From terminal emulator or adb shell as root, run; pm disable com.sec.knox.seandroid
This should stop knox with no problems.... You won't be able to uninstall it as its a system app but you might be able to delete it out of the root system app then go to recovery and clear dalvik cache however this may trigger a knox warranty void in bootloader, not sure how the S3 will react as this is a Note 3 forum....

There is also a thread in General, I believe, that says someone tripped Knox after freezing/removing Knox. Not sure if they did something else that tripped the warranty void but just a heads up....

Please change the names of the apps in the script to the apps related to Knox which is present in your phone.

After root I delete all this whit Root Explorer:
1 - From system/app I delete:
ContainerAgent.apk + odex
ContainerEventsRelayManager.apk + odex
KLMSAgent.apk + odex
KNOXAgent.apk + odex
KNOXAttestationAgent.apk + odex
KNOXStore.apk + odex
KNOXStub.apk
SPDClient.apk + odex
2 - From system/containers I delete:
All .apk + .zip file and 2 apk inside subfolder framework
After a wipe cache + dalvik on recovery, all work for me (not for Knox )

[Q] Root and KNOX

Hello,
I updated my Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005 with KIES to XXUDMJ7 and right after that I rooted it before activating KNOX on my phone.
After that I wanted to start using KNOX so I clicked the app icon in order to activate it and filled the password to start, but then I got an alert meesage saying that my phone has been changed so KNOX can not be used.
I do want to use KNOX because it seems a nice to have feature to protect my sensetive data.
Can anyone PLEASE help me what can I do in order to enjoy a rooted device and KNOX together ?
Looks like u tripped the knox counter by rooting

Not what was asked... Knox is a program that separates Android into 2 sections, the insecure one that we use rooted and a secure version that stops all apps from doing ANYTHIG that could give out our data. Photo's taken while using the Knox security feature wil only be available in the Knox section.
No, you can't use Knox after rooting as you have now opened up the system to questionable apps unapproved by Samsung...
There is no way I have seen to spoof the system to allow use of Knox security app and have a rooted phone....
Just to know

1) No, Knox stop working, that's all
2) It seems that no with the last firmware ... On our Note 3 with the old bootloader you can root with "Root de la vega" and enjoy Knox... With some S4 that's the same.

Can you please tell me what is this update ?
The only reason I rooted my phone is to use "Tasker" and "Greenify" apps.
don't know the change log for the MJ7 update... But i know that with MJ7 (and also MJ5) you have the new bootloader ...

[Root] Knox stays (0x0) with Kingo android root

I was looking for a safe root so that my knox counter remained at 0x0
First flased the stock firmware with odin XXUEMK4 from SamMobile
and then with kingo root rooted my Note 2
and it works my counter remained 0x0
I used this youtube movie as an example, if I did everything right, and everything went well with my

This won't reset KNOX if you already void KNOX warranty

1- Download and install Samsung Kies or Samsung Mobile driver
2- Download "kingo"
3- On your device go to Settings/More/About device/
4- Tap 5 times on "build number" to enable "Developer option"
5- Enable "USB Debug Mode" from developer options
6- Connect your device to PC by USB cable and wait until "kingo" display the model of your device
7- Click the green Button and wait few seconds
8- After it reboot, you can unplug USB cable
Is there really already a Knox-workaround way to root the new 4.3 firmwares?
HAHAHA! That's awesome!

Nope. Has nothing to do with odex/deodex.
BTW. If this method works, it's the first workaround without tripping knox.
No more using older bootloaders I guess. Nice find!

Ok so please check your phone through Odin to see if really your counter stays 0x0 an show us a screenshot.
This will be the definitive confirmation.
Kingo works 100%
Have been using this rooted phone for more than a few days without any problems.
Had downloaded the OTA though.
Had not flashed MK4 firmware via Odin but it should not make a difference.
Have not tried the wanam & xpose process ... will try it today and give u all an update.
I am purely on a stock rom (odexed)
Just wanted to root the device without any custom notifications or tripping any counters
I guess this Kingo method serves the purpose...so far until something better turns up.
This is purely for those who are on STOCK Rom & want to root their Phones and are afraid of tripping their Knox Counter etc.
Follow this post for further instructions on rooting via Kingo & Wanam & Xpose (for making Device Status from Custom/Modified to Official)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2509244
Major.
PS. Device status showing Custom/Modified will not allow you to update your phone via OTA.
If you want to Make it official as I mentioned u can use Wanam & Xpose
OR
Flash the original Stock ROM via ODIN (You will lose the ROOT though)
PROOF!!!

Correct me if I'm wrong but since we have root on a non modified Knox status phone, we can pull the bootloader and system info, then try to break the fuse and compare it to the untouched status one? @Chainfire

Could be possible...
As after rooting by this method I personally feel this Knox thing is more kind of software related rather than Hardware.
If Kingo can bypass this and root so can our senior Dev Team too can.
Although, I don't understand much of this mambo-jumbo in programming..am always ready to help.

Cannot run KNOX

Hi, I downgraded my S4 from NA4 to MK8, and I rooted it. After that, I installed KNOX, and now I can't use it because it simply doesn't run... I'm able to type password, but then "KNOX stopped working"... How can I run this, or how can I uninstall KNOX? Maybe I should first install KNOX and then root phone? Or don't accept KNOX blocking while rooting?
E: Also, I have installed floating window mod, so I modified some system files, maybe this is why KNOX don't work?
Your knox must of tripped to 0x1. I have noticed that you cannot use any knox software anymore once it's tripped.

The problem has something to do with disabling knox after rooting. If you do not disable knox, s-health seems to be ok, but after disabling it, it has issues. Some people have restored, rerooted, keeping knox and resolved the issue.

Tripping the Knox flag us not the issue, the issue us when you disable know in #su afterwards. You can root and keep Knox running and it eliminates these issues

Using this root increases your flash counter and trips the KNOX warranty flag!
maybe i'm reading what other post said key word "disable"
I never disabled knox but did trip the flag
Pretty much any rooting method to date or any unsecured bootloader will trip the Knox flag. If you don't want to trip the flag, you're going to have to stay bone stock. There's a difference in tripping the flag and disabling the Knox software. When you root and choose to disable Knox, that's when people have issues with some Sammy apps
Sent from my SM-G900T using xda app-developers app
I'm trying to understand... are people disabling Knox themselves before/after they install Xposed, or is Xposed disabling Knox automatically?
Anyway to test if Knox is enabled or not?

can you explain this more please you stated that some people are restoring and rerooting and keeping knox enabled then s health works fine. but searching the forums I am unable to find any reference to this or how to do this.;
would also like to know a way to tell if knox is enabled or disabled , I know my knox flag is tripped but far as I know I never disabled it , if that's the case then if knox is the issue then my s health should be working fine.
---------- Post added at 10:37 AM ---------- Previous post was at 10:35 AM ----------
maybe a better question is this
risestar2 are you rooted with recovery and have xposed installed with s health working fine ? on the galaxy s5
Surely the big question is what is Xposed doing that stops it working as it works fine until I install Xposed.

would like to know as well
mine works fine even after installing xposed ,its when you install the framework in xposed that makes s health crash as if I uninstall the framework from within xposed and reboot , s health is fine again , I took my logcat files and have posted them but no luck form anyone yet
I'll try to find the thread, but essentially it's this.
You root your phone using one of the 2 preferred methods, both of which trigger your one time Knox flag.
Installing root installs the #su app. Upon starting this for the first time, you should be prompted that Knox is running, do you want to disable? Yes/No.
People that choose yes are having difficulty using some Sammy apps, including so health and private mode. People that don't disable Knox are not having these issues.
You may be able to re-enable Knox in #su, or your best bet is factory restore and then reroot and choose not to disable Knox (root and everything still works fine)
You can troubleshoot it by Uninstalling all xposed framework and modules and testing all Sammy apps. If they work fine then the issue is a compatibility issue with xposed or xposed and another app or modification. If they don't work with xposed Uninstaller then the issue is likely Knox related and you likely need to re-enable Knox.
The Knox flag is a one time flag, not a counter so once it's tripped, it's tripped (e-fuse) and it doesn't really matter what you do afterwards. You can load a hundred different rooms and it will still be 0x1 Knox warranty void.
Risestar2 I've already said the issue only occurs after installing Xposed and goes away one I uninstall it. So the problem definitely lies with Xposed and not knox.
