Can i change dpi to Google experience launcher??The icons are huge...
If you don't mine losing the "Okay Google" feature, you can use the Launcher3.apk from CyanogenMod11 roms that allow 5x5 rows.
You could change the app's DPI using Xposed Framework's module App Settings once they become compatible with KitKat in the near future. Otherwise you have to edit the build.prop and change the whole system's dpi, set it to 300dpi, you'll get 6x5 rows. However it can cause authentication issues when launching PlayStore, to fix that just clear the app data of PlayStore and Play services.

Only up to 130% at the moment, and that may be a Prime feature. I'll have to check out app settings after I update to new version of StockPlus.

Long time lurker here, love XDA and just actually got up and running with my new Note 4. The same thought went through my head with the stock Note 3... "Why the hell do they make a phone so large and just blow the icons up, it does me no good, I'm not a blind man..." So, naturally, one of my first steps after getting root was changing the DPI.
Like with the Note 3, I quickly realized that the Samsung Applications don't play nice with the custom DPI.
I realize this may be a completely stupid question, but my Google-fu has failed me so far. I've tried using Xposed to change the DPI (just on the Camera so far) back to defaults, but nothing seems to change the camera. Is there an alternate method to tell these applications to use the default DPI, are there modded version of these apps released yet, or is there a guide I could use to assist with modding these apps to make them friendly to DPI changes?
did you enable (tick) the (app settings) at module page of xposed? I am using note 4 too, and set default dpi = 480, and notice camera app is not support custom dpi, so i use app setting to assign it back, wish this can help.
Oh samsung, you still haven't made the camera app multi dpi, that's poor

Hey thanks for this info, but I don't seem to be able to change dpi of dialer/phone with app settings (camera and lockscreen worked). Am I changing the wrong app? (changed com.sec.phone and com.android.phone back to default 640)
Anyone know how to change recent apps dpi back to normal?

Nevermind, I forgot it was to change contacts apk. Also, with the new DPI, minimizing apps by drawing in from the corner no longer works. It will show as if it is shrinking the app to pop-up window then it will vanish. However, the window is still active as I tried multiple apps and then it prevented me because it said there is already 5 popups active (which is the maximum). Thanks for any help in advance!

I am not a developer, but I like all the work developers done for Android phones. I also had the same problem. Camera problem has been solved using "App Setting" application thru Xposed framework. However, Dialer and Keyboard didn't work.
Then I finally download Google Keyboard , which is the best one to use instead of Samsung Stock Keyboard. So, I am looking for another alternative for Dialer. lets see, I will post here if find anything. Thanks!
Hi, could someone to do Multi DPi ROM? Alternatively, only applications? Something like MultiX would tkari for Note 3? I don't like huge icons and font. and sorry for my english.
You can use xposed app settings apk to alter dpi on a per app basis. You can also edit your build prop to alter your dpi but make sure you have another launcher installed just in case as some app's are hard coded

Xposed is not a solution for Samsung Apps who are not built to display well at lower dpi. Because Samsung can't be bothered to use Google guidelines in their apps.
What the OP asked is what I kinda wish we had, an X-Note ROM or something equivalent, in which the Samsung apps are modified to run and display properly at lower dpi.

I set the build.prop DPI to 480 and then use xposed and app settings to set the Samsung apps back to 640. For now it's the only way.

Does that work better than it had previously with some apps on the Note 3, such as the Email app having huge text?

Which apps did you set back to 640? I use 480 aswell, but only my carrier text on lock screen and key field for entereing key pass looks awful. I did not change anything back to 640 and everything seems to be ok with samsung apps. Until now I tested Galaxy Apps, S Health (with wanam fix), S Voice and E-Mail. No Problems.
@zerojay:
I have no big characters when I write or answer mail.
So default dpi is 640 and not 650?
For anyone wanting to make the stock ASUS Launcher look a bit more like stock Lollipop, I found an icon pack called LolliPop Colored on the Play Store. Applied via the icon packs setting in the launcher, it doesn't do anything other than change the wallpaper and app drawer icon. I then use the standard Nexus blue wallpaper.
You can get the same result by using the Google Now launcher. Plus it's an official app. You'll also get the "Okay google" function from any screen using this launcher instead.

Sure you can use google now, or nova or apex. That's not the point. For various reasons some people, myself included, want to use the stock Asus launcher. This is just a way to have it slightly nearer in appearance to stock lollipop's material design. Oh, and "OK Google" from any screen is available in the stock launcher too - it's an option in Google settings.

Sorry, I don't know how to share links for google play store apps (there's no sharing option like there is on apple app store). But if you search "LolliPop Colored theme" it will be top of the search results (it's by Alper Selzer)
I installed xposed framework yesterday. Using gravitybox module to activate softkeys (and expanded desktop so that can hide them again easily). Then used Xstana module to change the ASUS softkeys and status bar icons to Lollipop style. With WM Density changed to 270 (on my 550) I now have the stock ASUS Launcher just how I want it
Im still not root but i envy those navigation bars
guess have to get one too hehe
iphone
Now we can easily get iphone looks without any file, in latest ASUS launcher.

Because you have ASUS Apps on your ZenFone 2, not Google Apps.
Nova launcher with glim icon pack
I have all Google app installed I think.
What do you mean by Google App ?
Asus say me to see whith Google but Google says me to see whith ASUS.
Thnaks for your help.
What apps' icons are you talking about? If you mean things like settings, dialer and downloads, then you have ASUS versions instead of Google/AOSP, so the icons are different. Using Google Now launcher won't change those icons.
Hello,
so i was wondering if there is any tweak to change the icon size (Home Screen / App Drawer) on Pure Nexus rom.
i know we can modify icon size with xposed, but i don't think i want to installed xposed on my pure nexus.

You can also use a custom launcher like Nova.
Custom launcher, or change your dpi. There's a simple way to do that by modifying your build.prop, but there's also a free app on the play store called texdroider that'll do it for you. Heads up though, lowering dpi will make everything smaller! Personally, I love that seeing as we have such a sharp, big screen. It allows a lot more to fit without scrolling. Just try different values until you find one you like!
