Hey guys I am going to get a Sprint model of the G2.. And I noticed that each variant have it's own development thread.
I also have notices that some of you are not making a rom that will work for all variants.
I'm been a samsung user since the s2 days.. With the S3 and S4 is easier to port a rom from other variants since they're the same device by doing some changes like Libs,
Permissions, build.prop, some framework files, apns-config.xml, boot.img, etc
So since I have not seen roms that are compatible with all variants I am wondering why? I assume they're all the same device and hardware specks? And I also wondering is doing these modifications from other roms to your variant will work.. I'm new to LG but I willing to see if I can port some of the roms for myself. Since the sprint variant has no roms on it's thread.
I have been wondering the same thing too! Are Roms for the ls980 just being posted somewhere else? Would love to have the pac man rom...

Not sure if this is in the right section. I used a non lte S4 and there was obviously a lot less custom roms available then for the lte model. I am now using the S5. I see there is a couple of custom roms for the SM-G900F, but there is currently no custom roms for the SM-G900H or am I looking in the wrong section when I look here..http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s5/development, if not, is somebody busy with a custom rom for the SM-G900H? There are very talented guys designing roms on here and I hope they make their way to the SM-G900H side.

be patience dude, the dev will work on our model, just stay tune
Just glad to hear there is hope... Can't wait.....
as there are more countries adopting LTE, there are less markets adopting the exynos version of the GS5. therefore less developers. Hopefully developers even those from LTE-running countries make rome for the exynos version. :fingers-crossed:
Is there still no rom hope for this phone ????

Nah, really I feel that nowadays if you root and use xposed you will find almost all the things you used to look for in a rom.
And you can debloat yourself using Titanium Backup or greenify donate.
That's at least in my case, there's even an xposed module to remove the s connect shortcut in the notification bar, the only modification I did directly on the apk.
So for now, there's not a huge need for a custom rom, 98% of the tuneup scripts are bs. And most tweaks are already in wanam xposed or app settings.
i dont think that we have hope..:/
btw @Shohat said that until the end of May he will release custom rom of sm-g900h but still now, nothing happen...

Don't believe any promises in that thread...
Yea not into trusting that thread either lol. I am rooted and use wannam and to be honest i am quite happy with it so far. I also use the phone for lots of training, so I use Endomondo sports tracker and the heart rate ANT etc and the battery life is phenominal. I am not sure I would want to run a custom rom that is going to have bugs etc. I stock standard with a few speed tweaks and debloated might do the trick but I guess we will have to wait and see if anyone has the guts to build for this model ??
I waiting for rom galaxy s5 g900h
Hi everyone ,
i installed Recovery for my G900h, but i still waiting for dev make a new ROM for G900H exynos, :good:
never test a rom G900F or else you risked your phone fallen break:crying:
Sorry bro, can't read your post, the text it's too small.
After having rooted for weeks and used greenify, titanium backup and xposed framework I still don't see any need of a custom rom (same experience I had with my Nexus 5 - stock rooted with franco).
Custom kernel is a different story, just changing a couple of things makes a good difference in standby consumption (sec-battery-monitor, wlan_rx_wake and l2_hsic wakelocks).

Where at all is Andreilinux? He is the one who did it for the s4 octa, so whats special for the s5 version that hardly anybody shows any interest in it?
I want to ask that I am very much interested in making a custom rom for this device. But the problem is that I have no past experience.. So how tough a job it is, to make a rom for exynos devices if I haven't made any rom in the past?

The problem is not that its hard to make a rom for exynos or anything special about s5.... I guess its that hardly anyone and no devs have the device. Supporting and building for a device that you dont own is just not sensible.

any progress about custom rom of sm-g900h? we need cm
Hey guys, I recently rooted my galaxy s5 model SM-G900H and it is still running the stock rom.
I tried using my Allshare cast wireless dongle and when it connects after a second it disconnects and the phone says
hardware problem. Any way to work around this? I downloaded triangle away and my flash counter is at 3. I tried resetting the flash counter but it is not working. Any help will really be appreciated as I am in Africa and I really need the screen mirroring to implement some community projects. Thank you all

I'm waiting 4 CM!!! or more chefs
need advice on which fully functioning rom will work on my rogers galaxy s4?also how to root?unlock?I have flashed htc windows devices years ago but pretty new to android, was reading one thread but like a thousand pages, wow!!!any advice would be apreciated.
Best place to start is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2314494
As for ROM recommendations, that's one you'll have to find on your own. We generally don't allow recommendations on threads lest they attract trolls/fanbois and hijack your thread. Besides... you'll never find what you like if you don't explore a little bit.
Best of luck and welcome!

For rooting, look up CF-auto root or kingo root, CF-auto uses odin pc so you may want to read up on that, I use version 3.07, others have used 3.09. For rom choices, you want to make sure you are selecting a rom for i337m, there are also roms for i337 which is the at&t version, if it doesn't specify Canada or i337m I would stay away from it. There are ASOP (sort of a vanila rom) and touch wiz roms suggest you read up on the differences. To flash any rom you need a custom recovery, I use TWRP version 2.6 some say to use 2.5 and I would suggest staying away from the latest and greatest since I have seen a lot of issues using the newest versions. Some people use Philz recovery which I am not familiar with but have seen quite a few successes with it. The last option is clockwork recovery, though I have used it in the past it can be finicky and I have seen people have a few issues with it. Lastly unlocking, if you going to unlock, I would skip all the free methods and use a reputable service like unlocker.com or something like that.... again read up before hand.
Best advice I can give, if your going to try something, read a lot make sure you know what your doing and be paitent, some processes look like they are doing nothing but allow them to finish.....

All S4 ROMs run on all variants, with the exception of the i9500 octa core version. So you can flash anything, but the ROMs in the development section here that mention jfltecan or Canadian S4 or I337m are the best. I've also heard T-Mobile ROMs are the next best for you, and keep in mind there are also the unified ROMs with one zip for all variants.
The iB4STiD variants have been working great for me. The GPE and TW versions.
Read this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2314494 3 or 4 times. Familiarize yourself with kernels and roms that work with i337m. Read as much as you can. The general section has so much useful info. Good luck.

So I'm new to rooting and Androids in general.
I've already rooted my phone and made backups of everything. Now I'm looking into custom ROMs.
Do I need to find a ROM specific to my model of phone (SM-N900T) or can it be anything SM-N900 related?
The SM-N900T is more closely related to the SM-N9005. Is a snapdragon variant, whereas the SM-N900 is an exynos device. Do not try to use n900 rooms on a snapdragon base, you'll be looking at a brick if it manages to flash at all.
You can use most n9005 roms worth minor edits. Just search around for more info. We also have our own forum, look for the tmobile note 3 forum.

Firstly, if you are looking for fully compatible custom roms for your
new SM-N900T Tmobile Note 3 then you are in the wrong forum.
This forum does have many things which might work fine for the SM-N900T
however for a new user it would be a lot better to start off in the appropriate
xda forum for your phone.
Here is the link to the Note 3 SM-N900T developer's forum which has custom
roms, mods and themes specifically built/created for Tmobile SM-N900T:

Thank you very much! I appreciate you pointing me in the right direction!
I'm thinking of getting a S5, but I would like one that I could completely customize with Roms and everything. I currently just know that both AT&T and Verizon are locked at the bootloader. So I know I won't be able to use custom roms on those. But I am not complete sure about the other phones.
Help would be appreciated thanks in advance

I think you should be able to put custom roms even on those devices.
However, I think there's nothing like unlocked, international version of the device.
I wonder though whether Snapdragon is better than Exynos regarding this issue.
Anyway, good luck. I hope to read interesting opinions about this, as all I wrote here are just guesses.

well I've seen custom roms on these devices, but the roms cannot be fully customizable like cyannogenmod. They have to be touch wiz based roms for them to be able to work on these devices.

Stock rom with root and xposed framework will offer a ton of mods for you
i sold my 900a in favor of a 900f. locked bootloader meant no custom kernel.
