This shouldn't be acceptable on a $550+ tablet!....Right? - Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) General

We've all paid a premium pricing for a premium quality tablet experience and so far with the updates, its been getting better and better. However, I downloaded the racing game Asphalt 8 because I noticed a lot of review sites using this as an example in the over the graphics tablet comparasions (mainly the iPad Air and Mini). And I was taken aback when I went into setting, thinking that I would be able to max this puppy out graphically. However, the highest graphics quality I was able to select was "Low"!
Really,...."low" on a $550+ top of the line device is truly unacceptable.
I'm not sure if I should be upset with Samsung because of its in house Exynos variant as compared to the Snapdragon, or with Gamelofts graphics engine. All I know is that I'm kinda upset with both companies right now, because at the end of the day, you and I as the consumer are the ones that paid the premium price tag and ultimately suffer.
What's weird is that my buddy installed the same game on his T-Mobile GALAXY Note 2 ( which has an older Exynos processor) and got to choose the highest graphics options.
Is it just my tablet, and if not, who should I be talking to, to get this issue resolved. I love this tablet and I use it mostly for work and productivity, but when I want to relax and game, I want a gaming experience device that reflects the pricing.
Thanks for letting me blow off a little steam, but this is absolutely ridiculous!

Can anyone else check if they are limited to low setting only as well please? Have you emailed Gameloft yet, OP?

It's not weird at all. The N10.1-14 has an image area of 45 square inches while the N2's image area is 13.5 square inches. So the N10.1-14 is pushing 13,455 pixels (45 square inches x 299 PPI) while the N2's pushing 2,255 (13.5 square inches x 167 PPI). The Note 3 is 14.8 square inches so it's pushing 5,742 pixels (14.8 square inches x 388 PPI). That means the N10.1-14 is pushing 83% more pixels than the N2 and 57% more than the N3.
Mali-T628 in the Exynos N10.1-14 and Adreno 330 in the S-800 version are both excellent; but they have their work cut out for them based on the size and pixel density of the N10.1-14's display. So comparing high PPI tablets to their phone counterparts isn't really apples-to-apples when discussing performance.

There are exactly two tablets with 2560 x 1600 resolution out right now, so it's not surprising that the app doesn't recognize the Note's native resolution. It's not that the tablet can't run max settings, it's that the app doesn't know what the max settings are because it doesn't understand what resolution it's looking at.

You also have to remember that when developing an app for Android, think about all of the various Android devices of differemt screen sizes, hardware, versions of Android, etc., that the developer has to contend with.
When someone is developing an app for an iOS device, those numbers are significantly lower since Apple controls hardware/software to a much more in-depth degree. If a developer is making an app for current gen devices that means they likely only have to support iOS 7, and 3-4 devices vs hundreds.

Wow. Um. Okay.

First off, the Exynos has tested faster than the Snapdragon. It's a faster processor.
Two, that's not the GPU. The GPU is the Mali-T628.
Third, the GPU benchmarks REALLY well.
Fourth, why would you assume that because an app doesn't LET you choose higher quality settings that it's the TABLET'S problem?
Jeeeeeeez, some people...

You sure that's not just an internet problem? Anyone else want to check if they can on theirs? This is starting to look worrying. I hope I don't have all these problems when mine comes otherwise I will just stick with my iPad..

Gameloft has a few games that don't even run on the galaxy 10.1 2014. N.O.V.A 3 craps out after the splash screen and its been that way for weeks. I contacted game loft and no answer on it whatsoever. So, who knows, maybe they don't care.

There are at least 4 if you exclude variants:
Nexus 10
Asus TF701T
Toshiba Excite Pro

With the N10 being out over a year and the Toshiba launched this past summer, surely SOMEONE has used this game on this res.

That is Gameloft. They make (maybe) great games but they didn't know how to write apps for Android since years. Every new device with different specs have this problem with their games. And yes, their customer support is always bad...
Normally they have to be informed and after some updates, they can handel the new specs.

oooohhh shiny i want one.....oh wait i have something better lol.
Apple are bieist SOBS, When I was watching the IPad 3 keynote I was literally grinding my teeth as they laughed at Android's small flaws (which wernt exactly flaws) and promoted the iPad flawless in comparison compared. This happens every year and this year is no different to apple's routine to demotivate other companies at every keynote!, plus the biggest WTF moment in the whole keynote was when they compared the tegra 3 to the apple A5 and A5X chips and told the tegra to be the lowest one in all of them!!! I mean come on ! A5 was a dual core and Tegra 3 is a quad core plus the 5th ninja core!! WTF APPLE! #$%& you!

Well you have your hardcore groups in either. I know people with an iPad 1 that didn't feel compelled to buy a 2... but the jump from 1 to 3 warrants a new purchase. I have a Transformer but didn't rush out for the Prime just because. Mine works great and nothing pushes it to a place where it under performs. Same with any make and model.
Its like console sales. Fanboys always say PS3 is selling more or 360 has the lead.... but eventually everyone who wants one will have one and numbers decline. Putting a bigger processor to run a larger screen resolution cancel out the speed benefits of said quad core. Plus native resolution will look good on any screen designed to run that specific resolution. My transformer has a beautiful screen with great clarity but I'm not running 1920x1200... how can that be!!!!
Super high resolutions are best left for the big dogs (ie PCs). 1280x1024 is plenty for a 10" screen. My 26" LCD PC monitor runs at 1920x1200... overkill for a 10" screen.
The downfall is now your forced to stream higher quality video because 480p will look like total crap when stretched to much. That or play them at their native size which will be super tiny = defeats purpose. Plus iOS is faced with ANOTHER resolution change, and we all know apps don't scale in Apple land... so prepare to purchase all your apps and games for their HD+ editions all over again.
Pass.

Um, no.
I went through quite a few tablets (including the ipad) before I settled down to the TF101. And when the prime came out, I didn't go and line up for hours/days to buy one on the first day. I still don't have a prime even though I've been thinking of upgrading. I just haven't found a good reason to upgrade yet.
i think apple needs to realize that a 4:3 resolution is NOT FOR MOVIES, NOT FOR WEBSITES
they should have gone with 2048x1280 for 16:10 res. 2048x1152 is just too thin(16:9, as in dell's SP2309W that is 2048x1152)
still though 1920x1200 is plenty for a 10 inch screen.
---------- Post added at 03:41 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:39 AM ----------
i bet they asked some old people if they could tell the difference between 250ppi and 132ppi
for the record TF101 is at 150ppi. i think 200 is the sweet spot

Um, yes. Maybe not you personally and i never say you. I'm just saying the majority of the consumers out there. you think the majority of Android users will even know what tegra2 is of you ask them. LOL
either ive converted a few people in our area or the Ipad3 just didnt do it for them.........
We took 4 paid pre orders on Thursday (yes only 4) - sold around the same amount again on the
launch day, and maybe a few more than that yesterday......so out of just over 40 we had around half still in stock left,
Think we sold more Ipad2 tbh. We had them side by side with the inpregnated Apple demo photos on the screen and although to some the difference was clear, others didnt see alot in it......infact the majority said "which ones the new one?".......and the ipad2 photos were taken in over cast conditions which showed the ipad3s sunny snaps up better (hmmm)
Ipad2 launch was carnage and was sold out in under half an hour - including main warehouse.
Personally the screen and camera to me are definately much improved.....didnt see much speed difference. Think id be disapointed going from a 2 to a 3 though.

The disingenuous part of the speech was where he explains why the iPad will never be beaten by Android tablets: He proceeds to show two apps, for each app he shows the the Android version which looks like a stretched/scaled phone app and then he shows the iOS version which look like HC/ICS tablet apps.
There's several problems with this:
A) If this is his justification for that statement, his justification is a joke.
B) His team handpicked the two worst apps to make his point. It's like claiming you're the strongest in the village and beating up a toddler to prove it. If he wanted to do a fair comparison he should have compared the iOS YouTube app to the Android HC/ICS YouTube app because the YouTube app (and other apps like the G-Mail app) on HC/ICS showcases the new ActionBar and Fragment classes Google introduced from HC onward.
He took the two worst apps that didn't utilize these classes and of course as a result they looked like **** compared to the iOS versions. His justification = a big LOL.
Here's a picture diagram of the YouTube app on both Android and iOS and you'll see they're very similar and if he had shown this it would have deflated his weak punchline. Each fragment (in red/blue) can hold what used to be separate activities so you can see multiple activities on the screen at once on the extra real estate of a tablet screen. The menu is no longer hidden by a hardware or software button. It's proudly displayed on the top as an Options Menu on the ActionBar for crucial options and the rest or what won't fit goes in the overflow menu (green).

I'm still puzzled by this random reboot thing that's supposedly plaguing the TF101's out there. None of the 15 TF's we have have random reboots. They all go into deep sleep just fine. I haven't charged my TF since Thursday. It goes into deep sleep almost immediately after the screen is turned off.

Not sure what the difference is between black clipping and black crush, all i knw is that on my s3 when i view most videos with the exception of extremely high quality blu-ray rips, dark scenes appear to loose detail, as if the black become blocky almost like they are not rendering correctly. however bright scenes in daylight or well lit rooms tend to display fine. i was just wondering if the note 2 has solved these problems.
its a very common issues on super amoled hd
I couldn't find it on mine (GT-N7100, ordered from Expansys Austria, shipped from Marseille). I could'nt also find any hint in the englisch manual I downloaded from the Samsung Hongkong Site. I read in a short review that a long press on the back key should bring up the multiview side tab. It definitely doesn't on mine.
Beside the little less text on webpages (which doesn't disturb my surfing experience) I couldn't find a thing that is not better than on the N1.

The plus points for me:
- The screen - brighter, crisper, by far better test result with the black clipping image presented on XDA, good outside visibility. Better automatic brightness handling as far as I'm concerned.
- The pen - oval, so that you can't miss the button side, thicker, longer, riffled button, smooth on the screen
- The battery - I used mine a lot during the day (as it is when you test a new gadget ) and I'm on 28% battery. Very impressed.
- The notification led in different colors.
- The speaker (clearer, more bass)
- Air View works much better than on the promo videos. Practicable and fun.
- Camera with a faster shutter and a lot of bells and whistles.
- Speed of the device - it's just fun to use it.
- Slightly better positioning of volume keys and power key - didn't press the power key by accident so far.
- of course a lot of software improvements but that may come to the N1 too.
Hmm pity about the missing multi-window feature. It looks really cool in that Korean promo video. I would guess it will come in a future update though. There is no reason to make it a Korean exclusive.
Otherwise great to see that you are enjoying the phone. Personally I was impressed with it right from the start but I remember there was a feeling of disappointment among some posters at the announcement. I think a lot of it was because of the slightly lower resolution on the screen. Also it wasn't quite clear at the time that the Note 2 uses RGB instead of Pentile. Anyway clearly the Note 2's screen is great which, combined with all the other upgrades, makes it a worthy successor to a great phone.
Someone needs to get a dump of the korean ROM and make if flashable on the N7000 Note ASAP!!!!!
That is such a killer feature to not have!

Believe me, the Note 2 has so much AI built-in (smart stay, smart rotate, mouse hover, multi windows....i can go on all day) that it makes me realize the name "smartphone" is suddenly an apt one for the device. The quad core + 2GB RAM + full rgb amoled screen yield an experience much like using a laptop so please dont listen to the ones who do not have the device yet and start comparing it to iphone5 out of boredom...doing that is like comparing the note 2 to a 1985 Motorola first generation phone.
Also for the first time I have absolutely no desire to put any custom roms on the phone....the firmware on the note 2 as it is now is an absolute triumph....I cant imagine why anyone would load crap made from the bedroom of some hairless nerd when you have a platform produced by hundreds of professional engineers that went through proper QA

I find this multiview issue to be weird. Cuz on the Swedish Note 2 manual that is the same as any N7100 it clearly states that multiview is available and how to activate it.
I saw a Swedish video of it with 4G obviously N7105 and sue enough. Multiview was shown.

Is it worth the updgrade?

Hi Guys. Looking for honest opinions on the Nexus 7 (2013) as I have the Nexus 7 (2012) 32Gb and am looking to upgrade. Want to know if it's worth it? I know the spec is better, but wanted some opinions of people who have used it to advise how it feels, have the touchscreen issues been fixed, and other reported issues with first batches. Many Thanks in advanced
Is an upgrade in every aspect of the first. The screen is sooooo much better and with the new processor there is zero lag. Those were my main two issues with the first and I'm extremely happy with the second one.
>^.^< Sent From Meow HTC One
I'm coming from the ASUS TF300T (10" tablet). Granted, I never used the OG N7, but the TF300T also has a Tegra 3 processor, just clocked a little slower.
Physical differences:
While the change in size was a little bit of an adjustment for me (took like 20mins of use), it quickly grew on to me. I can easily hold it with one hand, as opposed to resting the 10" across my upper arm/wrist. It also fits into the pocket of just about any of my pants, and you would never tell.
Speed vs. Lag:
I can tell you that the difference between the two is night and day. You barely notice the tab slow down if you are installing/updating apps. There were times where the browser would not respond to my pinches, but the navigation bar would still respond as normal. I'm not sure if that's a problem with the tablet, or with Chrome. Might be Chrome, but I haven't used ugh of the other browsers (except for Dolphin, which allows me to save my downloads where I want to before it begins).
Multitasking is awesome. You sometimes forget which apps were running in the background, but 8 different apps later, and the old ones still reload instantly, without any redraw.
Conclusion:
This was my short review of the N7.2. I know that I left out a lot of topics, but I listed the reasons why I switched. Yes, the OG N7 isn't slow, but going forward, you will begin to see where its older hardware begins to lag behind.
The upgrade isn't necessary, in my opinion, but it's worth the money. If it's too much of a sacrifice, then simply wait for something that's way better.

I like the slightly slimmer form factor, and the speed bump is noticeable to me.
No regrets upgrading from the original N7 here.
Look at it like this:
I am speaking from experience I own both models 2012 and 2013
Tegra 3 still kicks the adreno GPU's butt at games no matter what people try to tell me.Consider this....on the TEGRA N7 you can O.C you GPU to over 600 MHZ...its not the safest but its wayhigher and performs better than the 2013 model which tops out at UNDER 500MHZ.
I have both tablets on the same ROM with the same kernel running at their stock frequencies and tegra delivers better gaming despite the 2012 N7 screen being crappy.
Now... as far as overall smooth performance and usage the new N7 is the clear winner since it runs at higher frequencies and has a better CPU, better screen with higher ppi. You also have more RAM, dual speakers, two cameras, and less bezzel.
They are both great I own N7 2012 32GB wifi and N7 2013 32GB LTE.
I use my old one only for games so memory is full now and use my new one mainly for every thing from emails for work, apps, surfing and even voice calls with groove ip. you can still play games and they look great but I feel tegra is always going to deliver slightly and maybe even better gaming performance with future tegra chips.
hope it helps this is just my take on it
Edit: Don't get me wrong it is deffinitely an upgrade in every sense of the word, and I would say go and upgrade but it really depends what you use it for and if it makes sense to spend the money as well. The new N7 is a great device and I waited for it very much until the ATT version came out on GOOGLE PLAY.. just depends what you want it for that's all

You must get a lot of people trying to tell you otherwise. Come on, the Adreno 320 dumps all over the Tegra 3's GPU both on paper and in benchmarks and pretty sure I've seen some actual game results too. It's also a widely known fact that that NVIDIA has always sucked for mobile GPU's, even still with the Tegra 4.

Yeah hard to believe tegra 3 I could function better on games, even if you could oc the gpu a little higher.

i have a tegra 3 device and an Xperia Z (adreno 320-1080p).
on the z every game works lagfree on highest graphics, on tegra there are a lot of lags and stutters.
Xperia Z-Vanir AOSP
Whether to upgrade or not is going to come down to personal wants and needs, I think.
My personal experience:
I've spent a total of probably an hour, over the course of a couple visits, playing with the 2013 model at a local store. That was enough device time for me to decide that the upgrade wasn't worth it....for me. I did everything I normally do (or as much as possible with a display model) on the 2013 and came away underwhelmed. For my needs (reading, email, news, calendar) I really couldn't tell the difference between the two (the screen included).
Anyway, my needs are obviously simple, so mileage will vary.
I have upgraded and can say: A huge improvement!
On the 2012 model, display contrast was poor, and text was not completely sharp - so you could read web sites with small text on it, but it was straining for the eyes, especially when the text was not black (e.g grey like in the Play Store or Youtube app).
On the 2013 model, all is very easily readable and eye-friendly (although my Tablet Z has even better contrast).
This alone is worth an upgrade.
I like my new Nexus 7, just as much as I enjoyed the 1st gen I had.
As the old model is an awesome tablet, I managed to sell it easily, and the price to upgrade was minimal, so that was a great incentive to upgrade. The new model has these improvements that I think is worth the upgrade:
A) the faster speed/processor plus the 2MB ram... everything is just slightly less laggy, most notably when multitasking many RAM-heavy apps at once, and switching back and forth between them
B) the dual/stereo speakers is a nice upgrade
C) the lack of any noticible pixels in the screen due to the massive resolution bump-up
D) the form factor of both models is excellent, but the new one is a bit lighter (quite a bit) plus thinner and all around better to handle
E) I don't have a cellphone, so the rear camera is a nice addition
Really though, both are excellent in all regards... I don't play GPU intensive games, so maybe there is a reason to upgrade as well, but I doubt it... If you can sell your 1st one easily, do it... Whoever gets your old one will be getting a killer tablet, and you will be (slightly) future-proofing yourself by having the latest and greatest.

Tegra 4 GPU isn't that bad. It's just a bit better than Adreno 320 but behind 330.
I have the tf300 and now the n7 2013, I think for browsing and other small things they are equally smooth (provided you run 4.3 on the tf300, otherwise it's laggy as hell) but I have to say this screen is beautiful, as good as the HTC one x (which is pretty damn good, just not as good as the HTC one), font in portrait are crisp and easy to read, unlike for instance the tf300 which could really only be used in landscape. Viewing angles are good too unlike for instance the tablet z.

I don't go by benchmarks benchmarks are useless... I play the same game on both and I notice the tegra 3 will play them way better regardless what a piece paper says. I don't wanna try to convince you because it really doesn't do anything for me lol but having both I can see the differences and where one beats the other.
Its very funny you bring up benchmark results though and amusing....I guess you haven't read all the recent stuff about how most OEMS cheat benchmarks but then again some people will believe whatever they're told. I guess if I tell u apples are blue you'd believe it.

Well most of those benchmarks have the exact same workload as playing a game, thus it is impossible for a GPU 3x faster in such benchmarks to be slower in a game, unless there are serious issues with the game itself.
Also, you must be too slow to comprehend what you read, otherwise you'd know that stock Android devices (Nexuses) don't cheat in any way. Therefore how could OEMs cheating in benchmarks affect comparing a Nexus 7 2012 to 2013 in any way whatsoever? Lol you should probably just stop posting you obviously have no idea what you are on about.

I've got the ME572C in black, and I must say it feels really like a high end device (both in hardware specs and build quality), for 200€ only ! I rooted the device using the RootZenFone-1.4.6.8r apk (seemed legit as far as I could tell), and I'm in the process of getting rid of the bloatware.
No custom recovery, ROM, or anything actually available for the moment for my precious device, but root is there and that's the very least I need go keep this tab !
One thing to note though, I've got a little backlight bleeding on the top of the screen in portrait mode (like 2 cm wide), but I can only see it during boot. I've watched like 6+ hours of movies with it and it wasn't visible at all. Just wanted to warn about it.
Any chance we've got people working on this fabulous device ? Incredible specs for incredibly low price, I don't get why people aren't already all over it.
Got one ME572C black from BestBuy for $150 a couple of days back. Rooted it and it is working great at this point.
Researched quite a bit and decided on this. Got it Christmas, love it so far. Great budget tablet.
I'm running a new ME572C as well and loving it. Rooted with same APK and now need to clean some of the Asus crapware off of it next..

I got one for Christmas as well and love it. It seems to me that this is what would have been the Nexus 7 2014 if Google had decided to release it.
I have tried to locate the root method you have used, but have been unable to locate it. Would you mind sharing a link?

Thanks, worked like a charm!
Has anyone switched from dalvic to ART?
Does it have an option to switch? Or are you talking about more of a hack? I hadn't even looked into it..
Sent from my K007 using Tapatalk
After asking the question I looked in developer options and it looks like Asus removed it. On my two phones the option is still there and I have switched to ART, I like how it performs.
Did a *lot* of research prior to buying the ME572C - and was thrilled that Best Buy had it. Picked up one for my wife and then myself as well. We're loving it!
My understanding is that the new Intel processor has ART built in, thus no need for the Dalvik - it's using ART by default.

Awesome to know about the Intel chip and ART, if/when this gets the lollipop update it will be interesting to see how the 64 bit CPU runs with a 64 bit OS.
Well, I got this for Christmas, and while I like the tablet, I'm a little disappointed with a silly thing: I think the bezels are just huge.... I know, it's a minor thing, but I'm kinda put off by it. My old Nexus 7 used the whole face, and this is just kinda.... like half an inch all the way around.

I guess that we all have our preferences. I can understand what you're saying, but I kinda place a higher value on the amount of real estate of the screen.
I got this little boy and so far I am satisfied.
A hint: screen protector works with Nexus 7 2013 will work with ME572 for sure (exactly same size and cutouts). Moreover, some book style Nexus 7 2013 case will fit, but make sure you look up the four corners and bottom cutout for USB.
Can someone with a me572 please test clash of clans and tell me how it performs? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.supercell.clashofclans
It's a simple game with apparently simple graphics, but my ME176C has considerable lag on it. It's not unplayable, it's just very choppy.
I bought this tablet specifically for this game, so I thought that any budget device will do fine, but so far I'm wiling to send it back and get the more performant me572. I have a suspicion that the game is not properly optimized for Intel chipsets and I need to make sure that it can handle the game well.
I would appreciate if someone would test the game and tell me how it runs, but I would also prefer to hear from people that have a secondary powerful device they can compare with.
I, for example, have a note 3 and there's a huge difference.
I use Clash of Clans all the time on mine and it works great. In fact I was just setting some troops to train on it before I saw your post. Performance is awesome..
Edit: To be clear, I'm on a ME572C..

That's great! Do you also happen to have a smartphone to make a comparison between the two?

think twice when you choose this device

Did you know the s6 doesnt suport HDMI to TV as it is possible with s3,s4,s5 even 3d, note 3, note 4. so you need chromecast also the s5,note 3 and note 4 have longer battery on same usage.
Another fact is that the 32 bit CPU in note 4 has a slightly higher score in futuremark benchmarks as the s6 means its GPU performs worse while both devices have the same screen resolution. The antutu score is just higher because its CPU performs better. The new tegra x1 has even twice the gpu performance as the s6 and will be in some devices this year.
Its not waterproof. Supports no SD card. U cant replace its battery. People report even Rotation issues after wireless Charing. Tw gets laggy as hell. & im pretty sure nobody noticed it that the only reason note 4 had no official lollipop update to make people buy the s6. Even s4 hat the update so dont claim.
It looks good. And is well built. But you dont build a fast car that cant fit its fuel Inside. So this devices is more a test, overpower experiment of samsung. This fall we will see the note 5 with redicilous 4k resolution. And its overpower again just to show that they "can", f(_)cks not given about the consumer & shots been fired from apple. Iphone 6 still almost the same performance with 1/3 of the ram s6 has.
By the way the new TV box by nvidea tegra x1 is already 4k. And it does handle doom3, crysis 3 and unreal engine4 easily. And yes its Android and we will see it on smartphones too.
At the moment note 4 is the better choice because the images will look sharper on it/ due larger screen, you will have more fun with it.
Yeah. I've been thinking double twice before bought the s6, love it. My s5 still rock steady as my backup if my s6 runs out of juice

Here's the thing I'm sure people read specs as well as those of us who are more technically inclined read forums for comparison, so whats the point of this thread I'm sure people who buy an S6 know what they're getting by now.

So you wrote this thread to make people feeling bad who bought one? Ever realised that people actually did their research or not? BTW your s4 has equal score with benchmarking on the same OS version and standard rom? Lel....
Normally I don't reply on these idiotic posts.
But your slanter and crying about the S6 makes me more think like you want one but can't afford it? Correct me if I'm wrong but I seriously can't find a legitimate reason why you should qq so much about something you supposedly not like.
None of the 'downsides' you listed are concerns to me. It's really up to each buyer.
What kind of archaic world do we live in that we have to do HDMI out still? Man buy a chromecast or any miracast dongle on amazon.
S6 owner here, S3 as previous devices, my wife using I9505(search it if u dont know).
my aunty and uncle use N3, my best friends N4, this listed phone are all phone that i serviced phone consistancely, regarding what i know so far, N3 had quite less lag on default TW, only lag in gallery as everyone know(only whn its a lot of photo inside) and i dont see N4 having higher score in any benchmark app comparing to my S6, yet S6 TW rom really have the light apps vs N4...
i already installed a lot apps on my phone and i still running smooth, no heat up issues, battery last long enough as only 2550mAh vs S4 2600, SoT 5hrs vs 2.3hrs, 14nm vs 28nm, 50fps(1440p) vs 38fps(1080p) on antutu benchmark test.
Yet.. google officially claim that bug on android 5.0 will be solve in android 5.1. Im living in Malaysia, S4 i9500 already on Lollipop (no doubt), N3 also already got its Lollipop update last week.
ram vs performance, did anyone say that ram mean performance, what do you mean by almost the same performance with 1/3ram they got. Comparing different platform is quite not fair as u should know its different in many point, take a window mobile n compare then?
android can play in many ways, its not like old time, 3GB of ram, multitasking is not a problem in S6. i dont think apple can do it... (jail breaken ipad can use split screen, try it and u will know why ram so big in S6). even my S3 got better ram vs ipad2.
In short, that up to everyone's point of view. i love S6 camera, the design of the phone. even i lost adcard support, but usb otg available for all android phone, i lost change able battery, but i just need to charge below 1Hour, because 1Hour give 90% Battery. With minimum 5Hours of SoT daily usage is good enough for me, including 2hours on CC or SW(both online Games).
the s6 is stop gap phone for me, waiting for the note5 because i broke my previous phone. The S6 is a very nice phone though, nicest one I ever had
could please some mod close this idiot topic that steals space to other ppl n devs, thanks
One thing you can't level at this phone is lag. TW is still perfectly snappy on mine since I ditched Nova again for it. Apps reload but as long as you have animations on default, by the time the app is on screen it's reloaded.
The screen issues I have were present on Note 4 anyway.
As for using it with a TV, not interested.

The 2 things I put in bold in your message just kill your credibility.
My S6 is full of apps, rooted and customized like hell, yet I've never seen it lag (not even a bit, so the "like hell" seems completely bias).
About the benchmark, you really want to chose the single benchmark that suits what you want to say to prove your point?
What about the fact that every single other GPU benchmark (GFXBench,...) give is completely in favor of the S6 (by far)? Yeah I guess you don't really want to talk about those
What is OP trying to achieve here? Theres already a thread about things like that.

I am absolutely not taking sides with the OP here, but I have to say that I was a bit annoyed that Samsung removed the HDMI out for the S6.
Serious question: I often go on holiday to a house which has no wifi, can I somehow still use chromecast to stream films from the S6 to the TV in the house (the TV has HDMI ports)? I used to to this all the time with the MHL cable on my other android phones and it worked incredibly well.
