I think you have to re-install the driver with signature verification disabled. What drivers are you using?
Turn driver enforcement off. Then install driver. Reboot.
I tried already with driver enforcement off and drivers 1.5.27 and 1.5.29 and same result...not recognised by windows in download mode

I read various threads concerning ODIN / Download Mode + Win 8.1 - no solution at this time, as it seems.
I also tried various cables, drivers, etc. - error seems to be connected to a more generic one, that came due to a change in the USB stack with Win 8.1 (Google Win 8.1 USB error code 43)
I flashed my phone on Win XP but if anyone know how to flash on Win 8/Win8.1 or have the right drivers please share

I bet that's a driver issue. Just google it and you will find a lot of solutions.
If u find some drivers that works post here.I tried a lot of "solutions" and none worked

Not working , "Device enumeration failed"
Did you use Odin 3 v 1.7.0 with Samsung Drivers 1.5.14.0 and did you uninstall newer drivers before? I used it to flash 2.6 in my i9100 in win 8.1 with no Problem. Only while first try Windows made a driver error because it wasnt ready with seting it up. Up from second try it works for flashin Rom and rooting. Do you maybe have Kies still installed?

When I connect , phone not recognised , doesn't matter if odin is closed or open , same result. I think windows block device/driver

Do you have Administrator rights in the Computer? Also the connection in downloadmode only happen inside of Odin, not in Windows.

There is one way for installing it.
You need to have a drive from your phone something like mobiledrive (in stock 2.3 or search google for android driver)
They you go to start and type device manger.
Then you find your phone in the list and rightclick and choose install.
Go to the drive and in one of that folders there is the drivers. And install it.
Sorry for my bad english

There are a number of LG drivers floating around. Get the latest ones: v3.12.3 and there should be no issues.
Hi. I recently switched to Windows 8.1 on my laptop. From this moment on, my Nexus 4 is unrecognizable by the PC. I've tried everything. Seached the whole internet, but did not find a solution to my problem. Is anybody else experiencing the same problems as I am? Is there anyone who can help? Thanks!!!

You mean MTP?
Try uninstalling any related drivers, and try again. Or try changing the USB port.
Yes MTP. Tried both. Still nothing...

Was it a fresh install of Windows 8.1? Did you disable windows update?
Is it an unofficial copy of Windows 8.1? In that case, it could be an OS problem..
Mine is working great on win 8.1 64bit with the latest Windows update. Make sure to install Android SDK (check the Android version you are running).

Extract and navigate to folder:
\All MTK USB Driver 2014\All MTK Drivers\New inst. win 7&8x64\
and install according to your system.
If it doesnt solve problem, try other folders. Above one worked for me.

Hi guys,
Need help. My i9500 display is dead, I was able to backup my data with samsung Smart switch. Only Smart switch detects the phone Kies doesn't. Trying to use ADB but totally unlucky. Device not at all showing up in the devices. I have USB debugging enabled and have Android SDK installed. Planning to reuse it as a webcam. Any help would be much appreciated.

Then I would try a different USB cable and/or USB port.
Maybe a different Windows version too.
Tried the first two was even thinking about trying it on a different machine. Will check. Thanks
