Hey guys I am going to get a Sprint model of the G2.. And I noticed that each variant have it's own development thread.
I also have notices that some of you are not making a rom that will work for all variants.
I'm been a samsung user since the s2 days.. With the S3 and S4 is easier to port a rom from other variants since they're the same device by doing some changes like Libs,
Permissions, build.prop, some framework files, apns-config.xml, boot.img, etc
So since I have not seen roms that are compatible with all variants I am wondering why? I assume they're all the same device and hardware specks? And I also wondering is doing these modifications from other roms to your variant will work.. I'm new to LG but I willing to see if I can port some of the roms for myself. Since the sprint variant has no roms on it's thread.
I have been wondering the same thing too! Are Roms for the ls980 just being posted somewhere else? Would love to have the pac man rom...

Since Samsung released a good update to the International versions recently with a bunch of bugs fixes for lag, camera issues, apps to SD, I've heard there have been some ports for our AT&T version?
When I had my Note 2 I didn't do any ROMs since I thought it ran just fine stock, but I used to ROM the heck out of my S3 when I had it. Now that I have the S4 and it just runs like crap in many ways, I am very excited about the new big update. Unfortunately we don't have any idea when it will hit AT&T.
So can anyone recommend a good ROM for our AT&T S4 which is based on that new International Build?
Thanks.
Just head over to the Intl i9505 section and grab a ROM and flash it then flash an at&t kernel. Done
Mint jelly all the way. There are a few choices though.

Goldeneye is pretty damn awesome; keeps all the features, option to install sammy bloatware, and all the speed. Best of AOSP and TW features IMO. Cyanogen Mod breaks too much.
Hi guys.
After about 2 weeks of using my new android phone I feel I'm getting the hang of things.
The support here has been wonderful, so now that I'm fully rooted with nandroid backups made I'm interesting in seeing some of the work you guys do here with different rom releases.
That said, there are so many terms u see floating around, such as csc and and many others.
This leads to some confusion. Anyone know what roms I'm looking for? Currently I'm running N900W8VLUBMJ4
Am I looking for some of the N900 ones? Do I need to modify the roms or change any files to get it working with my Canadian carrier?
I see a lot of MJ7 roms but I'm not sure how they differ from mine? Compatible?
Thanks!

Just a question, I know for a lot of other phone a Canadian equivalence phone (ie Sammy s3 and note 2) can use at&t ROM with out mods...is this the same case for the d803? Can we use d800 ROM without modding? I just find there's limited ROM for d803, please advice.
J
I dont think so from what ive read. I downloaded an att ROM today actually and removed the boot.img from it. Going to flash later when i get home and see what happens.
It would be nice if the LG roms worked like sammy...being able to flash without issue across diff models/carriers especially since roms for the d803 are limited.

Can we flash d802 ROM on d803? The international version?

Anyone know if you can flash any jflte rom on verizon s4 if you flash loki hack on top? I know with Carbon and other builds that is the case but I'm looking at Mahdi's Rom and I see only people using KT kernel.

I don't believe you can flash any rom other than Verizon without some involved build.prop editing at the very least. International roms are compatible with my at&t but I usually have to fix my apns . There are a couple threads on porting roms to different carriers but I never read them so- I can't really recommend one personally. Search it and see. Good luck
Hello. I am new to the V20 but not to Android nor XDA. I live in Australia and I'm looking at using custom roms. I wanted to know the limitations to this model. Can I flash other variant roms (T-Mobile/Verizon/Sprint/etc/etc) on the US996 model and then just flash the suitable kernel and modem for my device, or is it more complicated than that? - I ask this coming recently from Samsung Note series where doing what I said is generally possible.
I am also looking at potentially bringing a new ROM to this device as I have previously compiled AOSP roms for Samsung devices and looking to try something new.
Thanks guys

pretty sure you can only flash us996 roms and theres like one out there, Weta. I flashed it and it was nice but I ended up just going back to the stock LG rooted rom. there's really nothing out there for the 996 which sucks bc i bought it since its unlocked and figured it would have most development... clearly I was wrong! lol
