are taking a gamble because xposed and mods involve modifying the system partition which could trigger the "device is suspected of rooting" when updating and so it will always fail unless you go back to complete stock

Thanks a lot, very satisfied after your answer!
In point 5, you say that the system will found that i modified the phone and will fail, but this will hapens also if i uninstall xposed before to do OTA?

it's not just xposed it's any changes in the system partition, installing xposed/modded camera/removing bloat/busybox, these all trigger the "your device is suspected of rooting and I am sure there are other things I don't know of
I took care of it. Thanks. Please delete.

I have a VS980.
I rooted and installed TWRP when the phone first came out. Normally, I have a folder on my computer with all packagsa, and notation of what and how I do whatever on my phones. I decided to finally install the OTA, but cant get it to take. I went into my folder and cant find the method of root I used. I have tried different methods with all of them failing.
Is there a way to install the OTA without me unrooting or returning my phone to factory? Im probably going to pick up the G3 in the next month and dont want to hassle until then.

Hello,
I recently sent my LG G2 back under the limited warranty and they sent me a replacement phone. My phone is on its way to the VZW service center to be evaluated, and I'm wondering if Verizon can check if the phone was previously rooted. I didn't install any custom ROMs or anything, there was this special app designed for the LG G2 app that I can download an .apk, press the root button, and it was done after a reboot. To unroot the system, I flashed the device with the stock image using the LG flash tool. Should I be concerned?
I have the replacement phone they gave me and I want to root this one, but if they see root on the other phone they'll ask for this phone back and if they can see I rooted this phone as well.. they'll charge full retail price probably.
In other words, should I be concerned?
Thanks!
