Hello all- After a time away from my beloved Samsung (Sony, HTC, LG, Huawei and back..) I only just got around to getting a S4. When I had my S3 I had about 100 or so .apk fonts from an old thread here on XDA... anyway I still have those old fonts but they do not install on my S4.
Can I assume that they have upgraded something and these old .apk's are simply obsolete ?
Just curious as to what may have changed.
Cheers, LL13- :laugh::laugh:

Hi Guys,
http://www.samsunghub.com/2010/10/1...king-android-tablet-smt-i9100-for-kddi-japan/
above link FYI. Samsung has released a new tablet for a specific carrier KDDI in japan.
what caught my eye was that samsung opted for Ocean Observation UI instead of TouchWiz UI.
Does any one knw more about this UI? it would be nice if devs can port it to our galaxy S.
its a bit too early, but this thread can be used for port development and discuss further about this new UI.
They just use round icons in stead of squared ones, and there might be no calling option available since it is a tablet. Doesn't seem to much of a difference compared to TouchWiz.
wrong section moved
now back on topic.... "ewwww"
that was the first impression i got as soon as i shaw the pictures
A little bit of a weird UI 0_0.
Well before we get ahead of ourselves, the first step is probably to get either a system dump of the device, or a firmware (from which system can be extracted anyway). Then we can try and run/modify the launcher apk.
But... probably won't happen for a while, unless the UI has some interesting features.
sorry for posting it in development section...
LOL guys..it doesnt look so "eeewwww"
what was interesting is that why samsung would leave their first child TouchWiz!!!!
the source webpage looks sooo crap..i couldnt find more information about this..thought i should bring to XDA DEVS notice.
Hey ho Folks,
I'm a Flashmaniac since i got my SGS2 2 1/2 years ago and used 10+ different Roms.
I've got my new SGS4 Since yesterday, rooted 5 min after i unboxed it... put CM 10.1 on,
recovered all apps from my Old one and i'm nearly happy.
But!
I've like to get some of the Original Samsung apps back on... like the TV Remote or SmartStay ...
I searched here to get a dump of all apps but couldn't find them...
Therefor ... does anybody know how i get them, ether from an original Rom image or elswere?
Best Regards
Tig
CM framework is different from Touchwiz one, so you can't use samsung features/apps on CM, thats a cons from using CM

Well hello first I'm new here I was an iPhone user so I'm having problems with the whole OS that is Android I don't understand anything here, I bought a Galaxy S4 (M919) from T-Mobile cause I wanted to try something different and I tought the Galaxy S4 was the right choice for me, I don't want to regret switching to Android mainly because almost all the apps I used on my iPhone are not on Android I have looked so much for like tweaks or stuff like that that I used to do on my iPhone with cydia but I can't find anything, almost all the themes I find are so ugly well I come here to find help and make understand all the capabilitites of Android.
So I bought my phone from T-Mobile paid full price for it to get it unlocked unfortunately they haven't helped at all with unlocking it, I found a guide here that was dialing a number to go on service mode and change some settings I have tried this method so many times and it hasn't worked I even accidentally deleted the backup on the last step, I'm so lost I would appreciate some help on this matter.
I have been looking for ROMs mainly to help on battery life and movings app to my sd card any recommendations on which ROM should I pick and some guide on how to install it.
Any help intoducing me on the Android OS would be gladly appreciated and thanks for reading this.
Hello,
I have just joined the XDA Developers forum because I am getting tired of my small iPhone 5s and would like to try out the Samsung Galaxy S5! I had an Android device before on Verizon and I switched to iPhone because of all the bloatware and features Verizon disabled. That was before I discovered this forum and all of the great tweaks I can utilize in order to make the phone ultimately the way I want it to.
Since then, I have come across a "bloatkill.zip"script that claims it will remove any bloatware that I tell it to.
That being said, I was wondering which apps are safe to delete and if "flashing" that script on my (soon to purchase) Galaxy S5 will not harm the phone at all?
Thank you, I apologize for my ignorance in advance (I am just now learning all of the Android lingo)!

Have to have root first. Root not available yet.
Hi,
I'm a longtime iOS user that just bought a galaxy s5 to see if it was good for me, I however have been disappointed because of all the annoying software that comes preloaded that slows the phone down, I tried out a nexus 5 and loved it however I had received the international version which wouldn't work with Sprint, so I thought I'd try the S5 and I like it except I wish it was more like the nexus 5(non-laggy, etc...) so now I'm curious...is there anything out there that will turn the sgs5 basically into stock Android like nexus 5? How do I install them? I couldn't find any reliables build on cyanogenmod nor could I figure out how to backup in case I wanted to revert back to standard android that came with it...I don't know if I put enough research into finding what I'm looking for but I googled and read stuff that I didn't quite understand most of the day. Any help would be very appreciated.
Sorry to ask such a dumb question to those who are going to troll.
Search XDA for s5 debloat or similar, it will give you a list of what can be removed, and I think there are some debloat tools as well.
Try this on for size should be right up your alley http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2857451
